I have Catholic guilt. I experience it a lot(thanks 10 yrs of catholic school) especially when writing negative reviews *cringe*. Before writing this, I called the owner to let him know of my issue so that he could fix it versus me writing this. While I’m sure many will disagree with this particular post, I’ve decided to intentionally keep it a bit vague. I want this place to succeed. I want San Leandro to thrive, especially in the small business sector. He didn’t care for my feedback. I hope he sees this and improves the quality of his product. I will say though that this place is not affiliated whatsoever with Rock and Roll Sushi on Floresta as written in other reviews which sucks because that’s what actually brought me there in the first place. Here’s to your improvement, Gogo… may it be swift and glorious… please.

I still love this place and regardless of a couple negatives I know I’ll always eat here which is why I’m still giving it 5 stars. Negatives: 1. Spicy pork isn’t so spicy and portions are smaller compared to the chicken teriyaki but it still tastes good! 2. Soft shell crab in my roll was burnt but I happen to like some things burnt 3. Not enough sauce on the katsu! Wish it was served on the side instead– but even then I’d probably still ask for 2 sauce containers… Favorite Rolls(no particular order): 1.Tiger Roll(Baked and spicy) 2. Ninja Roll 3. Better than OK roll 4. Monkey Roll 5. White Magic Roll 6. Fresh Salmon and Avocado hand roll(I request, not on menu) Other favorites: 1. Chicken Teriyaki– always tender and great portion! 2. Gal at the register is always friendly!

I love this place. I probably go about. hmmm once a week if not more! They have a picture menu which makes ordering much easier. They are very flexible so if something doesn’t seem like its a match, ask them to switch something on it to make it just the way you like. They are mid priced. Not too too high but definitely not cheap. You get exactly what you pay for though. Fish taste fresh, place is always clean and overall, I enjoy myself on every visit. Its a win win for me!

Happy they opened a new sushi place right by me. The portions are really generous, the prices are all really good. I ordered 2 rolls, a philly roll and the go go roll which were huge. I was able to share with someone else and still be really full . Update: I’ve been here a good amount of times already and I like to report that the service is always good and consistent and so are the rolls. They’re slowly starting to replace fatfish in my favorite cheap sushi places in San Leandro. Really good rolls !

Great service Great sushi Limited seating, hence the name of the place. Great menu as well. Would love to see more vegan/vegetarian rolls too!

Every single time I come here I leave a bit sadder and my most recent experience may be my last. I told my friend that this was my go-to take-out sushi place between the good rice, decent fish, and nice service. While the service and rice were still ok, the fish quality was just plain bad. My friend ordered the roll that came with a variety of fish and ended up having a stomach ache(she only ate a prepackaged salad that day that she eats everyday). She also showed me the incredibly large amount of rice that the roll had. I was embarrassed and hoped to show her my order was better but it was just as disappointing. I went back to the White Magic roll that I really enjoyed the first time but the fish quality was awful, the garlic flavor didn’t come out at all, and overall it was just plain bad. The chirashi improved slightly in terms of size. The fish slices were slightly thicker but the tuna’s color was running into the rice which is never a good sign and the rest of the fish quality was fairly meh. Overall I’m sad to see this place go so downhill over the last few months. I will return in a few months to give it another shot because I love the convenience of this restaurant.

I came here just for the $ 13.95 Charashi Sushi because where in the world do you see prices like that. With tax, the bill came out to be $ 15.35. The charashi sushi came with a side salad, seaweed salad, rice, 1 shrimp, 3 pieces of salmon, 3 pieces of tuna, 3 pieces of hamachi, and 3 pieces of something that looks like red snapper(Not a fish guru, so I can’t tell what fish that is). Fish was fresh, but I tasted better quality fish at other places. The portion of fish that they give you is significantly smaller than ones at other sushi restaurant. In the pictures, you can see that each piece of fish looks like half slices, but I can’t complain because the overall meal was very filling and it was the right amount of food for me. Next time, I am coming back to try their sushi rolls. I like that they have a menu with pictures of all their sushi rolls. Makes it easier to pick what roll you want when you can see how they look like. Also, this restaurant is SMALL– four tables total in the restaurant, so it is not recommended to dine in unless you come at the right time. Like their name– GOGOSUSHI is the right place to order your sushi to go, which I will be doing next time.

This is my fist experience with sushi, but I can say it has become my husband and I favorite location. Fast and convenient when we’re hungry. The girl at the front is so sweet, my first visit she showed me all the public favorites and gave me details on the ones I should try and even circled them on the menu. Great customer service and delicious sushi. What more Can I ask for.

