A few months ago, we purchased a home with lots of stone finishes and accents that were worn out and dull looking. We called New Century Marble based on a friend’s referral and had their stone care department completely clean, polish and seal all of the interior and exterior stone in our home. The real estate agent who sold the house to us should have done this before the sale, because our friends and family who come in now can’t believe it is the same place! I am very happy with the work new century did! Thanks!

Terrible service! I walked around the entire showroom floor twice before I went up to the receptionist to ask for help, who by the way did not acknowledge the fact that I walked in. The man who attempted to assisted me did not introduce himself, did not bother to ask what I was looking for and made no attempt to even seem interested in learning more about my bathroom remodel. People who walk into showrooms like this are probably not window shoppers and are genuinely interested in making a purchase. So every customer who walks in should be seen as a great opportunity to make a sale. No wonder this place is dead. No thank you.

Went into new century a few months ago to order some new plumbing fixtures. I worked with a gentleman named Dan. Very nice guy and super helpful. You can tell that he really cares about his clients in making sure that they are very happy. Dan gave me competitive pricing on all the items I needed. I am very happy with new century and I will use them again in the future.

New Century Marble & Granite is a wonderful company. My wife and I used them to remodel our Kitchen and master bathroom. They have a large selection of stone and they did a great job on helping us select the stone that was right for our home. The final product came out amazing and totally transformed our home. We recommend them to our friends and family.

The team at New Century, particularly Jason and Joey are extremely knowledgeable. They seem to do large and small jobs for all tastes. We have used them mutliple times for bathrooms and kitchens with very good results. Quotes were accurate, orders came in on time. When something was not source-able via NCMG they would tell me to source it somewhere else. Honest and trustworthy. Excellent eye for detail. Jason can come up with solutions even experienced remodellers have not come up with. I would recommend these guys to anyone doing either a bathroom remodel or a complete home tear down and build-out.

I went into New Century Marble to check out their marble and granite. They didn’t have the marble I was looking for I ended up using them for my bathroom fixtures. Dan Paggie was very helpful and patient with me. He answered all my questions in detail and was never annoyed at me asking too much. The only complaint I have was that the manufacture of the faucets were a few days late, I understand that it was out of new century’s control but I was hoping to get everything ready for the house warming party. Haha If you want excellent service go to Dan Paggie at new century marble! I will definitely go back again if I need anything kitchen and bath.

My husband and I had 2 bathrooms remodeled. The work they did was very disappointing. In of the bathrooms they made the entry door smaller without telling me they were doing that. The granite had corners that was not finished. They told me that when i remodeled my kitchen that they would fix it. I would never consider them to do my kitchen because the job they did to my bathroom. So they would not comeback to fix it. The owner just wanted to get the job to fix my kitchen. The owner was trying to change the price over half way through the project. The owner is very rude, he does take a long time to return a call. He has walked away when talking to me and has hanged up on me on the phone. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I had 2 bathrooms done with regrets. They have a nice selection on items and were friendly when i went in. I made the decision to go with them for my bathrooms everything was straight down hill. The biggest mistake i made was to use them.

My husband and I went in yesterday to look at their cabinets. A lady by the name of Tania greeted us within 5 seconds of walking in. She came by asked us if we had any questions which we did and she patiently answered all of them. We found a few cabinets designs that we really liked so we asked for a quote. Tania stated that if we can mail our measurements in she could better give us a more accurate quote. I am a little excited that we found some cabinets that could be potentially be our new cabinets so we decided to do our research with this company and see how well they have worked with people. So I was really disappointed and surprised they have such poor reviews. It is a bit discouraging although when reading them it «seems» mostly a customer service issue. I guess so bad people decided not to move forward with them as I did not find many reviews about their finished work. So it is hard to say whether they will do a good job or not. Since we did not have the bad customer service experience(yet) we are cautiously moving forward for a quote. However, I can say so far the sales lady Tania was really nice and informative to us. So maybe their management is cracking them into shape. The rest of our experience is yet to be determined. I will come back and update this post if we move forward with them. So far service is good.

Noticed a few stains on our kitchen countertop. Called up New Century to see if they could come out and possibly repair the stains. Service was prompt in repairing our granite top. Thank you and Jason for coming out and fixing our table. It is better than new! As always, I highly recommend NCKB for all stone work to my friends and neighbors. You have excellent service and workmanship.

I left a long critic yesterday about how unprofessional and rude the company is, particularly the manager. Well, after further investigation by my husband, I now have something else to add t and I am afraid it does not make them/him look any better. We called EBMUD and contrary to what the manager — who happens to also be the owner — kept repeating to me over and over and over and over again, my neighbor has the same water supply that I have, and so does he. As a matter of fact, WEALLSHARETHESAMEWATER supply in Alameda County and the water is NOT hard water. On top of that, it is counted as the best quality water in the entire state of california. So, in view of that, we sprinkled lots of water all over our marble to check out if indeed it was even water that stained it once it evaporated. Surprise surprise, 24 hours later, water has evaporated and NOSTAIN is to be seen. Not even a hint of one. Whatever stained our one month old marble in a kitchen hardly used lately, it wasn’t water, it wasn’t acid, it wasn’t lemon or vinegar or whatever else. We now believe it was poorly coated/protected to begin with. Perhaps it was stained before it was being coated. It most certainly is NOT anything WE did. What upsets us most though, is the persistent denial AND bad faith AND ignorance of the man in charge there. A man who doesn’t know about the local water supply, a man who believes water quality varies from one household to another!!! Not to mention his refusal to help, his refusal to understand and his refusal to be gracious about it in sharing even the slightest of responsibility. Responsibility of information, responsibility of standing behind one’s work within weeks of completion! I advice all of you to look elsewhere for work in your house. There are many great marble and granite experts in the east bay and I wish I had researched them all before giving my trust to New Century.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that I’m not the only one leaving this place a poor review. Here I was thinking that I was being discriminated against for looking young. It turns out, they have no understanding of what customer service is. Although they seem to offer a huge selection of products and services, my boyfriend and I were not greeted even in the time that we spent walking around the entire showroom. There were employees in the business at the time, but I guess they just didn’t want our money. But it worked out alright, another business that actually gave us the time of day received our business. It’s probably for the best because what would I have even expected from a business that ignored customers. Do not come here and save yourself the trouble of raising your blood pressure. Not worth the hassle.

