Nattiya

Came in for lunch on the weekend. While the food was decent it’s extremely overpriced for what you get. I ordered the eggplant dish with tofu, came with a small portion of rice. That plus a soda ended up coming to $ 20. That a bit much if you ask me, especially when there are a ton of better places for half that.
While I was there another couple came in and asked about lunch specials and they were told that it wasn’t available on the weekend. After 5 minutes looking at the menu they got up to leave. The waiter then said, «okay you can have lunch special». I can’t blame them!

I was excited that my husband took me to this Nattiya’s restaurant. First, I order a drink which is ice tea with Boba. I wanted to have authentic food so I asked the waiter what Boba is. He couldn’t answer me and so his Co worker. Nevertheless, I ordered it and the Boba was black and pretty hard in texture. Not so enjoyable.
We had appetizer, Nattiya’s special platter. price was high for that few deep fried rolls and other stuff. Rip off. could get from supermarket.
To the main entrees, it was a let down, I had drunken noodles which was sweet. I expected authentic food but great disappointment. I have eaten real Thai food but this is no where to compare!
After half an hour, I had a very bad stomach with bad cramp. I flown to the restroom, besides, the live band next to the restaurant is far too loud.
We paid over $ 70 for my food poisoning. I told my husband to make a complaint over it. He said it is useless, they will give us a voucher for going back to have another food poisoning
So goodbye Nattiya!

Love, love, love this place — my favorite Thai in North County. I suggest adding veggies to the Tom Yum soup (especially chopped cabbage, peppers and onions). Thai spicy fried rice, Panang curry, hot basil — all fab! I’m new to Unilocal but was told I need to do this since I’m a foodie so here goes :) also, if you like heat/​spicy like I do, they will gladly give you a side order of chilies — yum yum — if you get it to go.

We have gone to Nattiya’s for over 8 years and the food is consistently excellent! Every time we take friends there. and we do quite often. they tell us the food is the best they’ve ever had! Pad Thai is wonderful… yum squid salad is the best ever and the soft shell crab is simply amazing! Give yourself a treat… check it out! We love it!!!

I have been two times now to listen to wonderful old time jazz and eat some excellent thai food. It only gets better. However, the service needs to improve. In fairness the waiter had only been there a week.
