Coleen is the best, helping me with new locks for every door in the house and with a lot of detail. They are very reasonable, also!

What a nightmare!
I promised myself that I wouldn’t post a review for this company until I had time to sleep on it and calm down. I was so frustrated for 6 weeks, that I ended up walking out before blowing my stack.
I needed some work done and I wanted to give my business to a local «Mom & Pop». (I still did, just not these guys)
The process of trying to get these guys to call me back was my biggest gripe.
First of all the store is only open from 10:00 till 2:00. Or So They Say!
I had been in a few times to speak with Gary, and when he wouldn’t return my call-​S, S, S, S, S, S, S, S,(8 times) I started going to the shop. I rarely found someone there. They might as well just say that they are there OCCASIONALLY and MIGHT return your call if they feel like it. Cell phone or land line at the shop, it doesn’t matter because they aren’t interested.
I even spoke face to face with a woman at the store a few times. She would call Gary (the owner) and relay info (not always accurately). Then When I would call he wouldn’t pick up.
We FINALLY got to a point where he was willing to order a part, but she wanted $ 150 up front WTF!!! These people wouldn’t give me the time of day for 6 weeks and they expected my to give them money for work that hadn’t been performed. Yikes! That was NOT going to happen. The only thing that they had proven was that they didn’t want my business.
PLUS— when I finally gave up on them I called South Coast Lock & Safe and they were $ 100.00 cheaper.

Colleen came out today to re-​key my front gate, my front door and some interior locks. She explained her pricing policy on the telephone when I made the appointment, restated her policy when she arrived and did all of the work quickly, efficiently and with a wonderful attitude & personality. And of course I paid exactly what she quoted me, even though the scope of work changed slightly.
It’s always great when you honestly provide a reference for someone and their firm… I will recommend Capistrano Lock & Colleen to my neighbors and friends. This is a business that is deserving of your support.

That one star review on 9÷3÷14 was only because she didn’t like the hours… which are due to the fact they are out in the field doing jobs. If you want and appreciate EXCELLENT work, this family-​owned locksmith company is beyond perfect. The tool kit on wheels they have weighs about 70 pounds and it contains every sort of drill and tool necessary for intricate work. Our job was done by Colleen who has many years of experience, and was so nice to have around. We were more than happy with the price and it is such a pleasure to see the pride she has of her work. Our home now has the most gorgeous black levers and deadbolts that have made it unnecessary to invest in new doors… what a great thing it is to get rid of those out of date brass builder knobs. They also have a selection of home safes.

Totally inconvenient. What kind of weekly store hours are 10am-​2pm? I work during those hours like most regular people and they aren’t even open on weekends.
