I am absolutely in love with KIRF Co.‘s granola. It tastes delicious and is an easy snack while I’m busy at work. I haven’t yet tried the cookies that are also recommended for diabetics. The only downside is that their goodies are difficult to find. I just found out you can subscribe to have their products delivered to you monthly or bimonthly on their website — I just signed up and am looking forward to receiving my first shipment.

I ordered a Chocolate Coconut cake for my bosses birthday since he’s on a paleo diet. I’m always a bit concerned when I order something that isn’t made in the«traditional» manner of baking(i.e., flowerless, sugarless, butterless) but WOW — this cake was AMAZING. So delicious and scrumptious. Reall moist and flavourful, without being cloyingly sweet. I love that since it’s made with natural sweeteners like agave and honey I can feel better about splurging also. Looking forward to trying other treats from Katie soon!

We’ve gotten a number of awesome baked goods from Katie: almond-based gluten free pie crusts, her«crack» granola, cocoa peanut butter krispies, and a number of miscellaneous goodies from her West Seattle farmer’s market stand stick out in my mind. The best has been our vegan wedding cake that Katie did a custom order on for us. We had a small wedding of 45 people and the cake got rave reviews from everyone in attendance. Chai chocolate was an awesome alternative to traditional wedding cakes. We’re not vegan, but after sampling three of her cakes, this was our favorite.

Katie from Grain Expectations is awesome! After seeing a previous Unilocal review about her baking Paleo treats, I had to contact her. I have tried most gluten free bakeries in the city and have yet to find one that bakes with coconut and almond flours. I ordered a chocolate coconut cake and ginger nut bars and they were both delicious! None of the guests guessed that they were grain free. We will definitely be ordering from her again! Starting tomorrow you can also find her at the West Seattle Farmer’s Market.

My favorite thing about Grain Expectations is the surprising combinations of flavors Katie can create. I am a bit of a foodie, so I generally think I have seen everything as far as recipes go, but I always end up truly amazed at Katie’s knack for creating new and unique recipes.(I never would have imagined enjoying a beet muffin topped with goat cheese, but I almost melted onto the floor, it was so good.) On top of that, she is also a master at some of the more traditional recipes. I have never had a better peanut butter or chocolate chip cookie INMYLIFE. Seriously. I am salivating just thinking about those. And on top of all this, she uses really high quality ingredients, AND with each recipe she keeps health conscious consumers in mind. I’ve had gluten free, soy free, dairy free, and low sugar varieties of all kinds of baked treats from Katie, and they are all fantastic. I can never even tell which ones are the«special» gluten free or vegan ones, because they all just taste so good. She’s great at handling everything from small batches to giant parties. I am VERY impressed with this company.

What’s so much fun about ordering from Grain Expectations is the strangest sounding items(Beet Walnut Goat Cheese Muffins? Plum Hazelnut Cornmeal Tea Cake!) turn out to be amazing revelations. Desserts are tasty without being overly sweet, and you always know that even the most decadent tastes are still completely whole grain, and sometimes even have a fruit or veggie or two hidden in them. Five stars!

Wow, okay, where to start? First off, everything I’ve ever gotten from Katie has been awesome: moist muffins, hearty scones, tangy goat cheese topped muffins. Her flavor combinations are inventive and the execution is superb. Also: I eat 90% strict on a paleo diet, and Katie has put together some tasty paleo goodies using almond flour. If you’ve got nut allergies, wheat or gluten issues, or any other special needs, she’ll work with you to create baked goods just for you! For family dinners, breakfast meetings at work, or just any time you need a delicious crumbly treat, give Katie a chance. You won’t regret it.

I had a wonderful experience with Katie, the head baker and owner at Grain Expectations. The packaging was eco-friendly and cute, the service was wonderful and the goodies were not good, they were excellent! My personal favorite are their peanut butter cookies… the BEST I have ever had! I do not need to eat gluten free, I do not need low sugar, but why put those extra calories and sweeteners into your system when it’s not needed? I highly recommend using them. Their plum tea cake would be a great addition to any brunch. Great job, Katie!
