Some are good at cutting hair there, some are really bad. So i feel bad by writing this review. First off, if you get a bad one, make sure you have your ruler or tape measure handy, because they do not know what a ½″. (.5 inch) means. Also make sure they are not watching tv while cutting your hair. The person cutting my hair left the clipper sitting on top of my ear and im not sure if it burned me or cut me, but i wear glasses and it is hurting every know and then. Who knows if they clean those things after a hair cut. One still might have a little of my blood on it. The hair wash lasted 2 min tops. Some of them give really good ones, this person was barely even touching my head. I feel like this person thought they were too good to be there or something. I have been going there for over 2 years. And this was my last time.

Cut about 1.5 inches off my hair when I asked for ½ an inch. She then kept saying its ok we’ll make it look fabulous. Ok so maybe it won’t be that bad. Wrong, she just kept running the clippers through my hair until it stopped cutting. It is pretty uneven and sticks up in random spots now. She seemed like she just wanted to get me out as quickly as possible. I also got the «legendary towel» and massage. Not sure what the fuss is. The lady was nice enough but I am extremely disappointed with the hair cut I got and, as a result, will be wearing hats for the next few weeks. I had a free coupon but why someone would pay $ 20+ for that is beyond me. I will not be returning.

I take both of my 12 year Olds here for their haircuts. Overall, we are satisfied with the quality of the cuts, the price and the staff.

Good service in terms of friendliness, but hair cutting isn’t great. They said they’d do a half inch on top, but it’s all over the place. Most of my hair is an inch or longer still. I wish I could cut my own hair so I wouldn’t waste $ 20 on this.

I’m very particular about how I like my hair done. I’ve gone to numerous places here in slo and I really haven’t had an established barber. I try to give the benefit of the doubt to the barber but it just hasn’t worked out. I went into sports clips expecting to get an average haircut, possibly not even like it. Turns out, Marissa cut my hair the BEST I’ve ever had it. She tapered the back perfectly and was really nice with trying to figure out how I wanted it. It changed my perception on chain barber shops. Definitely, going back again. And a warm towel to the face makes it that more enjoyable. Thank you!

This place SUCKS!!! I’ve been coming here for years and the service has steadily gone downhill. If I hadn’t pre-​paid for haircuts I need to use up I wouldn’t come here ever again. Even when nobody else is waiting in front of me I have to wait at least 30 minutes before I can get my haircut which takes only 3 minutes. Hire some more goddamn people!

I asked for a simple haircut (3 on top 1 on sides with a fade) and the barber rushed through it like I wasn’t paying 25 $ for it. It was uneven and I could have done a better job. Will never go here again.

I was pretty nervous coming here since I have Asian hair and it has a really different texture than white people hair. I’ve only had it cut by Korean women in my life but my stylist did a pretty good job. They do a great job if you know what exactly what you want, but if you’re one of those people who like to give your stylist a good amount of free reign over your head, you might want to look someplace else. It might’ve just been the stylist I had so maybe there’s that.
Customer service is definitely top notch. Personally, I think I’ll try out some other places first, but I definitely haven’t ruled SportClips out.

Worst hair cut I’ve had in a long time, sterile, boring… sorry, a hot towel doesn’t make up for a crappy cut, other people seem to like this place though, guess I’m too particular about my hair and I guess this explains why so many men in SLO have bad hair

I usually cut my own hair but I haven’t in a while so I decided to get a good hair cut. Came here and got the MVP cut and it was amazing! I felt so relaxed during the short but sweet message and love the way my hair turned out. Thanks!

Best barber shop in the County! I take my teen son to Sports Clips & we have to drive 25 min. each way just to make the trip, but it is worth it. The first time you visit, you get free upgrade to MVP (hot towel, massage, hair washed). They also usually give you a coupon to give a friend. Make sure you get a punch card to keep in your wallet as the 10^th hair cut is free (I think it is buy 9 & 10^th is free).
What really makes it worth while for me is that they store your info. in their database & when you are there you don’t have to tell them how you want your hair cut. It is done the same every time with no instructions.
You can call ahead & get your name on the list so you don’t have to wait a long time.
I like watching MMA on the flat screen TV while I wait for my son. A basic cut is $ 17, MVP is $ 23, but if you come back with your receipt within 30 days, you get free upgrade to MVP. There is a $ 20 cut also, but it isn’t done much. It is the MVP without the neck/​shoulder massages.
Highly recommended!

VIP is awesome friendly staff good thing about here is that everything that you like (hair cut) gets recorded getting a perfect cut every time…

I have been coming here for about six months now, and this is absolutely the best place in SLO for guys to get their hair cut. Everything about the location is perfect, and as far as the operations side of things, the women that work there are all very knowledgeable and quick to get you in a chair. The seats are all comfortable and they always have some sort of game on the TV’s, really makes you feel like your at home. The price is excellent, more than fair for what you get. MVP is the way to go, cant beat a hot towel and massage!
