On January 27, 2008 I purchased a sleeper-sofa + love-seat from«Sofa For Less». A deciding factor for my purchase was the fast delivery time promised by the sale-lady at the store. She quoted me a delivery ETA of 2 weeks, and promised to contact us as soon as the purchased items were ready. Two weeks went by and nobody called. I waited an additional week and still no call was received from the store. At that point I called«Sofa For Less» and asked about the status of my order. I was told that somebody would look into it and call me «right back.» An additional day went by and nobody contacted me. I called again the next day and asked again about the status of my order. At that point I was told that the wrong item was delivered to them from the manufacturer. Then they proceeded to tell me that I would have to wait an additional 3 – 4 weeks for the sleeper sofa to be delivered. I was quite unhappy about it(and let them know), but was willing to wait(did not want to spend additional time and energy looking for a sofa set.) I was promised(again) a call as soon as the sofa was ready. After 4 weeks we did not receive any call from the store(big surprise!) I then proceeded to call the store and ask to speak to a manager. No manager was available at the time(or any subsequent time I called.) The person I spoke to said she would look into the matter and call me back. After waiting an additional day I received a call(voicemail) stating simply that the sofa was not sent by the manufacturer as expected. When I called back they actually told me that the manufacturer was missing a piece necessary to build the sleeper portion of the sofa. I repeatedly asked the sales people to contact the manufacturer and put pressure on them to ship the item. After an additional few days, I was told(I had to call the store of course) that the sofa was ready but was still not in the cargo they received from the manufacturer. The lady I talked to offered to waive the delivery cost($ 60) since I had to go through this«unacceptable» situation. I was not moved at all from their offer: I wanted my sofa. Still to this day(March 27, 2008) I have not being contacted by these people. I have never felt they really pursued the issue with the manufacturer, or cared to keep me informed on the status of my order. I had to initiate contact every single time. It has been 2 months since this ordeal has started. I would expect way better customer service from a business accredited by the BBB. I am bitterly disappointed. Update: After numerous attempts to get in contact with anybody at the store I finally spoke with a sales person and demanded a full refund. The sales person said she would process the refund right away. After a couple of weeks I was not able to see any refunds on my credit card statement(never give cash as down payment!) Then I proceeded to call my credit card company and file a dispute. My credit card account was credited the money back the next day. If you want to save yourself time, money and energy do NOT shop at Sofa For Less!
