Manager (Rosa) lacking in real Customer Service.
Was in a week ago where I asked for assistance on «sound proofing» a door. The gentleman helping me was given the measurements for a door which needed to be covered. He recommended using carpet padding and therefore cut a piece for me. He included instructions for me to cut to cut in half (with scissors, not a razor) when I’m ready and it should be the correct width. I did just that — cut in half. Having arthritis in my hands, this was a very painful process and took me 30 minutes to complete. As I got ready to cover the bottom half of the door, I could see that it was 4″ too narrow.
So, today, I took the padding back.
I arrived back to Quality Fabrics to find the same nice gentleman who worked with me before and explained the situation. He remembered working with me and found that the measurements were ¾ of a yard off of my measurements. The manager, Rosa came out and was putting the blame on me, in her accusatory tone, telling me I sure have came in with the measurement (like I know who many inches wide their carpet padding rolls come in???) Originally, I came to purchase a foam pad and they suggested the carpet pad instead.
She walked back into her office. I felt humiliated.
I watched as the new piece was cut in less than a minute. I asked if he could cut the other side as well, so that I could save my hands from the painful experience. He said, «Let me ask my manage.» (Oh great, here comes the Pitbull) She returned stating, «We’ll have to charge you for the labor.» I couldn’t help but reply, «For one minute of cutting and because of a mistake your company made?» I also asked her if she considered this good customer service? She felt she was giving me good customer service. I told her, «I don’t think so. I don’t feel taken care of, I’m not satisfied, nor do I feel that you care enough, unless you charge. How about my extra time, having to take time out of my day to deal with lack of respect?» Unilocal Review, well deserved.
