So we just finished lunch here. The food was amazing. And I don’t use the word amazing lightly. I had the bernaise short rib steak sandwich and it was fantastic. My wife had the quiche and she loved it. Everything was spot on and it reminded of France. Yea a French a restaurant in Camino Capistrano that reminds you of France. Try the macaroons they are out of this world. The owner and Chef is hands on and came out and talk to us, what a bonus. That’s why this place gets a 5 star review from us. Pride of ownership shows in this place. If you are still reading this review you need to put the phone down, get your ass in gear, jump in the car and go. You won’t regret it.

Everything is delicious, fresh, and authentic. The almond croissants are addicting. Don’t let the location dissuade you from visiting, this little café has the best coffee and breakfast in OC!

Haven’t been disappointed by any of the desserts I’ve tried here. My husband loves the coffee and chocolate croissants. I love the eggs Benedict and tasty little side salad that comes with it. Great place to meet up with a friend and have a light meal and share a dessert.

This is our go to breakfast spot after my husband recently spotted it. We love everything about it. The food, the coffee, the owners, and the service. Whenever we go there we feel like we are treated like family. My favorite is their almond croissant. My husband’s favorite is the brioche. Really though, anything you get is amazing here… even their salad that comes with every meal. The dressing is out of this world!

YUM! This café is located next to the Vons in San Juan Capistrano. I finally decided to check it out during a recent trip to Vons, and was not disappointed. That first visit I got the veggie quiche(yummy!), chocolate almond croissant(OMG!), and 2 macaroons — salted caramel and coffee. These are, so far, the BEST macaroons I’ve had. Of course this is my opinion and tastes will differ. I went there again today and this time got the cappuccino(delish), almond croissant(again, OMG), and 2 macaroons — blood orange and lavender. Both were awesome. I especially liked the lavender one. Whenever I’m in the area I will definitely try to make it a point to stop by. What an unassuming gem!

Great guys! Yummy everything! I wish I could be more specific, but their culinary skills are well-above any compliment I could give. My office is especially fond of their mini croissants/pastries!

The food I got this time was not good but still giving three stars since other meals I saw looked good so I would give it another try. You know the $ 5.95 chicken salads from Starbucks that are in the case and have that processed chicken with the fake grill marks? I just paid $ 14 bucks(with tip) for the same type of salad with the exact same fake chicken. Like I said, I may give this place another shot since I saw some good looking meals at other tables. Oh and I have tried their quiche and it was quite good.

One dish: I came here and ordered the french toast, which obviously left an impression because after waiting so long to complete this review i’m still giving it 5 stars. The french toast was light and had a bit of a crisp to it, definitely no bad bites and felt like more than the typical french toast. It’s a luxurious twist on a classic with strawberries, honey, and syrup. If you can make french toast with that level of skill, you’ve earned my admiration.

The salad dressing is the most reason for my repeat visit. No fuss, just light mustard hint in a creamy brown drips. The vegetarian sandwiches is served on a white+wheat banquette, baked in the morning with crusty outside, soft and substantial inside. Nothing better than a just right, chef in the house type of meal preparation. Your palate thank you for choosing this café, it’s like going to a friend’s home. So satisfying, so comfy.

Our breakfast was so Delicious, from their mini croissants to the Eggs Benedict and stuffed Crêpe. Everything was authentically French, from their menu all the way to their Chef. We will definitely be back here very soon.

