We booked Gusto on the Go without initially having had the chance to try the food because we didn’t live in the area and were planning the wedding remotely and when we did finally get the chance to taste it, we knew we hit JACKPOT! Erin and Chris are the nicest and most accommodating catering team I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with. Because of weather issues during our drive to town they invited us into their home for our menu tasting, THEIR home(how amazing and thoughtful is that??) The food, from the pork belly sliders to the paper wrapped salmon, the soup shooter to the sweet potato side… EVERY. SINGLE item I had the pleasure of tasting and inhaling(yes inhaling, it was that good) was amazing. They had many many options to pick from and our eclectic gathering of friends with many dietary restrictions(vegetarian, vegan, gluten free) kept devouring every drop of food. We had NO leftover food at the wedding and full bellied and happy guests. In addition to amazing, I repeat, AMAZING food, the service Gusto on the Go provided us with was beyond exceptional. Erin worked closely with me through the entire planning process to help with dessert catering, dishware etc rental, and she helped me surprise my groom with his very own popcorn bar. I would highly highly recommend Gusto on the Go. If you have the opportunity to book them and work with them — pull the trigger! If not, crash a wedding/event that they are catering just so you have the opportunity to taste their food. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

We hired Gusto on the Go to cater a welcome reception that we hosted the evening before our wedding. It was an informal event with guests coming and going as they pleased, so the food truck came in handy. Our guests were able to get hot food exactly when they wanted it. And it was great everything came in disposable trays so we didn’t have to worry about renting plates/silverware/napkins. Erin was great about responding quickly to all my emails. She also had great advice about menu selections and quantities(which I was really clueless about), and her predictions for what we needed turned out to be right on point for our event. Most importantly, the food was great! We served sandwiches, fries, a few appetizers, and cookies for our event, and we were getting great feedback about all of it all night! Although we ordered extra, we didn’t have much left over because so many people went back for seconds! And the portions were large, so it wasn’t because of that! I’d recommend Gusto on the Go to anyone! Great deal for the quality and service!

«Wow. That was the best wedding food we have ever tasted.» Direct quote from my best man. Many others complimented Megan and I’s choice of food for our party. Gusto was awesome. They arrived on time, worked with us on the small details and executed! The presentation, one of my fiancé’s favorite things in life, was phenomenal. Thank you Gusto and Erin for making our event so special. Dang that food was impressive!!!

My new hubs and I just had the absolute pleasure of working with Gusto On The Go Bistro as caterers for our wedding. They exceeded all expectations and everyone we spoke with said it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding! Professional, reliable, but above all else their food is unbelievably tasty. We decided on «heavy Hors d’oeurves» set up at food stations(as opposed to any formal seating), with one dish served out of the truck for some extra character(because it’s a super cute truck!) Had the Caprese Skewers, Bruschetta, Mac + Cheese Balls, Chicken + Waffles, and the chicken, pulled pork and tri-tip Sliders. All of it was SO good! We partied well into the night so when Gusto left they gave us all of the uneaten food(which definitely got eaten by the end of the night). Long story short, go with these guys for your next event. You’ll be glad you did and might even earn yourself the reputation of having thrown«the BEST wedding party anyone had ever been to.» We received his feedback from so many of our guests, and we all know the great food was a huge factor.

We utilized Gusto on the Go Bistro for our end of the year company picnic and it was awesome! The food was made to order, fresh, and the service was great! We normally have at least 1⁄3 of our staff complain about the food at our events, and this time after the event all we heard was praise! Well worth it!

Gusto on the Go stops weekly near my office and every week I count down until Thursday. Their food is so fresh and unlike any other food truck food I’ve had. The service is great and they manage to accommodate the lines of people very well! If you haven’t tried their Chicken Bistro Sandwich yet, it is a MUSTHAVE! So delicious and just the right amount of food to keep you energized until the end of the business day. I have already convinced all of my coworkers to leave their lunches home on Thursdays and to join in the Gusto goodness. Thank you for the wonderful food and service!

I decided to try out this little food truck today and I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome :) At first glance of the menu, there were not many choices for me to choose from since I tend to stay low on the carbs in order to prevent my bloodsugar from spiking. However, the chicken sando sounded delicious and all I really needed to do was remove the bread from the equation. I timidly asked the cashier if they would be able to entertain my request, and to my surprise, she had no problem altering the order to fit my needs. Instead of a sandwhich, they made it into a chicken salad with yummy tomatoes, cheeses and an avocado pesto dressing on the side. It was delicious :) I will definitely go back for more!

