I had the«opportunity» to eat here twice and both times I thought I would never return. It’s a restaurant that serves«Mexican food» according to the outside sign. This former Prings restaurant was changed(new owners) to an Italian and bow a recent change to Mexican food. Both times When I entered the restaurant I had to seat myself. There were only two or three tables that were occupied. The very poor service waiter took my order for a burrito and beverage. He came back with the beverage and bowl of chips and salsa. The chips were warm and the salsa was a «pico de gallo» variety. The ingredients seem to be freshly made. Almost all the regular entres had a single price and soda was $ 1.50, So, the price of the meal comes out to an even $ 10.00 plus tax and gratuiity. With only three tables being occupied, I thought I would get great service from the one waiter. WRONG! After serving my burrito, the next time he spoke to me was when I got up to leave. Back to the food review: the chips and salsa was very good. The burrito was of ample size. The cook did not layer the ingredients. There was a large scoop of refried beans, a half scoop of Spanish rice, 3 or 4 bits of chicken, a half teaspoon of guacamole and a partial slice of cheese. The burrito was neatly rolled. A garnish of shredded lettuce and half, thin slice of a tomato were set next to the burrito. I cut into the burrito to see what was inside. I quickly mixed the inside ingredients together. The burrito could have been a little warmer as the refried beans tasted like it came right out iif the can and not properly heated. I ordered a chicken burrito and it came with 3 or 4 bits of chicken… Each bit the size of a pencil eraser. By the time I finished my meal, I was the only one left in the restaurant. My conclusion is that you’re better off at Taco Bell!

Tuscany“s cuisine has gone south(to mexico) lacking funds, the owners have not changed the name, just the menu and some minor decorations within the eatery. music: country & western, mex, music menu: mexican breakfasts, burritos, plates(8.50) menu to be expanded. sampling: steak burrito(6.25) –real steak strips, not burger meat nor gristly flap meat –also had lettuce, tomato, mayo, rice, beans, and salsa on the side. –very big burrito, ingredients tasted fresh. –burrito got cold fast. frijoles refritos: –eatery empty at dinner time –lots of parking in lot –friendly, semifast service –may repeat when i see someone else in here.

Went for their brunch. It was absolutely awful! The champagne was so old it was brown. The food is sitting for too long. I would never return.

Let me start by saying San Leandro needs more and better places to eat We went on a Tuesday for their buffet, and we were VERY disappointed. The place was empty except for one other couple, but we thought maybe it’s just timing, a bunch of people could have just left. No, they never came in the first place. I felt like we were eating leftovers! The food was not fresh, and had been under heat lamps on the buffet for a while. The spaghetti had pieces that were on their way to being in their dry, uncooked form again. The lettuce for the salad bar was wilted. The best thing I had was the dinner roll! Pretty sad. Thank goodness it was cheap;$ 9.99 icluded a glass of wine and a dish of ice cream. I think it needs to go back to being Pring’s Coffee Shop.

My friends and I love to come here, almost every week! The buffet spread is very good since it includes a dish of fish/chicken/or other meat aside from the variety of fresh pasta dishes. Drinks and dessert are part of the deal. Don’t forget to ask for their yummy oven-fresh bread! This is a sweet deal for $ 9.99!

