Friendliest staff and amazing collection! Definitely cannot choose just 1 item :) I’ve highly recommended their store to a lot of friends who are in the market for jewelry. A must stop and see if you are in the area!

My husband and I visited the shop recently scouting out some antique engagement rings for a friend of ours. We were welcomed by an extremely friendly employee Janice. Everyone in there including Janice, another lovely brunette who’s name I have forgotten and two gentlemen were very nice and accommodating. They knew that we weren’t going to purchase anything that day and helped us look through tray after tray of antique rings. Janice gave us tons of information regarding ring types and adjustments the store could make in order to create the perfect ring. She also had my wedding rings cleaned while we browsed.
The store had a great selection of antique rings at great prices. We know we have found a few our friend will definitely be interested in and are pretty sure he will purchase one of them when he comes into town.
These people have a legitimate business and want to help you find the perfect piece. They didn’t ask us for any personal information nor did we get any vibe that there was any funny business going on there.
We just moved to SLO last year and they definitely have that wonderful small town SLO vibe you want when shopping for something special. We will be back!

In March of 2015 we walked into Hamilton Estate Jewelry on a lark after having some lunch in the area. My significant other and I had been to over six jewelry stores in the past few months looking for an engagement ring but to no avail. I wanted something simple, classic, and timeless and was dead set on an emerald cut stone. You’d think it would be easy… but no.
Once we walked into the store, we were greeted immediately and I quickly found a beautiful 1920’s simple engagement ring and wedding ring set. It was a lovely emerald cut diamond, three quarter carat flanked by two baguettes. It was everything I wanted; clean lines and a classic style. I immediately tried it on and the staff helping us encouraged me to take it outside and photograph it in the light to really see it shine, she also was sure to write down all the information and give it to my boyfriend. There was zero pressure to buy. That is stellar customer service.
For me this was more of a reconnaissance mission to give my poor boyfriend a FIRM idea on what I wanted (ladies we all know we want a ring that we love) and not a buying mission, so imagine my surprise when it found its way to Pasadena a few months later during my proposal.
I was told that the purchase process was seamless an they were very easy to work with.
It you are looking for a vintage ring and want to work with people that treat you as a friend would, I highly recommend Hamilton Estate Jewelry.

I love this store, it’s my go to place for all my jewelry! The owner and staff are delightful, and they are very knowledgeable about all kinds of jewelry from precious stones, gold, diamonds, to costume jewelry. They are the best in town, I’ve never been disappointed, I have been a customer for many years!

What a fun place! My husband had a necklace and earrings set made for me a couple of years ago that I love! But, I went back recently to get appraisals on some estate jewelry. They were so helpful and even suggested updating a couple pairs of the screw back earrings that I love so that they are now wearable! I also had them repair a strand necklace and a gold chain. Just ask– I have not found anything they can’t do when it comes to jewelry!
They have been in business for a long time and have a rich knowledge of not only jewelry, but of the area. Just great to do business with.

This place rocks. The fifth store I tried in my search for a collar pin, and they not only knew what it was, but had a selection of them available! And they only charged me $ 1 to boot! (These go for $ 10-​$ 80 online.) I will definitely be back!

My wife and I got married last year and they had a great deal on a beautiful vintage diamond engagement ring. The service was fantastic and they were very helpful with my search. There was no pressure to buy and no pushing higher priced items on me as I browsed. They were informative and even suggested I check out a few other places in town before I decided. I would send anyone looking for a nice piece there for sure. After reading these reviews I get the feeling he has to deal with a lot kooks and people trying to sell them stollen stuff. I have to deal with that crap at my shop as well.

Came in for a ring evaluation, and they did it for free, and even throw in a complimentary, beautiful red box for the ring. So happy with my experience there.

I highly recommend Hamilton Estate Jewelry! I was having problems with my wedding ring (purchased from another jeweler) and kept finding small cracks in the platinum which eventually lead to the top of the ring with the large diamond about to fall off. All the jewelers I took the ring to told me the design was faulty and it wasn’t worth fixing, that I was better off pawning it and buying a new set. Of course this was devastating to me given that the ring holds sentimental value.
I eventually took it to Hamilton to see how much they thought I could sell it for. The owner took one look at the ring and said I didn’t need to sell it, that he could fix it! When I inquired why all the other jewelers said it was a lost cause he informed me that was his business, to fix old jewelry. (Makes sense, he owns an Estate Jewelry store.) Other jewelry stores probably thought it was too much work and they could make more money off me buying a new set from them. In just a few weeks I had my ring back, the cracks fixed and I haven’t had a single problem with it ever since! In addition to fixing my beloved ring, they have always had great customer service and charged me an extremely fair price. I also take my ring in there to have the prongs checked and have it cleaned, which they always do for free.
I highly recommend this business. They are kind and family run, I love supporting local business like this! I will be buying all my future jewelry from Hamilton Estate!

Stay away from this place! (Unless you’ve been robbed — maybe then you would want to go there to look for your stolen jewelry.)
I went in there to ask if they had a specific type of jewelry item I had been looking for. An older guy (I assume the owner) showed me some items and he said he could sell them cheaper than anyone else, because if I’d pay cash he wouldn’t have to put the sale on his books — hello, I’m pretty sure that’s tax fraud?
He also volunteered the information that he gets a lot of «estate items» that he doesn’t put on his books — which I interpreted to mean that he’s selling STOLEN jewelry and he knows it.
They didn’t have anything that I wanted, but the guy and his two female assistants were insistent that they wanted to put me on their list and keep me informed when they get something I might like — and they want my driver’s license to enter the info into their computer, for their list. «No, that’s okay,» I said, «I’ll just spell my name for you.» Nope, they *really* want to see my driver’s license. And I saw no reason why they’d want to see my driver’s license. After going back and forth about six times, they finally explained that their computer system won’t let them add me unless I give them my full name, date of birth, address, and driver’s license number. That’s the biggest load of b.s. I’ve ever heard. Based on my prior conversation with the guy, I assume he wants driver’s license info for some kind of scam
I walked out of there and I swear I will never go back! Stay away!

Absolutely HORRIFIC customer service not only from the associates but also from the owner himself! I simply asked for very brief information regarding a very important piece of jewelry I had on consignmnent, and he stated he had already given the information to another family member and he «wasn’t going to take the time and look for the file.» Absolute sheer laziness, appalling customer service. They definitely lost my business for future transactions, as well as my family and friends.

It’s like looking through your grandma’s jewelry box because they buy stolen goods! Corrupt and shameful.

Great place to consign. They estimate twice what I thought I could get in other areas. Takes a while to sell, so don’t be in hurry.
Avoid All That Glitters, if that place is even still open. They are crooks!

I love Hamilton Jewelery! I found a beautiful ring there that I absolutely loved, EXCEPT… it was yellow gold (not my favorite) they had it dipped to be white gold in just a few days and it was absolutely gorgeous and just perfect when I picked it up. Thanks Keith!
(p.s. they also fixed a necklace that I thought was broken and hopeless. in just a couple days– EXTREMELY affordable! :)

Great place for jewelry! I found a beautiful pair of 18k gold Tiffanys earrings shaped like bows – so cute! They have a large selection of all types of jewelry & you can consign your jewelry here too. Everyone that works here is very helpful & friendly, I will definitely be returning!
