Chicken is good, service was fast, food was fresh. Not too impressed with flavor of chicken.

I like their chicken here, but their service today was horrible… we had to ask 3 times for a table to get cleaned and all times they said we had to wait for her to work her way there, meanwhile she was taking out the trash… no sence of urgency to give great customer service. The food is good, but they need to hire people willing to give great customer service.

This place is great!!! I do agree with most on the fact that they are not the fastest but once you receive your order, it’s easy to forget and well worth the wait. I’ll definitely be back!

Best grilled chicken I’ve ever had, service is a little slow, but they are usually busy and it is worth the wait. Very reasonable prices as well!

Similar to El Pollo but better priced. The whole chicken was extremely hot right off the rotisserie. So hot that it needed to rest about 5 minutes before consuming. My only negatives was that the chicken was charred a bit, and it was saltier than normal. But it’s definitely better than EPL. It also would be better if they had a salsa bar.

The best grilled chicken! I just order a whole chicken. it comes with grilled onions & jalapeños, along with a salad. and of course salsa! Sooooo good!!! Call ahead of time to place your order, otherwise you may have to wait a while especially if it’s during the busy hours.

This place is hit and miss with not only the quality of food but also the customer service. Been there a few times and the food was good but the last time I went the chicken was under cooked. The guys that work there sometimes have a no care attitude. When a customer says thank you, at least acknowledge them.

Love the fact you can see right into the kitchen. Chicken comes off the grill fresh. Well seasoned. A bit slow to turn orders around every time I’ve eaten in. I’ll continue to eat here as long as they keep putting out a great product.

I rarely go to El Pollo Loco, but I come here every blue moon & they are never a disappointment. Food is always tasty & fresh. I love watching the guys grill the chicken and wish they could do that at my house. It’s super healthy & fresh. You get to choose flour or corn tortillas for your meal as well. The people who work there are friendly, but sometimes don’t pay attention. The prices are fair as well. As of now, they are expanding. Other than that, great place.

Is a great place to get Mexican grill chicken. And as well they have perfect combination with salad and grill onios. Great for family dinner no fast food like pollo loco or kfc. I Would recommend this place.

One of the best chicken in town. The flour tortillas are delish! I definitely recommend this place. It’s also reasonably priced. ~$ 11 for a while delicious chicken, no sides.

Discovered this place when we lived in San Marcos. Even though we live in La Mesa now, we still try to eat here! I craved this chicken when I was pregnant. It’s simple food, yet it has been consistently fantastic over the last 6 years!

Keep it simple stupid! They are not stupid, but they do keep it simple. Chicken is so good. Sure I would love them to offer this deliciousness in a burrito form or a nice torta, but I will take simple deliciousness over choices any day.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place yet?! Seriously, one of the best grilled chicken I have ever had. Compadres is literally a mile away from my house and there was a time when I would come here almost everyday. Then I learned you can have X amount of chicken pieces as you want, so you don’t have to pick from the menu. I am a gym rat and I do meal prepping – I like to buy enough for 4 – 5 days of lunch. I know it is waaaaay better when it’s fresh, but I don’t have time to go back and forth… even though it is close to my house. I like to get 20 pieces, that last about 4 – 5 days for me if I’m portioning it out exactly. Their chicken is so fresh, so tender, so moist! I like the char on the chicken, it as texture and flavor. You can see how fresh they are right when you walk in the door. The huge grill is right in front of you when you walk in. Each chicken is cooked to perfection. It’s so simple… chicken or if you want you can get it as a combo, rice, beans, and tortilla. I like to get it with extra flower tortilla. I tear up the chicken, add the beans, rice, hot sauce, and ranch and voilà! With the combo it comes with only three tortillas and you have a choice of flower or corn tortilla. I always get flower. Their ranch dressing is off the chaaaaaaaaaaaain! It’s watery and not thick at all, but the flavor is so darn good I always ask for extra ranch. It has a buttery smooth taste and I love to dip my chicken in it. My recommendations are to get handfuls of their ranch dressing. You’re welcome. Customer Service: Johnathan is the front guy/cashier. He is very friendly and easy to talk to. When I’m there and they aren’t busy we talk business and fitness, by the time I leave my chicken is cold haha. Johnathan has great customer service and he always hooks me up with more ranch dressing because he knows I love their ranch. Price: Their pricing isn’t bad, maybe more on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for and you are paying for their quality of chicken and flavor. It is well worth it. Parking: Easy to find parking, just a little harder to get into the plaza with Wal Mart/Costco across the street and now that Manna KBBQ is in the same plaza as Compadres it does get a bit tight. Weekdays are easy to get in and get out, weekends are harder. I definitely recommend this place, this is one of my top places to boast about when I’m with my friends and random people I end up talking to about food that live in North County. This place is a hit, give it a try and get that ranch dressing! If you eat good food, then you will never have to eat bad food again — @DmagicP

This grilled chicken is awesome, the marinade is so flavorful. ITISRIGHTEOUS! The service was speedy and good and the price can’t be beat. I had a two piece that came with 2 pieces of chicken(complete with chilis and sauteed onions, YUM!) rice, beans and tortillas for $ 5.00! They give you salsas to kick up your meal even more so don’t sleep on the tomatillo salsa! Compadres is the BIZ-NISS!

BESTCHICKEN everrrrr. that is all. just kidding :) FOOD: they keep it real simple. Chicken or chicken! well some variation to that, but you cant go wrong with the chicken. SOJUICY. They have individual plates and you can order whole/cut up chicken as well. PRICE: $ 5 for a plate with 3 pieces of chicken, salad and beans. AMBIANCE: super small but its more of a «eat and run» or «order out» place. SERVICE: The staff are all friendly and the food is prepared quick!

This place is about chicken and here they make it amazingly delicious and moist.. Favored over Pollo Loco for the flavor. The beans are excellent and the rice is good. The salad was wilted with the takeout box but thats sort of expected. Very short wait after ordering takeout and yes the aroma of grilling chicken over mesquite is heaven. BTW a four piece dinner will feed two hungry adults.

This place does pretty much one thing — amazing grilled chilcken. You see the pollos right when you walk into the place. There always seems to be people there and it smells heavenly. The chicken is tasty and the beans/rice are great. The side salad is nothing special but that is not why you are there, right?! My husband liked the horchata and I was glad they had the elusive Mr. Pibb. The front desk guy who took our order gave us a complimentary tiny bowl of rice and beans while we waited — I had asked for it and would have been happy to pay but he just gave it to us for free. Super sweet. The service is overall friendly(even the cooks /prep people were nice). Lots of families! So, if you had a toddler with you(like I did) you don’t feel bad when he begins using his«outside» voice. The actual place itself is nothing special — a few tables and chairs with mostly people waiting for their take out. You can call in and they will have it ready but it seemed like most of us just put in our order in person and waited. It was not a bad wait! One plan that worked for us was going to the little park near by(Nob Hill or Knolll Hill or something like that) and then about 30 minutes before we are ready to leave, call in our order(a family style plate with a bunch of different chicken parts) to go. For us, it’s a perfect Saturday afternoon /evening. It’s right next to the Baskin & Robbins across from the Kohls/Walmart mall.
