I stopped for a drink after eating dinner at another restaurant and wished I still had an appetite because the food smelled amazing! It looked incredibly fresh and I was tempted to order something despite the fact that I wasn’t hungry. The staff was incredibly nice and everybody seemed to be having a good time. If the food tastes as good as it smells, you are in for a mouthwatering meal!

The food was great! The soup is very filling for one person. All the food was tasty. I love their hurricane drink it’s sweet not too strong.

The staff was very nice and friendly. I sat at the bar and ordered a Dirty Martini. I then ordered oysters and crawfish étouffée. Oysters: not sure of the type but they were fresh, but a bit larger than what I’m used to. Good though. Dirty Martini: Not bad but lacking of olive juice. Crawfish étouffée: Awesome taste but not enough crawfish(hence the name of the restaurant). I inquired but to no avail. If they would have increased the amount to something I’m more used to, then they would have earned 5 stars. Customer service is everything.

Went to the ER for food poisoning after eating a pound of the shrimp. The corn was pretty good, but I also tried the garlic noodles which weren’t the best. Went in pretty early for dinner around 5pm. There were only a few other guests dining at that time. There was no music playing and it was awkwardly silent. Like a library. I felt like I had to whisper as to not disturb the people around me. The service was quick because there were barely any guests there at the time we went. I tried giving this place a chance. But I’ll stick to the other Cajun restaurants I go to, even if it is an hour drive away.

Gumbo with rice is loaded with spicy flavors, rice is extra fluffy and cooked just right. Shrimps, crawfish and sausage were good, but they were so little! They should at least be doubled. I liked the fried calamari — both rings and tentacles. Batter is light. My partner preferred more flavorful and thicker batter like that on karaage. Still too little food. 1⁄3 of the calamari was green onions and shredded carrots. Partly because of small food portions(we shared everything), we ordered a dessert. I forgot the name. It had 3 small doughnut like balls(but less sweet) and 3 small scoops of icecream with chocolate syrup. No complaints. It was delicious.

Reallyyyy slow service! Wear walking shoes… If you are wanting to order any additional things after they take your order initially, be prepared to have to just walk up to the bar to add it on! Three stars because the food is actually ok, coming from someone who used to go to New Orleans once a year to visit fam! Wouldn’t order the crawfish off season again tho! My mistake tho! Ambiance is like a sports bar… but I never love a place that places Christmas music the entire time; does anyone?

Ordered the crawfish, shrimp, fries, calamari, garlic bread, and garlic noodle special. No one in our party ate the food. It was so bad. I felt terrible wasting so much food, but it was so terrible. We will never eat here again. Maybe because I’m a former chef and stay at home mother I expect at least semi decent food from a restaurant. Sorry, we really wanted to love this place. Pros: the service was excellent.

Best Cajun shrimps and corns ever! The whole experience of digging into a bag of shrimp and getting your hands dirty is awesome. They have a great dinner special selections. The service is good. On weekends it does get crowded and a little slow. The garlic noodles are yumm. When you order spicy make sure you can really handle spicy. They are not kidding about spicy.

I came here for lunch around 3pm on a Friday. My friend and I had planned on going to Cajun House, but sadly they weren’t open yet. I had come to Crawfish Fusion once before, but had only ordered the garlic noodles, so I was excited to try some other things on the menu. Let me just say right off the bat, if you’re looking for an experience similar to Boiling Crab, you won’t find it here. We ordered a pound of the shrimp to split, and they bring it to you in a little tiny bowl, where it sits in a very watered down sauce. Usually at boiling crab you can count on getting a pretty good amount of shrimp in your bag, however we counted and there were only about 15 in the bowl. There wasn’t much flavor to the shrimp since the sauce was pretty weak, and they didn’t give you any lemons/limes or seasonings to make it any better. It doesn’t even seem like they cooked the shrimp in the sauce, more like they just threw it in the bowl at the last minute. We also got an order of the garlic noodles which are just okay, but I’ve had waaaay better(for example Kickin’ Crab in San Jose). After coming here twice, I think I’ve given the place a pretty fair chance, but it just doesn’t live up to even the more mediocre cajun seafood restaurants. I was even starting to wish I had gone to Shaking Crab in Daly City! I’d definitely recommend going around the corner to Cajun House, because from what I could see from their Unilocal page, it’s probably a lot better.

Good crawfish and more!!! We had so much food here. We tried their garlic Dungeness Crab, shrimp, garlic pasta, garlic broccoli and Kbbq rib dish! Fresh watermelon juice(love) Many beer on tab are available. Enjoy it. A little pricey.

Came here for a birthday celebration This place is pretty cool. We only off-hand briefly mentioned the dinner was for a birthday, and they went out of their way to give us a free birthday cake with candles! This is especially amazing given that we were the very last table to leave, and when they gave us the cake it meant they had to close up shop and leave later. Talk about good customer service! The food is pretty good. The spicy shrimp is REALLY spicy. You don’t feel like when you first taste the spicy sauce – it tastes blend. At first. Then the spicy kicks in 2 – 3 seconds later and you start to REALLY feel it. The spicy shrimp here is legit. The garlic noodles stir fry was ok. Basically no shrimp at all – 97% garlic noodles with 4 tiny pieces of shrimp for a giant plate. The firecracker roll was pretty good. The seafood there was also very fresh as well. Overall, a really good place to go to for seafood, especially for a celebration!