Yet another great visit to this gem of a place. They close a tad earlier on Sundays but they were nice enough to let us slide right in even though it was past 2pm! As always, the pastries were delicious and Eric a charmer ;)

Went here bec we didn’t want to wait for breakfast at Molly’s. Very cute unassuming little café. We ordered the following: Le Bearnais sandwich on baguette– baguette bread was amazing. Authentic! Brought me back to Paris! The beef inside was melt in your mouth but I felt that it lacked a bit of flavor. The side salad was fresh and the dressing was tasty. Traditional eggs Benedict– two perfectly poached eggs on a sliced baguette. The baguette were so delicate it became a little mushy. The spinach was barely there but the taste was great. I just felt they weren’t executed correctly. The portion was very small. Almond croissant– delicate and delicious! Perfect! Breakie– the omelette was fluffy and tasty. We added bacon and it made it even more perfect. Why the 3 starts? I felt some inconsistencies. Although the food was great, there was something missing or something that wasn’t executed correctly on the le bearnaise and the eggs Benedict. I also felt it was way too much for what we got. We paid $ 40 including tip for the food and a couple of coffee — -Way too much! I will probably come back for pastries but not to sit down and eat.

Very sweet little fresh café tucked away in a shopping center. The service is a little slow but other than that — everything was great! I had the Ocean River Sandwich(smoked salmon, avocado and tomato) on a delicious baguette. I ordered it as part of the lunch special($ 12.5) with the side salad(a light and tasty Cesar style salad) and a hot coffee. I was super pleased with the whole meal. And I really felt like it was a good deal, the sandwich alone would have been $ 10. The meal was light but I felt very full. Parking is easy in the lot of the shopping center. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained.

This place is right up there with the Parisienne cafés! The best cappuccinos, croissants, baguettes, and macarons this side of the Atlantic. So glad this is near me because now I can get my French coffee and pastry fix everyday.

So much better than Pascal’s! Coffee is divine! Look forward to their growing and having larger tables of course. Beautiful AND great tasting goodies. The lightness of the custard of their Quiche Lorraine is brilliant. Those homemade hashbrowns are NOT brown but as tasty as can be. Hmmmmmm!

So we were heading to San Diego and was stuck in Crazy Traffic and decided to stop and get some food to wait it out a bit, and found this amazing place!!! The menu sounded good, so stopped in and we were not disappointed at all. First off, the service is THEBEST!!! We both had a Baguette with ham and cheese and it was amazing! We had the regular and cereal baguette and both were amazing, very flavorful and perfectly made. Because it was our first time there they had us try some desserts, so we tried a couple Macaroons, and they were some of the best we have ever had. Tried the Dark Chocolate, Red Velvet and Vanilla Bean and were so good, that before we left, we decided to pick up more for the rest of the drive. This truly is a hidden gem and so glad that we found it. Now we will make sure to stop in every time we pass that area, or just make a special trip anyways just because it is so worth it.

Exceptional service. Eric and Benoit are always a delight to talk to. All other staff are super friendly. We brought our Great Dane, Duke twice and Eric was super nice to bring him a big bowl of water. We truly enjoy coming here after a hike to the Flag Pole at Patriot Hill or from a bike ride to Doheny. My husband loves their eggs benedict. I have a love affair with their Almond Croissants, I usually eat one with my breakfast and take another one home for later. I love their ham and cheese croissant and I’ve just recently tried their Morning Brioche… mmmm…mmmm… GREAT! The brioche was super soft, the cheese was so tasty, the bacon and egg just put it over the top. I am never disappointed with the food and the service at O’ Gourmet. I am so grateful to have this in my neighborhood. This place is a hidden GEM and you all need to come and discover how great it is.

This is by far the best French bakery and café in OC South County. I’ve tried several around the area, and this one is authentic and true to the beautiful people and country of France. I’ve had my share of French food, and this place is for real. So far I’ve tried there Croissants, French bread, hot breakfast items and some of their pastries. The quality is superb, I’m pretty sure everything is house made there and you can taste the freshness. I plan on hanging out there any opportunity I can. There menu is plentiful, looking forward to trying there amazing French sandwiches and off course more pastries. So much to choose from as the menu has a great variety. The chefs there are divine, true to there French country, and sweet as their apple tarts. The front staff is also so helpful, kind and sweet. I can’t say enough of this place, a piece of the city of love, right in SJC. Can’t wait to go again and maybe start practicing my French with the chefs and staff. Thumbs way up.