Very small place to eat sushi at. My boyfriend and I were hungry after he got off of work and so looked up some places to eat and after deciding on sushi, we chose this place. The ratings were good and it was only about 1.5 miles from where we were at so it was a no brainer. Gogo Sushi is small. Don’t get me wrong, their menu is packed full of selections from sushi rolls to appetizers to bento boxes, but the overall size of this restaurant is small with only 4 tables to sit at. And the bathroom requires a key so heads up on that. I forgot what my boyfriend ordered, but I got their sake maki which is a simple salmon roll and their Snow White roll. Both were good and the price came up to around $ 15 I believe. It’s all pretty much self serve here. They have soy sauce at the tables and then there’s a water and tea dispenser to the side. Overall, come back? Maybe? It’s good but we’re not in this area enough to really say yes.

Better then I expected! Very impress. It was on a Wednesday roughly around 2pm, odd time to eat sushi in my opinion, either a late lunch or early one but anyways make this helpful as possible I will list the pros and cons. Firstly I would like to say it’s self serve more on the go type thing, no waitress no fancy dim lights or koi fish in the pond to look at. I consider it like a fast food sushi but not fast food if you know what I mean. Pros: Yes FRESH sushi, clean dining, tv, natural lighting, fast and friendly service from a male, without hesitation he offered cups for water since he saw I didn’t order a soda/beverage. Cons: pricey Not much of a bad experience here! I advise you to go if you’re in a hurry for some sushi and no fancy date!

Gogo won’t be my go to place. It is a very basic restaurant and found their menu limited. No bento boxes and their rolls didn’t seem too appealing to me. Chirashi for $ 13.95 is decent deal. They say close at 9:30 on weekends but they closed early, I got their at 9:10 and they closed while I waited close to 9:15 or so. I was hoping this place would be hidden gem(and it is hidden behind Jack in the Box) but can’t say they delivered. Not bad but not a stand out either.

Very small location with good variety of rolls with pictures that make easy to decide. Inexpensive sushi is always a plus. Gogo sushi has the same concept as fat fish sushi. Place your order, sit down(4 tables in all), cashier will ring when your food is read for you to get up your seat and pick up and sit back down. At least at fat fish they bring your food to the table. You serve your own water and grab your utensils. I’m sure everyone that loves bento box is used to two or three item bento. Not at gogo sushi! They only have one item bento. Which means that is your want cali roll, sashimi, or tempura with your bento you have to order it on the side. Pieces for the chirashi bowl are small. Decent food and prices but I wouldn’t want eat here again because of the grab it yourself experience. Next time I’ll do take-out and stick to the rolls.

Located in the Green House Shopping Center right off of 880. Located between Jack-In-The-Box and the Goodwill. Plenty of parking in the shopping center parking lot. The interior has limited seating. All the rolls are displayed on a bored with the listed ingredients and pictures. The rolls most common used ingredients are Cream Cheese, Unagi, and/or Spicy Tuna. There’s an additional menu located above the cashier. Order first then sit down and wait for them to call your number. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki meal and upgraded to the California Roll option for $ 3 more($ 4.50 for California Roll alone but save $ 1.50 in the meal upgrade). Meal comes with miso soup, rice and salad. I realized after leaving I never got the miso soup but didn’t mind. The serving size is pretty generous with the salad, Teri Chicken, and rice. The chicken was nicely charbroiled and very tender. The salad was served with a tasty miso dressing which wasn’t thick and creamy or runny. The California Roll seemed consistent like any other Japanese Restaurant. The rolls had a lot of rice. I came in during another night and ordered 3 Rolls Togo. Only one table of two were waiting for their order when I arrived. Not sure why the delay but I waited over 30 minutes for my order of 3 Rolls(Giants, Spider, and Sumo Roll). The Giants roll had a good rice ratio which was nicely packed. The Spider and Sumo Roll had too much rice. The rice on those two rolls were also packed very loosely. So when I picked up the sushi it would fall apart and be in pieces before getting into my mouth. I recommend the hot plates. Definitely want to come back to try the other hot plates. They are closed on Sunday’s.

Definitely not my favorite sushi place of all time, I’ll admit, but worth stopping by to grab some Japanese noms on-the-go! A good option to keep in mind for those times where you want sushi and you’re in a pinch and are more likely than not already in the area. 1) Overall Space & Layout — This is not a place where you go with a huge group of people if your intent is sitting down. As its name implies, they expect you to order your food — via phone or in person — and go go elsewhere to eat your food. There are tables, but it’s super limited. So if you have the same expectation to dine in and you want to eat during rushes… think again. It’s probably not going to happen. 2) Customer Service — Honestly can’t say much since I opted for take out and the only words really exchanged between staff and myself were my meal choices. Nonetheless, they were hospitable and friendly but nothing too memorable. 3) Food Quality — The rolls I’ve tasted were pretty good but nothing amazing or something you’d drive over to the Manor area just to get your hands on. Didn’t taste super fresh but since this isn’t some fancy sushi restaurant, not too big of a deal. Portions are okay — but I might just have a really big fish loving appetite — since part of me wishes they were bigger. 4) Parking & Location — In the Greenhouse Marketplace, there’s plenty of parking. It really shouldn’t be a problem.