The food was great. I ordered 1 pound of shrimp and it definitely did not look like one pound. I was a little turned off by this place after that. Since the serving size was small, I had to order 2 more pounds of shrimp just to get me full. We had to wait a while for our food and the waiter hardly ever came to check up on our table. For the price of the food, I expected the service and quality to be a little more up to par, but maybe it was just not a good night for them. I will give this place a second try.

Its pretty good for what it is. Food service was quick and efficient. There was no need to wait for all the items to be delivered to the table. Food options include crawfish, garlic noodles, shrimp, crab, collard greens, short ribs, etc., A blend of southern, Chinese, Vietnamese, and American. Tasty meals with good portions that can serve a few diners. You will need to wear the bin and be prepared to fet your hands messy as eating with a fork is not recommended. Enjoy!

I’ve been here many times. It was originally called Red Crawfish but now is called Crawfish Fusion. The wait isn’t usually too bad; the most I’ve waited was 20 minutes. The garlic noodle and fried oyster is bomb. The shrimp is also really good. I got mild original and it had a little kick of spice. My mom always asks for her food cooked in a very specific way and they’re very accommodating to it. Prices are a little pricier than Boiling Crab but I’d say the price difference is reasonable for the service. Also, there’s parking in the small alley on the side of the restaurant for those who hate downtown San Mateo parking.

OMG! Their Cajun original flavor is really awesome! We had their set menu of crawfish, shrimps, garlic noodles, bread and beignet for dessert and it was really tasty and great! Service was great as well as we were taken cared of by our server very promptly and politely even if the place is full of people and she’s loaded. She still manages to deliver our refills and check on us on a regular basis and it made it feel like she really would love for us to have a great time. We had their Cajun flavored crab legs as well and it was really tasty as well and perfect! All of our spiciness level are mild and it was perfect and just right. You’ll never go wrong with this restaurant. Make sure you visit whenever you’re in San Francisco! Just in case you ran out of parking space, there’s one available just off the San Mateo Caltrail platform. Just be sure to get your ticket at the platform.

Another review by BAM. When in San Francisco go to San Mateo for this jewel! Just minutes from the airport heading South on 101. First things first. Do you like sucking on the heads of tiny Exo-Skeletal fresh water crustaceans? Do you go off on members of the superfamilies Astacoidea and Parastacoidea? Then you gonna LOVE this place! Crowd control. Seriously tons of seating, great for families and big groups. They have got a bar. In nice weather they even have outdoor seating. Food. Killer with a capital K! Order that group meal special number one. 50 bucks. You get 3 pounds of crawfish, fries, garlic bread, garlic noodles, and ice cream with their style of dessert Beignets. Garlic noodles are garlicy, like da kine that will make a boy from Gilroy, blush. Make sure to order 1 lb of each flavor. They’ve got original Cajun style. They’ve got lemon pepper with garlic. They’ve got garlic. Just know that everything is going to be with garlic. My brother and I voted on the lemon pepper with garlic. Choose your own. But get ready to get messy, you’re going to have to wear one of those plastic bibs. It’s so worth it! Get messy, suck on the head of that crawfish and get all the juice out. NEIGHBORHOODISGREATFORFOODIES!!! Couple of my favorite places are in this neighborhood, around the corner, you got Takahashi market, which is been around for like 100 years. I always go there for Hawaiian plate lunch and Ono kine, poke. Then there’s Cream for ice cream sandwiches for $ 2.99! Dude, I want one of their ice cream«sammys» right now! Oh, and only go MEDIUM on the spice, unless you want your lips to melt off your mouth. Hawaii people gonna say, «Eh Brah, it gonna broke your mouth!»

I think i enjoyed the shrimp here than most places including the mainstream places like boiling crab and kickin crab. It was just soaked in this wonderful flavorful soup and the sausage was cut thinly so you dont have to deal with chewing a huge chunk of it while dealing the heat and the spicyness. My friend and i got the set dinner and boy, that was definitely more than enough. Set 1 comes with garlic bread, garlic noodles, cajun fries, 3 lbs of crawfish(we paid $ 2/lb to substitute for shrimp) and 2 beignets for dessert(i feel like the beignets were an afterthought or something thrown onto the menu. Wasnt impressed). That was all for $ 50(plus $ 6 for substitution) and then my friend got calamari which was very good with the salt and pepper seasoning. This was definitely a meal for 3. Everything we had was delicious. I couldve done without the $ 8 mini champagne glass of mimosa though. I thought that was a little much for the amount i got. Besides that, the service was good and the food was nommy. Will be back!

Awesome! This place was fun, tasty, exciting… etc. We wanted a cool place to go to and what’s more fun that getting down and dirty with shrimp and seafood? The good was good. Service was quick. Had sports games in the background and had a full bar. The drinks were super affordable as well. Great place to go to. No question. We had the garlic noodles, 1lb of shrimp with special seasoning(super spicy), a fried seafood platter that included friend oysters, shrimp, fish and calamari as well as 2 corn on the cob. All tasted great.

Cute outdoor dining area. Good service. Many varieties and variations of seafood dishes. Overall, a fun experience. They have some pretty decent garlic noodles. Definitely a must have especially if you’re eating the roasted garlic crab. I love the big chunks of garlic in their garlic butter. Makes the crab extra tasty! I also enjoyed the gumbo with rice and BBQ short ribs. Unfortunately the beignets were hard as a rock. They didn’t have any doughy or sexy texture or flavor. They need to step up their beignet game ASAP!