I’m pretty iffy about this place. It’s a buffet so I’m not expecting quality food, but at the same time, I’m not expecting food you can easily whip up at home. It’s just too bad Tuscany’s fall on the latter end. The entrance is weird! We entered the restaurant on a Friday night and wasn’t sure where to go. The door led to two paths, and at the end of each path there was no hostess. Just stand around and wait until one of the servers see you, and you’ll be seated. I saw a lot of confused people so should have added it to my «Quick Tip»…alas! Oh, and that they also have dessert! No dessert bar, but it comes at the end, right before the check. Still yumyum in my tumtum! Now on to food. There’s only one stand, serving 8 different items. The BEST thing here is the roasted beef and mashed potatoes. If you eat these two items together, there WILL be an orgasm in your mouth! Everything else, meaning the pasta, is so-so; and def. pass on the Alfredo and rice-like-mush in the corner. The only pasta I really liked was the Penne Picante. The meatballs for the spaghetti weren’t bad either. Also a no-no on the soups – way too watered down. A plus is that they have a fresh salad bar. The $ 9.95 buffet came with a glass of wine, but don’t get wine. The bf and I hated our cheap wine so much that we couldnt even finish half the glass. I would opt for a mix drink. Service is great, but nothing truly exceptional. They had two servers that night, but seemed like they might have needed more? Oh, btw, the owners of the restaurant are not Italian. I believe they are Indian? Pakistani? Persian? It doesnt change my view of the place, but just thought that that it was an interesting fact. Will I come back? If I want lotsa cheap Italian food, but I think I will pass, esp when it comes down to the buffet. It’s not something I get a craving for or something Kraft Mac n’ Cheese can’t solve.

I have no negative thoughts about this place. It is a casual dining restaurant yet it carries some elegant characteristics to it. Apparently this has been other restaurants before and it didnt work out for them but as you can see they are making attempts to overcome the negative and turn it into the positive! The service was excellent. Very curteous and prompt. That is usually my biggest concern about a restaurant, if the food is great but the service is crap than it really affects how I feel about a place. The food was good, not gourmet but good. I cannot complain at all about the food it was still satisfying. The price was outstanding! We went for the buffet and it was such a great deal! I hope this new place works out because I would like to come back again. There are other options for this place, it has a bar area that can totally be made into a happening night spot in the evenings and even have some live bands. Just an idea… but overall I like this place. :)

As you read in the other posts — This venue has come an gone a few times before its reopening of Feb 2011. … and in March 2011 they launched their Pasta Bar — and that’s what I want to boast about here. If you want reviews about their main menu read the other posts… MYREVIEWFEATURES their 5 star ALLYOUCANEATPASTABAR for 9.99 — 4 to 10pm week nights It comes with a drink —(and not a soft drink, its can be wine beer or a mixed drink) I was impressed If we compare this home town Bar and Grill to the other pasta bars in the east bay like Fresh Choice and the bottomless soup and salad at Olive Gardens — TUSCANI beats them all. The salad bar is complete and filling The soups are freshly made by the chef Deep Singh Each Pasta is freshly made — and always refreshed if its been on the steam plate too long. I started by making a light salad — not too big — but enough to get my meal a good tasty start with home made bread or roll. Second course was nice bowl of homemade Minestrone soup The chef offers two soups always fresh and very tasty — not to over whelming. topped with some cheeses. Pasta Course — I started with a light slice of Lasagna Bolognese with a homemade meat sauce that is great, very tasty layered with cheese — that works well — not so filling — but perfect. Next was some Round Cheese Ravioli and a side of steam veggies — it was perfect not over cocked, and always kept fresh at the buffet. Then i tried a small portion of Penne Picante tossed in sun dried tomatoes and vodka — along side some Linguine alla Vongle with baby clams — very well done/ I asked for a cranberry drink that was refilled two times. and at the end of the meal the chef offered me a slice of his freshly made cheese cake(it wasn’t huge but just right for a high carb meal). all this for 10.00 bucks and my tip. Their should be lines to get into this Diner soon. until then get down to this classic spot in San Leandro. near Bay Fair Bart, formly PRINGS in a different era Its a great dinner deal, and their main menu is getting great reviews. from what I hear by the time you are reading this, the Grill may have added a Lunch buffet as well. so check that out. This place has taken the classic Pring’s location and reopened as La Bella Italia and failed. It then reopened as a different Italian restaurant and promptly closed(another Fail) now it has again reinvented itself as ANOTHER Italian restaurant with probably the same owners.(when I drove by one afternoon under the«new» names, I saw the same guy in the parking lot. They say location is everything and me thinks if they have failed twice with an Italian restaurant at that location, I suspect a third fail is on the way.
