Ours was installed in such a way that we can close our door only when the screen is retracted. If someone(our kids!) tries to close the door when the screen is not retracted, the door knob bashes into the screen, and will eventually tear it or otherwise damage it in some way. I think it could have been installed differently but I did not think to ask about this.

I put this business in ‘Shades & Blinds’ because there was no Door or Screen Door category. Less expensive than some others, the home office of All Seasons is in San Marcos. The installer Alfredo was very good and very fast, but be sure to inspect inside the tracks to see if he drilled any holes he didn’t use. If so, ask him to fill them with caulk. Also, he initially used flat-head screws to hold down the tracks. This is just wrong, since they are not countersunk, so I asked that they replace them with round-head screws and they did, though they first insisted that they had done it this way for years and had no complaints. I don’t care if they’ve had no complaints, I’m an engineer, and I know when you shouldn’t use a flat-head screw. Just make sure before you sign off that the screws holding the tracks to the door frame are round-head. And then he used a leaf blower to blow hundreds of metal shavings on the driveway from the cutting he did into the garden, where they lay glistening on the plants and mulch, leaving me to clean that up. I guess that ticks me off more than anything. The doors themselves seem to be of good quality, but only time will tell. They do look good and work well. But watch that installer carefully.
