Unity Care helped me at the worst time in my life. I was homeless and had a part time job. I was couch surfing and I never finished high school. After speaking with my old social worker he referred me to Unity Care. They got back to me the next day and had me speaking with my new case manager. She was a big inspiration to me and helped me get through anything I needed help with. They were not only there for me mentally but also financially. The helped me move into my first apartment at 19 years old. They covered most of my expenses and were supportive in anything I want to accomplish. I went from working full time to going back to school. I gained my GED and started attending Evergreen Valley College. I am now graduated from the program but they were the best thing that happened to me at such a gentle stage in my life barely leaving the foster system and getting back into it. The other experience doesn’t sound like Unity Care at all but then again I wasn’t a youth in a home so we might have different experiences. Thank you Unity Care for helping me get my life started, because of you I am fulfilling my dreams.

I’ve lived at one of the houses for over a year now. While being at Unity Care, it was one of the worst expierences of my life. Where I was mistreated and felt as if no one truly cared about me. While living here I was accused of false crimes and was denied whenever I wanted to talk about something. One of my housemates, had his belongings stolen from him, which was reimbursed. For myself, I had also had my belongings stolen. Which, was never replaced. It seemed to me that no one cared about myself in the home. I am not a drug user, in fact I am sober. I graduated from high school and looking forward to prusing my dreams. While Unity Care just brought down my dreams, pushing me towards the wrong path. I am happily moving out next month and have no intent to stay. If I were you, I would suggest another group home or THPP instead of coming here.
