The Bite Café in San Leandro is one of the best coffee and sandwich shop around. They have amazing hot foods, like Quesadillas, BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Lasagna and more… And the owner of the Café’is a real pleasent woman, it is a delight even to interact with her. Healthy food for the neighborhood. Bravo!

Woohoo! I’m so excited to be the first to review the Bite. Part of the REACH Ashland Youth Center, the Bite Café offers much-needed healthy food alternatives to the Ashland neighborhood. I’ve had their lasagna, chicken quesadilla, BLT wrap, smoothies, salads. — all so delicious and for a really good price. Full meals for $ 5 or less. Oh, and they launched a breakfast menu, too, if you wanna jumpstart your day with some breakfast goodness. They’ve got burritos, sandwiches, and cereal. Also, there’s lots of parking, lots of tables, great lighting, fun atmosphere. :) The five star clencher, though, is the café’s owner True. She’s super nice, sweet, and really cares about the quality of food she’s serving. True and her cooking def make you feel right at home. The only thing is that there aren’t really any signs out on the street about the café, so it can be easy to miss. But, don’t miss out! The café welcomes all people from the public, though the rest of the youth center is only open to members. Any neighbors who are curious about this magnificent youth center, too, can get a good look from the café. Some tips: cash only and expect to wait like 5 minutes or so for your food. They cook to order which is fast, but don’t expect grab-and-go. I’d def recommend this place! It helps your growling stomach and helps a great business.
