Dr. Nassar treated me for my thyroid follow up after total thyroidectomy revealed cancer. In short, she was awesome. I am an «actively involved» self-advocating patient. That can make me seem like a pain in the hindquarters to other doctors who are aloof and unreceptive to patient input and dialogue. Dr. Nassar sought my input at each appointment, and she did not just listen, or give a courtesy nod as I shared my observations and analysis; she incorporated my inputs into her plans and recommendations. She is a diligent and compassionate physician. Hippocrates would be pleased that she practices medicine. I cannot say the same about all of my doctors, believe me. As a veteran, my care is at the VA in La Jolla, where Dr. Nassar unfortunately no longer practices. Kaiser got lucky — and if you are in the Kaiser system and have diabetes or another endocrine system issue, you, too, got lucky.