Wow! this place to a joke! Nice showroom, but the staff has zero professionalism. I was there for what seemed like forever before anyone even greeted me, I heard two people fighting in the back and the only guy in the plumbing showroom was on a personal call on his cell phone, he didn’t even look up when I walked into the area. So unprofessional! The lady who finally did greet me was nice enough but didn’t know anything, so I was asked to fill out a form with my information. I was interested in new countertops and some plumbing fixtures for my kitchen and bathrooms… I NEVER heard back. Total waste of my time! Then I was talking to a friend of mine who is a designer she told me that her family friend ordered countertops and kitchen cabinets from them earlier in the year, the coutertops look great but the person who ordered her cabinets(who calls herself a kitchen designer, named Hope) made one mistake after another, it took forever to complete the job! They had a hard time getiing a straight answer from her on anything, she always said yes, but nothing ever got done! It was a nightmare! I think she’s still missing a few things. After hearing this story I’m glad they never called me, I went to anther company and they took great care of me.

Worst customer service possible. I walked in and took them 20 minutes to help us while there were no other customers around. Once they acknowledged us, all they did was take our name and info down and said they would call us back to get our info. Obviously, we moved on to another place by then. 2 weeks passed by and then they called us for our info. I mentioned they were 2 weeks too late but still gave them our bathroom info to see their price. I haven’t heard back since and this was in March 2013.

I used New Century for our first home kitchen granite counter project. Had a good experience with them and decided to use them for our new kitchen counter remodel. I knew I wanted quartz counters and narrowed my selection to Caesarstone. After meeting with Keith at New Century to discuss my project and get a rough quote I walked into the Caesarstone showroom next door. I got referrals for fabricators and compared quotes. Keith beat the other bids and having done wonderful work with New Century before I felt comfortable moving forward with New Century to fabricate and install Caesarstone counters. The counters were installed and I immediately noticed flaws(finger nail deep gash in mitered corner, hairline scratches, and a small gash on top) in the island and notified New Century. New Century had a Caesarstone rep come look at the counter and it was determined the flaws were not repairable. Following that visit, Jason(owner of New Century) came to see the counter. He agreed to replace the stone.

I have done several kitchen and bath remodels and have used New Century for my stone slab fabrication. Most of the time I bid the project out and New Century always has come in the lowest or comparable. If there’s a mistake they’ve taken care of it. They even, one time, created a bullnose on a 24″ stretch ‘in the field’ from a raw cut that I asked them to do. No questions and they didn’t charge me. This latest remodel, which I’m still in the process of completing, has been especially pleasant because we — me and my contractor, are using New Century’s tile guys for the kitchen, bath and terrace. The tile setters are new but absolutely fantastic craftsmen. It’s Bero and his assistant who doesn’t speak English. They’re from the old Yugoslavia and they treat their craft with pride. It’s hard to find great tile guys and I strongly recommend them. Although I don’t want anyone else to use them because then they will be too busy to work for/with me!

I stumbled upon New Century when I got caught in a huge, non-moving traffic jam on my way down to a big box store. I was looking for bathroom fixtures a step above what Home Depot was offering, but not high end. Like Expo used to carry.(We ended up using Kohler brands for almost everything, to give you a sense of the stuff we were looking for.) When I walked in and saw all the high-end stuff displayed, I thought I’d made a huge mistake, but I sat with Dan for about an hour and told him what I wanted and he was great. He was spot-on in his recommendations, helping me save money here so I could spend a little more there, and then checked the availability of everything. When I left to go talk to my husband and contractor, and he didn’t pressure me to «buy now!» or anything. Short story, we ordered everything there except tile(I already knew what I wanted) and when I checked their prices online, I found that they were among the lowest around. With fantastic service and no shipping charges if I picked stuff up at their shop. Can’t be beat. This is a great resource for even low/moderate level renovators.

Remodel/home improvement jobs are daunting and a significant $$ and time investment. If it’s not a DYI project, the greatest challenge is finding a contractor one can trust. The first criterion is having someone that follows up and doesn’t leave you hanging. In my experience with New Century, they failed — did not pass GO; do not collect $$. If you’re looking for a bathroom/kitchen remodeler/supplier, my recommendation is that you pass on New Century. After making the decision to remodel my bathroom a.s.a.p, I visited New Century to view their product line and was greeted by Kieth who gave me the one-stop-shopping spiel(products & contractors). I made arrangements for New Century reps to visit my home to give me an estimate. Keith and Jason stopped by and discussed the job with me. We ended this meeting with two action items:(1) me: send pictures of my style and ideas; and(2) New Century: provide an estimate. I emailed the photos that same afternoon. However, now over a month later, NOONE from New Century has bothered to follow-up. I first waited patiently thinking this would take some time, but nothing, nada, zip. I did consider initiating the follow-up, go looking for that estimate they promised, but as the consumer ready to make a substantial $$ investment, better thinking tells me to move on. This is likely a preview for what the working relationship would be. I’m still in need for a contractor. Any recommendations?
