Caledonian Masonry

Paul and his crew came as a recommendation by our contractor. It’s very rare that you find a tradesman that truly has the passion and craftsmanship of the old world technique. I’ve had other stone columns and walls done in my home and what I originally thought looked good I could see such a difference in the two. Caledonian Masonry finished work was like a puzzle perfectly placed together with each stone being a perfect match to the next. Can’t wait to use them again in the future

We have used Paul Gallagher twice now for big home projects and I will not use anyone else. He helped me pick the perfect color stones for a fireplace remodel and another time for our outdoor patio/​wall project. He has a true gift of knowing which colors work well and then will bring you samples of the stone. Paul and his crew have an incredible work ethic and are honest people. I could trust them in our home alone. They are always on time and very curious of the home owners wants and needs. Paul’s accent can be difficult to decipher on the phone (thick Irish) but don’t let that deter you!!! I will be using him again for our next stone project!

We live in a concrete block house in Belmont and we’re embarking on a remodel. Before we begin it was suggested we reinforce the wall where the work will be done as the house was built in 1947 and building codes were not not as stringent as they are by today’s standards. We hired Paul Gallagher at Caledonian Masonry to fortify the wall and I’m here to sing his praises! Paul identified the issue and found the best way to strengthen the wall thus improving its structural integrity. (Details if interested: — They cut into the block, installed vertical re-​bar, tied into the existing solid blocks at the top and bottom of the wall and filled it in with solid concrete.) I can now take solace in the knowledge that our house is much safer than it was when we woke this morning! Everything was covered to protect surfaces from the dust and they cleaned the site before leaving. Not only was the work done expeditiously but courteously and with much less mess than I had anticipated. As owners of a concrete house I’m sure we’ll be calling on Paul and his team for future products. A++