I had the incredible fortune of having a friend bring me a pulled pork sandwich while I was a referee at the North County Grape Crush AYSO soccer tournament. It was off the hook. We are going to be using them for events in the future. Absolutely fantastic.

I work at a San Luis Obispo office park, and we get a lot of food trucks. Gusto is by far my favorite. I was enticed when I saw French onion soup bites on the menu(they are delicious), and I have been working my way through the main courses. The caprese sandwich and French dip are excellent, and I’m eager to try other options. What’s more, they are very active online, frequently posting on Facebook for the benefit of us worker bees who are wondering whether they’ve pulled up outside the office yet. That’s a small but major plus. The gist, though, is that these folks make great food. Fresh, tasty ingredients — and a pure appreciation for them — set Gusto apart. They are on the pricier end of food truck fare, but I’m willing to pay for good food and good service. I am the kind of person who brings my lunch to work more often than not, and Gusto has become the good meal I treat myself to each week. Keep up the good work.

I’ve had Gusto’s a few times at various events(I love that they show up everywhere from kids fundraisers with customized menus for kids to up scale winery events!). My current favorites are the Gusto Burger and mac n cheese balls. Delicious. I like that it seems like they are always thinking about something new or different to add to the menu… and not the standard stuff everyone else serves. The other review is right… everything feels fresh which is not usually what I think of from food trucks. As they were handing me my Gusto Burger through the window I could smell the fresh basil and creamy balsamic. Totally lived up to the aroma! And the ciabatta bread was awesome… important as the bread makes the burger/sandwich for me. Fries were addicting too. Plus the«Mom & Pop» ownership commitment shows in the service. I’m looking forward to trying the rest of their menu…

MAC N’ CHEESE! Enough said. Not to mention their super indulgent fried french onion soup bites are so delicious too! Great idea! I love how fresh their menu is and not the same old stuff you see everywhere else. There service is super friendly and fast. They are great choice for a filling, delicious and healthy meal!

I’m going to admit some bias up-front: I want to like Gusto on the Go for a lot of reasons. They work closely with some people I genuinely care about, and I like to see the local foodtruck scene succeed in general. That said, Gusto’s food is kind of a mixed bag. I’m writing this review in the hopes they see it and use it as an opportunity to improve. I tried them today for the first time. My husband bought the fish tacos and the caprese sandwich, and we shared both. The total bill for the sandwich and the tacos was $ 17, and didn’t include any sides. Both entrees were of average size. As far as I’m concerned, $ 8-ish per entrée is a fair price for restaurant(or good foodtruck) quality food. The problem is I don’t think Gusto’s quality is quite«there» yet for the items we tried. Fish Tacos: the tacos were of a decent size, but limited in flavor and texture. Gusto is using cold, un-authentic(or cheap) tortillas. Call me a Mexican food snob, but there’s a *lot* of awesome tacos on the Central Coast. Trader Joe’s(or Smart and Final … ?) tortillas are not going to cut it for me. Also, tortillas need to be either heated on the stove or steamed, period. On the plus side, the fish itself was good, and the mango and spicy sour cream sauce works as well! Unfortunately, all these ingredients turned into a very same-texture experience. I’d recommend throwing some radishes in there, for crunch and spice? Something. Caprese Sandwich: The sandwich is a very good size. Gusto makes their own homemade mozzarella, which is definitely the highlight of the sandwich. The fresh basil on our sandwich was a really nice touch. The tomatoes were OK — both my husband and I noticed that they seemed bland, like grocery store tomatoes. In an area like ours with tons of fresh produce available(and a Farmer’s Market going somewhere in the county daily) you’d think there might be better tomatoes on what amounts to a tomato and cheese sandwich! Where the caprese sandwich could really improve is the bread. The bread they used for ours was terrible. Just a cheap, soft, hoagie roll. Something purchased in bulk from Sysco? Sure seemed like it. Even a bakery roll from Vons(or similar) would be an improvement. I know I’m leveling some harsh-sounding criticism here, but I’m hoping it’s seen not as «mean,» but for what it is – an attempt to help. The foodtruck movement is all about bringing awesome, artisan or gourmet food to the streets. If the food’s not awesome, what’s the point?
