I loved living at the Lodge. Sadly, I had to move out due to the recent flooding that happened but the staff were extremely caring and made the process much easier for me. The day of the flood the staff already had Servpro in the apartments starting restoration. During my nine months living there the maintenance area was GREAT — very quick repairs and very friendly. They were always willing to take the time to answer any questions I ever had. Giving a three and not a four due to a few situations, though. Occasion one: a staff member blatantly laughing at me on the phone after having me on hold for a while, saying a couple of words and hanging up because she didn’t want to work on a Saturday afternoon. She screened my calls and absolutely would not answer when I called back several times immediately. You’ve no idea how livid this made me. Occasion two: outlets in my apartment were literally sparking and I was concerned that a fire could start. Call and am told that«MAYBE maintenance will get to it, but if they can’t they won’t see it until Monday»(this was on a Saturday that I called). Luckily I waited and called the after hours emergency line and whoever I spoke with said that it was definitely an urgent matter, you know, because the complex could burn down if something sparked too much and I had already reported the problem. Occasion three: day one when I moved in the apartment was absolutely filthy and disgusting. There were dead bugs everywhere, nothing looked like it had ever been touched from the last residents. I sure hope they didn’t charge those tenants I made sure to note that on my apartment condition form I had to turn in to the front office. The office made an effort to fix this, though. Once seeing that note on the form they offered to have a cleaning crew sent to my apartment. I declined since I had already started the cleaning process, but I think that it was a good gesture on their part. For the most part this apartment complex isn’t bad to live in — the pool is beautiful, the staff are usually very helpful, maintenance requests are completed very quickly and the price is great(unless you are looking at a one bedroom, but that’s pretty much everywhere in San Marcos).

Only giving one star because I’m forced to. Shitty apartments and management keeps changing. Management doesn’t help you with anything. They’ll do anything to get an extra dollar from you. I’ve complained about my dryer for the last two years living here, probably 30 times in 2 months and they couldn’t even fix it. When they«fixed» it for the tenth time, they just pulled it forward allowing crickets into our apartment. Refused to give me a new dryer, but gave my friend a new dryer after 3 complaints along with monetary credit. DONOTLIVEHERE. The model apartment looks nothing like the actual apartment. Pool is always green. Definitely not worth living here. They also took away the two bus stops here, making you walk down and across the street. Very, very inconvenient!

I love living here and I have recommended this place to any and all of my friends especially since this is my third lease here. If you want simplicity and easy living definitely take a look here, the apartments aren’t huge town homes or anything so they don’t require a ton of cleaning and weekly chores which is great during the busy semester. The pool and clubhouse is awesome and the workout room has just enough to take care of everything you need without being overwhelming. Theres a new beauty salon here that offers a few free monthly services to residents like manicures, pedicures, and haircuts. I’ve gone through ups and downs but I can honestly say that the management and the leasing staff has never been better than it is now. They genuinely care about creating a new reputation for this complex and they go out of their way to take care of the residents and their needs to the best of their capabilities. Everything you need to enjoy college is available here and it will only be as good of a home as you make just like with any other apartment complex. The staff in the office and the management is always so friendly and will always wave if they see you driving out and are always asking for suggestions on how to make the living experience here better for everyone.

The management here is atrocious and unprofessional as well as the maintenance crew. Neither of them can get anything done right. I don’t have the energy to explain everything that has gone wrong living here, but just save yourself the frustration and take your business where it is actually appreciated. Once you sign a lease here just go ahead and bend over.
