I was in search of some custom exhaust work for my W211 E55 AMG. I contacted Stefan at German Imports who happens to be neighbors with South Coast Muffler and he referred me to Jimmy. Man am I glad he did. Not only did Jimmy get the job done the very next day but the level of craftsmanship is nothing short of artistic and at a price that made me feel like I was stealing from them. None of that, oh you drive a Mercedes so that will be double crap that most placed try to pull. Just good old fashioned service, done right the first time.
You can really tell this family owned business takes pride in what they do and in this day in age, there is a lot to be said for that. Great job South Coast Muffler!

Awesome service and great quality work, brought my jeep TJ in this morning and Mr. Tebbets welded and repaired some rust spot on my frame by lunch time this afternoon, despite being super busy! Looks great and feels solid. They really are the best I will be back whenever I need anything.

Did an exhaust install on my restored 1970 Pontiac GTO a few months ago, and the work is impeccable. Looks like a factory job, with header extensions, an X-​pipe, and dual pipes back to the new mufflers I had them install. These guys are craftsmen, they are prompt, and their prices are fair and reasonable. I would send any relative or friend to their shop for anything involving welding or exhaust systems. Jim did the work himself.

Awesome service! I had a tailpipe that had cracked and they got me right in, ten minutes later and for a whole lot less than I would of paid elsewhere I was on my way!
They have great customer service and a dog to play with while you wait.
Instead of wasting money on jb weld or tailpipe tape, see these guys and you will be better off.
They do. All other types of welding too, not just mufflers and such.

I was referred to south coast muffler by Tucker tires and I brought my truck in and they were great customer service was awesome they put my truck right up on the machine they got the part ordered that same day and had my truck back to me at a low cost muffler exhaust or any of the above I would not take my truck to anyone else

Had what I thought was a huge problem with my truck and the noises it was making every time I would accelerate. Pretty much figured I was going to have to put my Dodge Ram down to rest «for ever». Found out about south coast actually from another shop that couldn’t do the work for a week, I didn’t have that kind of time, so I took it to Jim and he was great, I wanna say the most honest straight shootin no bs kinda mechanic I’ve been in search of for a long time. I would and will be taking my truck and any other truck that would be in need to service to him without a second thought. Great job and spot on service and some. I brought my 2005 suzuki gsx r600 in for some custom exhaust work. I couldn’t be more happy. They were not only very professional, but fast and the work was flawless. I wish I didn’t have to wrap the exhaust so I could show off the tig welds. If you need any work done I highly recommend them. There prices are very reasonable. And the work is second to none.

A bracket that holds my muffler up on my pick-​up truck broke. What an annoyance.
South Coast Muffler immediately put my 4×4 on the rack, welded on a new bracket, charged me a minimal fee, and had me on my way — all in under :30 minutes. It just doesn’t get any better than that. Thank you gentlemen!

They did a Borla cat-​back (140 123) install on my 2009 Subaru Outback XT. They did a great job at a great price and went above and beyond making sure things fit perfectly. Really nice guys at the shop and I can’t recommend them enough.

Brought my classic Lincoln to their shop for some much needed exhaust and muffler attention. They rebuilt (at my request) my entire exhaust system to clean up the hodge podge job done by the previous owners. It’s actually in better shape than factory original. Very confident in their workmanship and they’re very down to earth guys for the not-​so-​car-​mechanically-​inclined. And, affordable, too. Highly recommend them.

Made a same day appointment with John and was not disappointed at all. He was extremely helpful and explained exactly what he was doing. Id recommend this place to anyone looking to get muffler/​exhaust work done for a great price.

Went in to have them install a cat back exhaust on my car, their price was good and overall they did a great job. I would recommend them to anyone they were friendly and honest, so if you need any exhaust work done take it to south coast muffler you won’t regret it.

I was recommended by my mechanic Jim Street (who is also excellent BTW) to give these guys a call for my catalytic converter repair. Holy cow! Not only were they the most friendly, knowledgeable and professional — they saved me over $ 1300! It was a several hour ordeal but they were well worth it. This is the ‘real’ deal and I recommend them highly.

I didn’t even think when I blew my head gasket (not exhaust related) on my ’67 Firebird. I called them right away and asked who they would recommend. They don’t just do exhaust, they do personability.
As always, I have come back satisfied. They make breaking down seem like a minor, and always fixable, thing.

These guys did a custom Mandrel bent down pipe for my turbo integra. Awesome work and it was only $ 250 compared to other shops wanting to charge close to a $ 1000 or more. These guys are honest and do great work!

Around May 2012 I returned to get a… muffler! I got tired of the loud aftermarket «straight through» muffler I had another shop put on my old Saturn in 2009 and wanted South Coast Muffler-​Hitch to put a longer resonator into the exhaust pipe before the muffler to quiet it down. John (owner of this business) told me that would not help much and the right solution would be to replace the straight-​through muffler with an OEM-​type chambered muffler. I agreed so he ordered the muffler and 2 days later installed it for me.
Service was fast, the price (part + labor) seemed pretty good, and my car is a lot quieter now. I debated between 4 and 5 stars because I am reluctant to give out 5-​star reviews unless I’m blown away. But in addition to a good job on the muffler, the owner also recently gave me free advice (and turned down work) on welding a broken part for my other car, advising me that replacing it would probably be smarter than fixing it. So I raise my rating from 4 to 5 stars.
As said in my first review of this shop, I did return when I needed a muffler, and would come back yet again if a different car needed exhaust work.

Father and son duo handling this place, both very knowledgable in exhaust setups for a wide range of cars. Very nice people too.
I’ve had this exhaust leak at my header collector that just seems to get worse and worse. I’ve attempted repairs on about 2 – 3 times before I came here. Not only did they identify the problem, John took a stethoscope to my header around the tope to see if there were any other apparent leaks. I’ve never seen ANY shop do that! They ended up welding my 2 or 3 leak spots, as well as put in a flex pipe so that these cracks (due to engine torque) won’t happen again, all at a very reasonable price with materials included.
I inspected the work and it was done nicely. Not only that, my car sounded much quieter than the first time I had custom exhaust work done to it! I couldn’t be any more satisfied with the end result. I will send all my people their way for any custom exhaust work.
These dudes know their stuff well, and they also specialize in custom work for modified imports and domestic. My Acura Integra sounds very nice now!
