I haven’t found a nicer place to enjoy a good chicken vindaloo. In fact this is the best Indian food in north county as far as south of Vista and north of Carlsbad! One of few but a unique experience never the less!

This is our favorite local Indian restaurant. It is not as complex as some restaurants I have visited in other areas in terms of spices and flavors, but the food is fresh and it is not floating in oil as is the case a some Indian restaurants. We like chicken dishes and have been happy with their offerings and with the variety of naan. The service and timing of when food arrives at the table can be a little bit of an issue, but we keep coming back as the overall dining experience is very positive. If you want hot as fire, floating in oil Indian food, this may not be the place for you. If you want to live to dine again, I am sure you will enjoy your meal as we do.

The service was outstanding. The food was outstanding. The prices, yep, outstanding. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with friendly staff and an absolutely mouth watering aroma. We ordered 2 items from the lunch menu and had enough food to share with our son as well. The tandoori chicken was excellent and the chicken curry was perfect. We substituted our naan bread for the garlic basil naan, which was a great choice. Can’t wait to eat here again!

Very good food, the atmosphere is casual and cool. Not what you would expect in a shopping center. Good service.

Because I tend to be pretty optimistic, understanding, and generous, one or two stars are a hard rating to earn. But hopefully you’ll understand why by the end of this review. About a week ago, my friend and I decided to check out a place we had never had before. Both us being avid fans of Indian food, we settled on Curry and More. When walked in, we were quickly greeted by a friendly hostess. After some confusion as to where to seat us(nearly a quarter of the tables had reserved signs on them), we ended up having to sit in the middle of the room(mind you, the only table in the middle), which was about 2 – 3 square feet wide… in other words, tiny. The hostess assured us that we could still order our food and that she’d sit us at a normal table as soon as it came available. After watching two tables come available and then be filled by people coming in, it became quickly apparent that we were stuck with the kiddie table. Needless to say, I’m not sure where the hostess went. She disappeared after that, never to be seen for the rest of our visit. The next employee that we encountered was a large guy who wasn’t very friendly and didn’t say much at all. He simply asked«What you want to eat?» and then walked away without a word after telling him. Yeah… spectacular customer service… And then the wait began. We waited… and waited… and waited… Somewhere near 35 minutes later, our food finally arrived. Bear in mind that we simply ordered one dish each and we were drinking water only. So it’s not like we had some expansive, hard-to-cook dinner order. The food was mediocre at best. I’ve had a lot of Indian food in my days, and this was on the far low end of the scale. I had the Malai Kofta with naan. The portions were tiny, the naan was very bland, and the Malai Kofta tasted very little like any I’ve had before… which, for lack of better words, sucked. We had concluded our very unimpressive and overpriced meal and literally had to wave down our server as he was passing by since he seemed to have no interest in actually serving us. I then requested the bill, being eager to leave at that point. As we waited for the check, we overheard the table next to us who was also extremely dissatisfied with their experience. They, too, shared the exact same sentiments that we did — that the food was sub-par, and the service unacceptably aloof and lead-footed. They tipped a quarter and walked out. Yes, $ 0.25. That’s it. And I don’t blame them. Eventually, nearly 15 minutes later, we received the check without even a «Thank you» from our server, and we left. It’s not surprising that my friend and I said in unison after we departed, «Well, we know where we won’t be going again.»

This place is great for pick up. Food is ready fast. Organized and containers are tight and I’m going to keep them for Tupperware. The food is extremely yummy! The spiciest of food I ever tasted for requesting a 5(out of 10). All of it is amazing. Drove out of my way for this lot. And it’s going to last two of us quite a while. Each dish comes with two sides. Make sure you order rice. They don’t give you rice w dishes.

When I was younger I had a terrible experience with Indian food that left my tongue and bum on fire and tears in my eyes. From then on I had decided to never try Indian food again till today when my boyfriend wanted to try something different and I figured my tastebuds would’ve changed because I was older. We’d been eating so much Asian food that we needed something to change it up. Thank god for Unilocal because this place was amazing! We ordered take out to eat at home and we got the Mumbai Calamari which came with yummy yogurt and tamarind I believe sauces. Bikaneri Samosas which were fluffy and rich, which went amazingly with the tamarind sauce. My boyfriend got the Mixed Seafood Curry with a spice of 9 and I got the Lamb Roganjosh Curry with a spice of 7. The dishes came with sides and we got two sides of Basmati Rice, one side of Jeera Aloo and Daal. We also got two pieces of Garlic Basil Naan. My curry was really flavorful and spicy and even more delicious with the naan dipped in. My boyfriends curry was super hot but extremely flavorful as well. The naan here is just so damn delicious all warm and fluffy. The basmati is your standard but the daal(lentils) and aloo(potatoes) were spicy and tasty. There was so much food that we could only finish half and we’re saving the other half for later. It’s a bit pricey but I can understand why: the quality of food and the amount they give is great. Thanks for making me a believer in Indian Food because I’ll surely be coming back here and trying that Goan Prawns curry!