Omg love this place!!! The best bakery in San Juan for sure! You must try the passion fruit macaroon — so fruity, a little tart a little sweet — just amazing! I’ve tried the Quiche Lorraine and the Cocoque(so??) Madam and both were fabulous! I’m trying to get different things every time I go so eventually I’ll work my way through the menu. So far everything has been delicious!!!

Great food and excellent service. The almond croissant was light and wonderful and the eggs benedict was delicious. Great coffee; we ordered an americano, a mocha, and a latte, all hot and tasty. The food came about 10 minutes after ordering but the service was very gracious and personable. Eric seemed to really care about his customers. We will definitely be coming back!

WOWWOWWOW! Road our bikes to this little French café in San Juan Capistrano and I am floating on a cloud of a flakey almond croissant and a warm ham and cheese breakfast croissant. My Americano coffee was smooth and perfect. My husband just ordered another almond croissant to help wash down the rest of our coffee. We will be back and bringing our friends with us. Merci merci merci!

Meticulous is how I would describe the level of care that goes into the preparation of everything they do here. The coffee is smooth, the breakfast wrap is tidy and delicious, the breakfast brioche is not too sweet and perfectly savory. All is in balance that can only be achieved by meticulous intent. Don’t come here for a breakfast burrito oozing with cheese. However, if you want perfectly cooked scrambled egg with lettuce, tomato and house made sauce wrapped in a lightly warmed tortilla — this is the place. While you can get food to go — and perhaps because of the shame of being seen here 5 days in a row, you need to — stay if you can and enjoy your coffee in a real mug while taking time to eat your breakfast. It’s so very American to eat on the go but this is a French café so sit, relax, enjoy before returning to the hustle and bustle. This is just the kind of place that deserves to thrive but is in competition to survive. Please — support local businesses that are great because the competition makes all businesses better. I really hope these guys do well. And I’ll have another macaron please.

What a delightful find! A treat for breakfast, pastries are excellent, coffee is delicious with a generous pour. They offer espresso, as well. You will find some French items that are less common such as the carmelized onion Pissaladiere. The tartes are very appealing and we will try those another time. Authentic baguettes. The décor is bright and innovative, with seating for about 18. There are 20 flavors of maccarons today! Try the ham and cheese croissant, which is heated and served with a small salad. The owner, Benoit, is charming and speaks perfect English. He encouraged me to speak French with him. We will return!

New french bakery in OC and i love it !!! I got a little chocolate cake with a café au lait. Everything is so yummy and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. As a french i can say that it’s fresh food, made from stratch like the little«boulangeries» in France ! The owner and staff member are so friendly, they make you feel like you are home ! You have to try this place :)

What an amazing bakery! Originally I had looked on Unilocal to find this spot as a restaurant to give them a great review… the meals were that fabulous! But, it is very much an authentic French café & bakery with soup, salad and sandwich options… And mouthwatering baked goods. My daughter and my food was so delicious. She had a turkey BLT and I had a grilled chicken salad. I would recommend both! Her BLT was on a French baguette and was like biting into heaven! It wasn’t typical American bacon, but some scrumptious version of bacon– my 10 year old daughter couldn’t put it down. Although it’s big enough for two people to share, and it comes with a sweet side salad. My salad was lovely, filling and lean. We got a quiche Lorraine to heat up tomorrow and a raspberry tater for later tonight. It is authentically French and if I didn’t know better I would have thought I was in Paris. So chic and delish! C’est bon! Come here as often as possible.

At long last, French Café Culture has ARRIVED with aptly named Gourmet French Café. The sandwiches are magnifique’, the pastry top shelf and expertly rendered. The COFFEE, second to none. It’s tucked away locale in the Von Shopping Center/SJC provides respite and calm affording an epicure’s delight for coffee and pastry, each artisanal sandwich is thoughtful craftsmanship and served with civil, old Europa hospitality. I commend Eric’s & Benoit’s culinary technique and applaud the opening of this new café. Not to be missed.
