was in the area and decided to stop by. quaint little restaurant with tons of seating. although we sat right outside on the small patio, it fit 6 of us and some room. great service from the boy and lady as they were very accommodating and attentive. ordered some good stuff, their egg rolls had great flavor but was lacking ingredients to give it that touch. their laap gai was good, very sour which I enjoy. other than that, everything else was decent. seems like takeout is a big hit here, never a long wait as I observed.

I ordered the take out for my cousins and I. Here’s the thing, we’re not that picky, but… this food was just NOT good. The yellow curry was just watery and tasteless. The fried rice and the Pad Se-Lew literally tasted over cooked and very bland no flavor what-so-ever. The eggs rolls and Chicken Satay were okay nothing special. I could of spent my $ 54 somewhere else. Never again.

I don’t give out one star reviews lightly, but the food we got just wasn’t good. We got broccoli and fried tofu, papaya salad, and fresh spring rolls. The tofu was salty, broccoli was overcooked, the papaya salad had way too much fish sauce in it, and the spring rolls had pretty much nothing in it, just rice noodle, cabbage and a tiny bit of tofu in it.

There are a handful of Thai restaurants to choose from and we chose Thai Satay based on the reviews. We thought the restaurant was cozy, friendly and personable staff with good food. We’ll be going back again!

My go-to for Thai food in San Mateo. It’s nearby, usually has parking unless you’re at prime lunch or dinner time. Price is right and food is usually food. Service here is great! I normally order for pick up and I never end up waiting too long. My favorites are their yellow curry with veggies, tofu, and potato(you’ll have to special order it and they will charge you extra for potato). Also love their catfish with oyster sauce and veggies. Try the Angel Wings if you’re looking for something familiar but different. Pad Thai is hit or miss — today it was a little too moist(I hate that word too!)

Friend and I enjoyed a lunch there but paid the price about an hour later. Not sure what was the cause for each of us separately having to run to the restroom but it was defiantly something we ate. I have eaten there in the past and didn’t have a problem but this time was no fun.

This Thai restaurant has some of the best Thai food around! I always get the pad kee Mao with ground chicken. It’s super tasty. Overall, the restaurant is super clean and they have the best service.

The first time I tried Thai Satay, my co-worker gave me a taste of the ginger paste sauce and I was hooked. Whenever she wants to go on lunch break to Thai Satay, I am always down to go. The first time we went, I got the ginger paste with shrimp lunch special, which comes with a salad and soup. Today I went again and had the fried chicken fried rice lunch special and it was only okay. The rice was tasty but the chicken was on the drier side and I wasn’t a complete fan of the batter that was used. I will definitely stick to the ginger paste with my choice of meat the next time I go back. I heard the pad see ew is good, I may give it a try the next time instead. we’ll see!

During the warm summer of San Mateo, we enjoy ordering various kind of fried rice(with chicken and prawns) that we eat outside. The food is very good and the location of this restaurant make lunch a very enjoyable experience :)

This is the first Thai place we tried in San Mateo. My boyfriend had the radna with beef, which are noodles in gravy sauce. I had the Pad Kee Mao, or drunken noodles, with chicken. Both were pretty good(though not the best Thai food I’ve ever had) and the portions were generous. Tip: Their menu does not include everything that they offer. Drunken noodles were not on the menu but they will make it for you anyway. The only noodle dishes I saw offered on their menu were Radna and Pad Thai. If you want Pad See Ew or Pad Kee Mao, you can request it and they will likely make it for you.

Perfect service, they had mis en place out systematically before every course and the staff was super sweet and kind. Good help navigating through the menu and we ended up having their big flaming urn of tom ka gai, it was like no other flavor I’ve had before, I really didn’t need another entrée, we started with theirfresh spring rolls, one apiece, and then learn with some rice that we added to the soup and that was plenty, but it was necessary to have fried banana of the meal, of course. I’m kind of regretting the bananas now but the tamerind digestif at the end really brought the whole meal full circle.

Not like many other Thai restaurants I have been to, the food is not too salty and strong. My husband and I ordered sweet basil chick and chili prawn and calamari. they are both pretty good. We love the strong taste of basil and the tenderness of chicken and calamari. The Thai tea taste great! The food came up quickly and the service is good. Will definitely come back!

My husband and I were so impressed with the service and quality of food here. We walked in wondering if there was room and we would be welcome. Staff were so accommodating, making space for us to sit at the table with the stroller beside us. Staff are very friendly and extremely attentive. My husband got green chili and I had yellow chili. We will definitely eat here again!

Cozy, casual thai restaurant. We ordered two dishes. I remember one being okay and the other was very good.

Randomly went in not expecting much but this place was delicious! We had just some basic items of yellow curry and pad Thai and they delivered. The staff was super nice and welcoming, would definitely go back.

I had the garlic pepper chicken with a side of brown rice. Perfect meal for rich flavor and no poop yourself variable. Oh, and they are nice too.

It wasn’t until I came to write this review did I realize that I’ve eaten here over 8 years ago. I suppose that’s appropriate because from the looks of it, I must have eaten here when I first started my job down on the peninsula and today I lunched with HR to talk about my departure from the same company. I ordered off the Lunch menu(which I also did 8 years ago …) and this time I got the massumum beef and pork with sweet basil. I liked the sauce that came with both and it went well with the rice — although I don’t recommend the 2 as a combo … the pork with sweet basil is tangy and sweet and the massumum has a thicker more curry base sauce. Still it was a hearty meal for under $ 9.00. Service was friendly and fast.

Was in town for lunch, and in a time crunch. This Thai restaurant came thru with lots of delicious food and speedy service. We ordered the lunch special that allows you to pick two items from a list of about 20, and includes soup, salad, and rice as well. I ordered the calamari satay and red curry. My friend ordered the Thai bbq pork and green curry as well. We both ordered the curry spicy. Within minutes our server had ice water, and soup on the table. To be conscious of the times, they had a notice saying water was only served upon request to help the drought crisis. The soup was sour, had plenty of vegetables and tofu. I love good sour Thai soup. They quickly followed up with a simple salad with a yellow dressing that was sweet. I added Thai chilies in vinegar to give the salad a spicy kick to it. The main dish was great, the calamari satay came w plenty of peanut sauce. The curry was very spicy, just like we like it. The décor was nice, plenty of sunlight, and the service was excellent. They know how to get you in and out, but we also didn’t feel rushed as our server was attentive to us as we finished each course. Plenty of food w the lunch specials under $ 9.00. Come here if you want great Thai food during your lunch break!

Craving Thai food so we wandered in here Sunday after church. We ordered one standard dish and one new adventurous dish. Pad Thai with Shrimp — It was standard and good. Rama — This dish comes with chicken, pork, and beef over a bed of broccoli cabbage and is smothered with a peanut sauce. It’s sweet so I added some of that delicious red chili sauce to help temper the sweetness a bit. I liked that this place was quick and was super generous with the food. The two of us were able to eat till we were full and were able to take half of each dish home! I would come back to try other dishes.
