Scott Alcalay – Magician

We met Scott on the USS Hornet, on Father’s Day. He is very talented and funny.
We definitely plan to see him again and even see if he is available for daughter’s birthday party.

Scott performed at my son’s 13^th birthday party in World Gourmet in Fremont. We loved his show. Everyone was laughing at his comedy and tricks. We had at least 100 guests, teens, adults, children, and he catered to everyone. He went to each table and performed tricks to the guests. The children love the balloons and bunny tricks, the teens love the rope tricks and I like the joke about the half sisters. I’m still laughing every time I think of it. Scott is awesome! He is a must to hire for parties.
He is a little pricey but worth it.

I have seen Scott perform quite a bit and he did my 60^th and my daughters 40^th birthday party. He’s always fun and professional. a must book.

Unilocal is the most amazing thing. I try to write a review when i find something is really great or really bad. This one falls under the really great category.
When all of our son’s classmates heard we were having a magician they were really exicited. We looked into a lot of magician. We had heard that some of the big time magician (ones that do corporate shows or national stages) felt that kids birthday parties were beneath them. Looking at Scott’s reviews and videos, i didnt get that sense. The video that Scott posted on this website is pretty close to what we got.
He came over early just in case there was traffic. We took advantage of that and had him start early because the kids were getting antsy. The magic show that he did was similar to his video. It wasn’t over the top (levitation, disappearing car, etc.), but the show was really good. Thats because he did a lot of comedy as well. Our sons are 5 and 7 but i think he could keep even older kids engaged. I really like the way he made our son (and his younger brother) the stars of the show. It wasn’t just magic, but actually a pretty good comedy routine. AT the end he even made animal balloons. I think Scott’s experience as a school teachers helps him keep kids engaged. Our younger son wants to have a magician at his birthday also. We will definitely be using Scott. I’ll try and post some pictures when i get a chance.
Scott’s prices were pretty reasonable. He charged us a bit for driving out to Los Altos, but it was worth it. The one thing we noticed at other kids birthday partys (at pump it up, laser tag, etc) is that the birthday child get’s lost in the party. Since the whole act revolves around your son, he gets to be the star of the show. The other thing is that we got to connect with the parents of the other kids. Lots of moms and dad’s that we never meet were curious about the show. We had only 1 kid not come (out of a class of 20). I highly recommended doing a magic show (expecially Scott) for your kids birthday if they are in elementary school.

Doesn’t matter if your looking for magic, séance, tarot card reader or fortune teller; Scott can provide the magic. He has been entertaining audiences at Playland Not at the Beach since we opened our doors in 2008.