Came here after seeing the sign SUSHI&BBQ in the same name and was really intrigued… Did NOT know that the place was actually called Gogo Sushi. Located inside the Greenhouse Plaza, Gogo Sushi sits quietly in the corner by the entrance of the Jack In the Box drive thru. It’s essentially a «to-go» version of the Rock n Roll sushi restaurant on Floresta. I’ve tried Rock n Roll before and really liked it, so I thought«Well, why not?!» and walked into Gogo with high expectations. The inside is really set up like a fast food place: signs showing sushi rolls along the line, a huge menu displayed above the cashier, self-serve station(napkins/utensils, dirty dish bin). Very casual and clean, but cheap-feeling. As I walked in, another lady rushed in and walked straight to the register. Apparently she had put in a to-go order through the phone/online? Not sure, but she mentioned this to the cashier, who told her that they never received an order. So basically she had to wait an extra 10 – 15 min for the food she should have received upon arrival. This kinda perked my ears as this IS a to-go sushi place, so I would assume their order systems should be top-notch. Idk. Maybe I’m looking too much into this… bzzz I studied the menu for a moment and decided to order: Volcano Roll Orange Blossom Roll Hot Wings My total came to about $ 28, a cost I don’t believe should have been so high for the food I received. My orange blossom roll was really lacking in fish *see pic*. It was like 75% rice 15% avocado and 10% fish. The salmon on top was so effing thin. The volcano roll had about the same ratios of items, except it was 15% cream cheese and 10% whatever fish they decided to use in this roll. The wings were tasty and I wish I just ordered the wings. Says a lot about the place when the wings taste better than the sushi. The girl behind the counter did not seem welcoming at all and it sorta looked like I had bothered her when I asked about a menu item. Most sushi places offer chicken karaage; and since there are claims that Gogo Sushi is the sister/“brainchild” of Rock n Roll, which DOES serve the dish, I thought I would ask. To which I received the reply: «We don’t have that… we’ve never had that…» Like damn girl I was just asking! In the end, I brought my food home, and ate my bag of disappointment alone while watching Family Feud. Maybe it was an off night, but I don’t think I would be coming back. *PS I think the only thing«BBQ» about this place is their ONE menu item of Korean BBQ ribs donburi. Really… =___=;

Great sushi to go! A few tables to dine in and self service(order at counter, pick up when ready, bus your own table) which is how they keep pricing so reasonable. A wide variety of sushi rolls and picture menus and explanations of each… which definitely makes it hard to decide from all the yummy options. Fresh ingredients, friendly staff, and conveniently located at the Greenhouse Marketplace behind Jack in the Box… The only ‘complaint’ i have is their house salad has a miso dressing but i thought it tasted like Thousand Island dressing… not bad, but was expecting something a little different. Definitely a return place for good sushi… next visit will have to be their bentos!

Great lunch alternative when Delight Garden is too busy. It’s sort of hidden in the back part of Greenhouse Plaza. I tried the mixed tempura and chirashi. My family loved the tempura. It’s a pretty generous amount with big pieces. Chirashi wasn’t made with not the highest quality raw fish. Then again, you don’t really pay $ 13.95 for a bowl of chirashi and expect the fish to come straight from Tsukiji. ORDOYOU? Come with the right expectations! Order at the counter then find a place to sit. All 4-top tables.

I was skeptical at first to try a to-go sushi place. Especially since it is located where many restaurants have sadly failed prior. I heard they were part of Rock N Roll(my fav sushi spot) I’m not sure if that is correct or not but I decided to give it a try. So far we have had take out twice. I have tried the filling rolls Island($ 11.95), White Magic($ 10.95), Spider($ 6.50) and Golden Gate($ 11.95) All were good, the size was plenty and the fish was fresh. The GG roll had an orange mayo type sauce on top instead of the dark sauce as pictured. I like their menu with good descriptions and pictures. I like to see what I’m going to get. It makes deciding easier. The food is ready as quoted over the phone and packaged neatly. A good place when you are in the mood for take out.

New place in the Greenhouse Mall, worth a try… Came by here for takeout for a very special kid attending summer school, so her mama got her a simple roll and she devoured it in the car, this kid knows her food so it must of been good… service was very good, and will definitely return for lunch someday. Prices are reasonable… and I liked it when she rinsed the top of my soda can…
