Love these guys! Friendly, clean, great color selection. Sad to be moving out of the area.

I have never left a bad review before however I feel this information can be helpful our future potential customers. I went to the salon and it was very clean and the ladies there seemed very nice… I picked a gel nail color and unfortunately they were out of that color but offered me a similar one which they were also out of and finally 3^rd times a charm. After two days of having my new nails that should have lasted 14 days they started to lift and peel. Bummer! I called and they told me they would fix for free. Not a big deal so I took time out of my day to go have them repaired. I went back to the salon not only did they make me feel very uncomfortable for asking she demanded that I knew who my technician was. Unfortunately I did not recognize any of the workers… (I mean has a nail technician ever told you their name)!? They determined that the girl who did my nails was off of work. She started to take off my polish and then stopped midway through started bickering with another employee and literally stopped & told me that I needed to come back when my original technician was working. So now I have not only chipped and peeling nails but one of them is completely filed off now and I am supposed to go through the next day until «my technician» can fix it.
I really wanted to like this place, they have a great selection it’s very clean and the ladies seemed nice. Unfortunately, they have no regard for me as a customer, their selection isn’t accurate and they are extremely rude. :(

Absolutely LOVE this place. All the girls are so nice and they always try to fit you in when you walk in. I have had many of the girls do my nails but Kim has been my favorite. I came in 45 minutes before closing and Kim did my nails, she took her time on them despite how close it was to closing. I ended up leaving a while after they closed (sorry Kim) and opted out of the massage so she wouldn’t have to wait much longer to leave, she assured me it was fine but I still felt bad. I have come here dozens of times and walk out satisfied every time.

I was moved 3 times. The manager was rude and attempted to overcharge. Won’t be back. Customer service was so much better a year ago ://

Spur of the moment decided I wanted my nails done today. I was able to get in right away for acrylic full set with gel overlay. Quiet and efficient. I think Tim was the one to do my nails?! Over all I’m happy and will probably return for a fill.
So I’ve been to this nail salon about 4 times now. It’s increasingly gone down hill each time! Michael usually does my nails and has successfully cut me 2 out of the 3 times I’ve had him do my nails. The last time I was at this nail salon, Michael did my nails and they looked awful! The acrylic and gel separated from my real nails which isn’t good and poses a bacterial fungi threat; not good! Also major miscommunication between staff onsite and telephone answering service; which I graciously forgave. I get it life happens but when I pay $ 36-​$ 40 bucks for poorly applied acrylic and gel manicure with compliments of cuts I think it’s time to go else where. Also when getting an acrylic fill it doesn’t look good. Michael and Annie made it obvious where the old acrylic was, just looked tacky and not a smooth unnoticeable fill. Annie did do a better job though fill aside. On a positive note the student discount was a nice incentive to come to this nail salon. But sadly we must part ways. Also washing hands after acrylic is sanded is necessary. This is the only salon I’ve been to that doesn’t require clients to wash and brush under acrylic nails??? which Michael seems to ignore all the above. Quality should be important and applied in every aspect of life

I love this place. The gels last a long time. The pedis are great with hot stones and towels.

I wish I could of wrote a better review but this is one of the worst nail sets I’ve had in a long time. First they do make you feel welcomed, which was great but when I got my acrylics done the guy did them waay too thin. Then I had got crystals on them and the guy didn’t glue them down so of course soon, after they fell off. A couple days later my first nail fell off, week later a second. And I don’t do anything that requires hard labor, so sadly to say I’m very disappointed. Guess I’m going to have to stick to the place I usually go to.

I seriously can’t say better things about this place. The workers are straight forward and nice, the prices while they might seem a little steep are definitely worth it for the quality of service you receive (if you’re a student ask for the student discount!), they are quick, there is a HUGE array of colors to choose from (both gel & regular polish), and to top it all off the place is very clean.
¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend to anyone I know looking to get their nails done!

Okay place. Very expensive if you don’t pay with cash. Why should the prices go up if you use a debit card? Wasn’t able to use the coupon on here either. My pedicure wasn’t all that. Didn’t even get a massage. My friend paid $ 90 for pedicure and acrylics…

I’ve been to MiniLux a bunch of times over the past couple of years. They usually do a great job, but every now and then I’m a little less than satisfied. If you can, get Annie. She is a perfectionist; I’m always very happy with the results when she does my shellac manicure!

This was my first time visiting MiniLux and it was just okay.
I got an acrylic with gel manicure and it wasn’t very impressive. The color and shape of my nails turned out the way I wanted. However, the lady that did my nails did not clip my nails, clean under my nails, or cut my cuticles like other salons would. I think she didn’t separate my skin from the acrylic or something when she put the acrylic on my nails, but it stuck to my skin and now underneath the nails of my pinkie and thumb, I’m bleeding. Also, underneath the acrylics, there’s still acrylic dust (?) that won’t wash away…
The student discount is great, but they really need to put on Unilocal that it is only if you pay with cash. I might try this nail salon again, but not sure if it’s really worth the bleeding underneath my nails again.

