Best massage ever! I have scoliosis and have had back pain due to spinal stenosis for years. Having tried many treatment modalities, I can confidently recommend Tenia for effective, pain-​minimizing massage. She always has good observations and recommendations that help me manage my pain and my life.

BEST MASSAGE I’VE EVER HAD!
I have been in excruciating pain for days now due to a herniated disc. After seeing my chiropractor and waiting a couple days I sought out a good massage and found Tenia through Unilocal!Not only was she good but she relieved so much back pain I almost wanted to jump for joy (but I didn’t, still taking it easy). I haven’t been pain free for days so even just some relief would have been great, but I’m almost pain free! I went from a pain level of about 7 to about 3 or 4, when I left I was at a 1! I’m probably pushing it too much but I feel so much better I’ve been doing dishes, cleaning house, doing laundry and generally trying to catch up on everything I haven’t been able to do the last week! She will be seeing much more of me in the future!
Tenia is also well versed in other holistic modalities and it was really great talking to her about some ideas on how to get well and stay healthy. I listened to her recommendations for some easy to use supplements and have started using them already. She was a pleasure to be around and the atmosphere at her work place was very pleasant.

Tenia is awesome! I have had severe back problems for almost 8 years and was in daily pain. I contacted Tenia and she was positive she couple help. I admit that I didn’t fully believe yoga would make my pain go away, but I’ve been doing yoga with her for a little over 3 months and I have now been pain free for 3 weeks, which I never thought would that would never happen. She’s also has helped me change the way I eat. I have lost pounds and inches.
She is always positive, pushes me when I need it, but also listens when I need to hold back a little. I’ve learned to embrace yoga and everyday I feel stronger. Thank you Tenia!

I’ve had a headache, neck hurting and very bad back pain for two days. I called Tenia
to see if she could get me in the same day. She went out of her way to fit me into her busy schedule when I explained what was going on. She did an excellent job. I fell into a half sleep, half wake state early into the massage. I always know the therapists is doing something right when I can relax that quickly. It was quiet, the music was soothing and Tenia knew just what to do. I’ve already booked an appointment for a 90 minute massage next week. Can’t wait to go back. I’ve gotten massages for years and am very picky so I would not recommend someone I didn’t really feel was good.
Her spa is located in Lake San Marcos, an easy drive from anywhere in the North County.

Her studio is small, so the classes are intimate and no-​pressure. And, it’s the most comfortable and friendly studio I have ever been in. She tries to customize each class to accommodate her students. She also offers pilates, nutrition, massage, reiki, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, and life coaching. And she supports veterans! She is one of the sweetest, most generous, caring, supportive, and positive people I have ever met! I couldn’t give a higher recommendation!

I’ve been a client of Tenia Bentley’s Holistic Hideaway for several years. I continue going to her exclusively for all my massage needs because she is truly gifted. She offers several different types of massage and I’ve benefited from several including deep tissue and lymphatic drainage after a surgical procedure and radiation. She takes the time to listen to individual needs and goals.
Not only is Tenia an expert in massage, her well rounded background and concern for her clients’ well being allows her offer exercise and nutritional advice. Several times I have had pain issues, most recently tight hips and low back pain, and she recommended supplements and stretches that have helped immensely.

Tenia the masseuse was so friendly and welcoming. I showed up early and was also brought in early which is very nice. She was very personable and extremely knowledgeable about her profession. She was very good at reading my body language (which is totally a necessity with massages) and even gave me awareness about high tension in certain body parts. I will always be thankful for that! her shop was not hard to find and definitely a hideaway. i thoroughly enjoyed my massage and would definitely return!

I was referred to Tenia by a close friend of mine who has raved about her massage services. I was intrigued b/​c my girlfriend hired her at her bridal shower to give us massages (go figure)! So nice and relaxing and the complimentary lotions she gave us was a very nice & classy incentive.
I signed up for her email newsletters and decided to try a deal online that I found for her yoga classes! Oh they were so nice! Her studio is perfect and compliments the ambiance of which she is trying to provide… it is definitely a little getaway! :)
I saw a Tea or something she did this past weekend, but I was unable to attend, but she’s always got some unique events going on and I always feel refreshed and healthy!
Tenia’s upscale client appreciation by far surpasses any other and she’s right here in San Marcos!

A+++ I couldn’t be more pleased. I am a newbie to yoga and Tenia taught me my first class! She was absolutely wonderful! I couldn’t have a better teacher and I will be back every week! She is absolutely on the ball with confirmation and receipts. Very technologically advanced, I have no idea what that other review was about. That is just crap. This place is high-​end and she offers wonderful, small, comfortable classes that anyone would enjoy. Her classes are worth a great deal more than she charges and I think she is a special gem to find in our community. Also, I love the area where she is! It’s easy to get in/​out of and there is always parking. I highly recommend her!

I went to Tenia with significant shoulder and neck tension. Her ‘Hideaway’ is just that, cozy, inviting, and feels like a retreat right in Lake San Marcos!
Tenia is a gifted therapist with healing hands. After one session with her, my neck and shoulders feel restored and her cranial sacral therapy is incredibly healing.
I like that she offers pilates, yoga, and workshops to compliment hands-​on healing. It’s just the wellness center I’ve been looking for.

Tenia is stating that she tried to «reach me» with a resolution and that I sent emails when the biz was closed? and expected immediate response? none of this is true
I sent emails when all biz should be open, no one EVER called me back nor tried to reach me via email or respond to my emails. Offering to replace my Pilates class I had already paid for and I SHOWED UP FOR and their company did not, is NOT resolution??? what? oh thank you so much for giving me back the class you screwed up on and that is how you think customer service works? no that is not customer service that is the law! I paid for it, you screwed it up, you give it back. BUT THAT IS NOT making a customer happy nor fixing a WRONG you did. nothing extra was ever offered; you simply said I could call you personally to schedule since ALL your technology seemed to not work correctly. wow really? yes I hung up, you kept laughing and acting like it was so silly and not a big deal that a customer showed up for a Scheduled class and no one was there at 9am. the computer sent me a CONFIRMED APPT and the email I sent to you Sat was proof of that email.
you never returned the email nor called.
As for the location, its located in a retirement village in an empty biz park at the very very back. weird feeling with NO business open anywhere near it.

Holistic healing massage in a calming, clean, and peaceful environment. Tenia is simply the best!

Tenia is wonderful! She is extremely knowledgeable about how the body works. I’m recovering from a severe groin pull which shifter my entire pelvis out of alignment. I get better with every visit. The best thing about Tenia is that she has a great heart! How a massage therapist treats her clients is most important. She cares a great deal about her clients. I have recommeded her to all my friends and will continue to do so.

Simply the best! Tenia is amazing and a very talented lady. If you just want to relax or have aches and pains, you really should go see her. She is the bar you should set all other massages by, the best by far. I have gone to her with back spasms, achy muscles and just to relax, she always listens to you and treats you accordingly. She also gives advice for aftercare and ways to improve your issue. A person who really cares about people and it shows in every action she does.