Love this place! We drive 40 minutes from San Diego to eat here at least twice a month. The chicken tikka masala and murg al frezi are fantastic. The waiters are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Soooo excited they are going to open another location closer to us!

Good food bad service!!! Pompous ass owner does not care for the customer and treats them indifferently with the same unsmiling, unfriendly, cold face! You can’t help but feel like a cow there: You are tolerated to be there because you will pay(money) before you leave!!! Did I mention the service was bad! Waayyy too slow, cannot handle the lunch crowd!!! The wait times are intolerable. The worst part is the pompous ass owner does not care if you are waiting intolerably long, don’t expect apologies but be ready to be scolded for not showing some patience!!!

I have been to this restaurant before and loved the food and service. We revisited again a few months later and were so upset with the service. It took over ten minutes for someone to come take our drink orders. We ordered food and that was the last time we were spoken to. The food we ordered was spicy and we never got offered water nor another drink order. We waited and waited to get to go boxes, I had to get up and ask for them. I am easily impressed with service just a hello and few attempts to see if we need anything. Maybe the business has a new owner but we will never return and that’s a shame because the food it great!

I came here on a weekend night, hungry after a full day of moving. The restaurant was already filling up for the evening around 6:15 pm and you could see the place was very popular. I got the chicken tika masala. Now generally I expect all of the curry dishes to come with rice and a side dish. However, here, you get a choice of 2 side dishes, but the rice is not standard. Bummer. I used my second dish for naan(also I would consider a standard) so the dishes. The portion sizes seemed to be a bit on the small side, although I admit I was rather hungry that night. I left feeling ¾ full.

Good food and good service. There aren’t many good Indian places in North County, but this is one of them. It’s a sit down place suitable for family/friend dinners. Be aware of how spicey/hot you want your dish. 5 is still pretty strong here.

Service was awesome. The restaurant was clean. Food was great! I ordered the chicken tikka masala($ 11) and it came with rice, daal(lentil soup), potatoes, and naan. I ordered it spicy level 8 out of 10 and it wasn’t too spicy. The naan was chewy and soft — perfect for dipping into the tikka masala sauce. I really enjoyed the tikka masala. I normally find most tikka masalas to be too sweet, but it was just the right balance of creamy and savory flavors.

Friendly environment, great place to come with friends or alone. Excellent food and service, a little pricey but well worth it for that authentic Indian food you crave for. Overall an excellent place to be with plenty of options that will always have you coming back to try out something new or to come back for that one great dish. Had to wait 10 minutes until I got my check and only got it when I got up to ask for it myself. 4⁄5

What can I say, «I really like it!» I do not have Indian Food very often, but I do like to have it at least once or twice a year. The spices alone are worth the trip! I have eaten at Curry and More a few times in total. It has been awhile since we have been here. I was dreaming of Garlic Naan bread today… so we called in a special order. We picked up vegetable samosas that were perfectly cooked. We both chose the Tandoori Chicken as our entrée and it was delicious, perfectly cooked and with the appropriate amount of rubbing spices(it came with three sauces with varying degrees of flavor and heat). Our sides included cumin potatoes and basmati rice. It was a delightful and flavorful journey. The food was still warm on pick up and made quickly to order. Look forward to returning for a sit down dinner next time.

I would say by far in San Diego County this is the best Indian restaurant. Not only was there food good but they had great customer service. Customer service is what separates restaurant from having four stores to five stars in my book. At our time there they had great attitudes and I only just that it took two servers to make sure that we had water and I thought that was great. The place is very modern, Open and welcoming. While the place is very modern looking the food is very authentic. Although the dishes may be a bit pricey around the Ten to $ 15 range. The portions and tastes very worth it. I would recommend this place to new people looking to try Indian food into friends who love Indian food we are definitely coming back here again.