This is my third appointment at minilux and I love it more each time I come! By far the cleanest practices I have seen in town (tub liners for the jetted pedicure tubs!) and Annie is the sweetest. Bonus, she does the best nail designs! I will keep coming back :)

I came in once before, and was not super happy with my acrylic/​gel manicure. However, I decided to give it another shot. The owner had them remove the nails I wasn’t happy with and gave me a complimentary pedicure. The removal of the acrylic nails was painless, and the pedicure was amazing. Annie is the sweetest owner and they have the best customer service. Will definitely be going back to MiniLux for manicures and pedicures!

This is my first visit to MiniLux. I made an appointment and was seated promptly. They give you a bottle of water and have a Keurig available for coffee… They had my favorite… Peet’s Major Dikason’s!
They use fresh liners for the foot bath and open fresh implement packs for your pedi… That gets 5 stars in my book!
Kathy did a nice job… Firm handed massage… Gentle attention to cuticles.
I will return… Note. This is not a fancy place but comfortable and clean.

Mini Lux has been my favorite place for a pedi for the last few years. All their operators are friendly and good at what they do. Their facility is always clean and smells great.
One thing, they have a $ 5 off coupon if you check in on Unilocal,but to use it, you must pay wit cash. This is a little behind the times, most peple pay with their debit cards these days. Maybe the management should consder accepting a debit card WITH the coupon.
That aside, come here to get your next Mani and/​or Pedi, you wont be sorry. ;-)

I honestly don’t have any idea how this salon is the highest rated in San Luis Obispo, I came here for a gel manicure and regular pedicure with my boyfriend. upon arrival we were not greeted or acknowledged at all. I’m not impressed by my pedicure but I won’t complain about it, however the older woman (i didn’t happen to catch her name) did my manicure, she was very rude and she seemed stand offish to me, I didn’t feel very comfortable. As she was removing my cuticles she cut too much off multiple times and cutting me, once she finished I realized she hadn’t painted my whole nail leaving the top of my nail bed unpainted and about a fourth of the side unpolished as well, when I brought this up, all 3 of the girls working got defensive and became even ruder.
I work in a salon and I understand just how important customer service is when providing a service and working closely with customers.
Given all the high ratings on here I was expecting a higher quality of work than I was given. I don’t believe I’ll be returning.

This is the BEST nail salon in SLO. I just moved here for college and I have been trying to find the spot for me. They are so up-​to-​date on styles and have the best customer service I have experienced. The store set-​up is super cute and location is soon easy to find. My nail lady Annie owns the shop and is the sweetest lady ever. She was so personable and multitasked really well. She did an almond shape tip with a pastel yellow on top and it is such a good job. They are thin and shaped really well. The paint job is also amazing. I just love mini luxe so much and cannot wait to go back.

I have been coming to MiniLux Nails now for about 4 months.
The staff is super friendly, they accept walk ins, but the location is always busy, I recommended calling and reserving a time frame to get your nails done.
Annie is an absolute pleasure, amazingly nice and talented. Highly recommend getting Annie if you are looking for something fancy.
They have the standard manicures, along with gel and acrylics. Also, pedicures are a must.

Let me start out by saying that I liked this salon. The people there were nice and it seemed to have a constant flow of trendy looking young regulars coming and going during the entire time we were there. So I know it is a good salon. There were a few reasons for minus one star, but for the most part it was great. I called ahead of time to make sure that we could sit together. They sat us together but started me at least 20 minutes after my daughter started.
NOTE Nail Salons… If you call to make an appointment with someone else… that means that you should synchronize the party to start at the SAME time!
That kind of started me wondering how many stars I was going to take away…
I made an appointment for 3:15 and we got there a little after 3. So they could have asked us to wait. I’d rather have waited together then to have to make my daughter wait 20 minutes for me after she was finished.

The reason that I chose the pedicure I did, is because it said 22 minute massage. Note* Not 21 or 23… 22 lol. So I watched the clock and maaaaybeee it lasted all of 15 minutes but it was just funny how they market it as 22. My thought, if you are going to be so specific then you need to be more accurate.
We got the manicure and Pedicure for $ 45 each. They gave us a large bottle of room temperature Smart Water. Nice — but cold would have been better. But good touch. I really liked my lady. She did a good job. But she never told me her name so I wouldn’t know who to ask for next time.
My daughter was not as happy. Though her lady was very sweet. She got polish on her skin (both toes and fingers) My daughter had to nicely ask her if she could touch up both and she was sweet and did it with a brush and nail polish remover. But even I could see that polish really was on her cuticles and on her toes.
My lady came back and put on my flip flops for me. My daughter’s never did.
I think that if I lived closer, I’d give them another shot. But wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again. I actually wish I could give them 3 and a half stars but I liked them better than 3 and so they got a 4. The guy who checked us in was really nice and friendly and so it is all good… I think that they are more known for their gels and acrylics. It looked as if all those stations were pretty busy.

Very clean, Friendly hard working people.
Had the regular pedi $ 25 with 5 dollar coupon. $ 20. Plus $ 5 tip. Punch card for discounts too. Next time I’ll make time to have nails manicured also.
