This restaurant was recommended to my dad by his coworkers. I was in town and we had breakfast together here. We had never been here before so we sat down first, then noticed we didn’t see any waiters so I went to go ask a man refilling coffee machine if we ordered at the table or at the counter. I asked in English and Spanish and this man stared at me as if he was bothered to have someone approach him and then mumbled that you could«order up here or sit down.» My tacos were greasy and tasted average. My dad had menudo that he said had no flavor. He was looking for salt, even having to walk around to other tables and try out their salt shakers which had salt clogging up the holes. It’s a pretty open place so the fact that workers saw him getting up and walking around without offering help was a big turn off. Never coming back here again. The service was poor and the food was flavorless.

I went to high school right around the corner from Eddie’s, so it had been a while since I had visited and boy has it changed!!! Eddie’s has completely renovated both inside and out. The first review for this business was in 2009 when it still operated as a gas station. Well, they have completely removed that from their business plan and focused on their food! Inside the building, you walk up to the counter to place your order. Take a seat in the spacious seating area which has about a dozen tables and a TV. I’ve only eaten breakfast tacos there and they are some of the best! Potato and egg and machacado and egg are my favorites! The barbacoa is quite delicious as well! It’s great to see a small business like Eddie’s thriving even after my first visit 10 years ago!

Gas station on the outside, AWESOME food on the inside. They make their own chicharones(dunno if I spelled it right), which are just pieces of deep fried pork heaven. They also cut them up and make chicharon tacos which are spicy, delicious, and extremely filling. They offer the usual breakfast and lunch tacos(fajita, barbacoa, picadillo). They also offer breakfast and lunch plates, under $ 5 for breakfast and I think only a buck or two more for lunch. You get two choices and it comes with beans and tortillas. I have never been disappointed in this place. Of course one of the ways to my heart is by offering deliciously cold mexican sodas. This place is super tiny(did I mention it’s a gas station) and sometimes it is tough to find yourself somewhere to sit so I suggest hunting down a seat first or get it to go.
