I have been unemployed seven years from my Information Technology career due to outsourcing jobs and now have medical issue, and also on EBT /Food Stamps and can no longer afford to eat out often, but this week I ate at the Super Taqueria on Story Rd. in San Jose. The green sauce was really hot, unlike how it is made it Gilroy which is much milder, and why the extra charge of 25 cents for a flour tortilla, or 10 cents for a corn tortilla, how else can you order a Burrito? Is this surcharge unique to only this location?

The super burritos are pretty good considering they’re under $ 6.00 each, but I’m not a big fan of the meat they use here. It always seems to have pieces of chewy fat in it, especially the asada. I usually go for the al pastor or chicken because of it. Also, just a tip: if you want sour crème added(which I recommend), you’ll have to mention that to them because it’s not included. Waiting to get food here doesn’t take long, even during busy hours the longest I’ve had to wait was about ten minutes. That being said they aren’t exactly the most cheerful bunch of employees, but that doesn’t really bother me. The little salsa stand they have loaded with salsa, limes, and other toppings makes a nice addition to your food. Super T. is somewhere between three and four stars to me, it’s good just not amazing.

I would give this place a zero. Yes, their food is good, but their management is the worst. Don Julio, they call him, does not know a thing about management. I ordered a burrito with carne asada and extra meat to go, and drove more than 3 miles home. When I got home it was a burrito with all kinds of meat, and with more beans than anything. Very sloppy. I returned back and demanded a response to their error, this was not the first time they had done this. The lady at the register was not cooperative at all. I showed her proof, and she was still trying to protect her workers with whispers of instructions to do over. As if the fault was mine to begin with. Very typical. I asked if that’s all they could do for me since they made me drive to home and back. She continued to say that they only would correct the burrito. I was not satisfied and asked to speak to the manager. Don Julio arrives, and to my surprise was very arrogant and defensive as if he was the manager at Cisco System or some High-tec place; genetically engineering the next burrito. He was not there to help. So i asked him how do they address errors that involve a loyal customer who drives for miles only to find that their order was a mess, and then return. He said with an apology… wow. I guess his apologies are worth gold. A real apology would have something to show for. This place has developed such a big head, as if they are the only taco place in the east side. And Don Julio is to show it. I would advise to go to Eduardo’s Taqueria instead. The food is so much better. And so are the people. Im not going to support Don Julio’s big head anymore.

Really good Mexican burritos. Only thing I don’t like is that they only take cash. Parking is good on some days. It gets packed on weekends.

Rolled up to Super Taqueria after visiting my gardeners home to bring home a pineapple plant and a plant he tells me has medicinal properties. So here I am on his recommendation. I even ordered the super taco as he instructed. It was heavenly. Whole beans are used but not too many. The carne asada is tasty and generous. The avocado on top is freshly sliced and the avocado is perfectly ripe. The tortill is warm and if you ask they will grill em up with a little oil. Yum. Star status. Coming back. Right now. Ordering some flautas. As i type. Here they come. Look yummy.

I don’t know what the big hype is about here, the food was mediocre at best. The burrito was salty and the nachos were soggy. Meh, Wasn’t for me

This was a regular stop for me because it was right off the freeway on the way home. I can’t even tell you how many lazy nights Super Tacqueria has saved me from making dinner. I lived on ST in college. This was before I learned to appreciate really good Mexican food. ST was all I knew. At the time, it was the bomb. As I’ve eaten more Mexican food, ST is no longer the standard, but still is still my go to in a pinch. Their standard offerings are good, but my faves are the super tacos and tortas. You can’t beat a taco with fresh slices of avocado! I also really like the old school tortas. There’s nothing fancy about these satisfying and filling sandwiches, but they hit the spot. I also really like the bar of fresh salsas. Even though this location is a bit older and worn, every time I’m in, no matter what time of day, staff is cleaning. It doesn’t matter if they’re slammed, they take the time to clean. Even the manager is bussing tables and sweeping the floor. Their staff is quick and efficient. I never have to wait to long to put in my order or waiting for my meal. They’re used to high volume business and never miss a beat.

You know it’ll be good when you enter and see a lot of hispanic people eating here. Tasty! Ordered their nachos and carne asada tacos. Tacos were very filling! Crunchy chips, topped w/beans, meat, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. Tacos had meat and beans. I usually see«street tacos» w/just meat, cilantro, and onions. I love beans, so I enjoyed seeing them on the tacos. Loved how they had a salsa bar, which had lime, cilantro, and 3 different salsas. Will definitely come back! Too bad they don’t open late at night.

The young lady at the register was friendly and bubbly. ordered 2 super giant burritos. It was alright. They forgot to add sour cream… and the bottom half was all beans, no bueno. I’ll stick to the tacos next time.

Just ordered dinner take out here last night, 5÷13÷15. Let’s see — for reasonable prices, you get a good amount of food plus it tasted great. This is my second time coming here and I haven’t been disappointed yet. Had their super giant burrito — with your choice of meat(chicken, carnitas, shrimp, etc) then they add rice, beans, cheese, salsa or picco de gallo and oh what I like the most if they put fresh avocados instead of typical guacamole. Inside the restaurant is clean, service is great and the servers are friendly. I recommend this place for the price and quality & quantity of food.

If you ever just want to have a good taco or burrito, you can’t go wrong at super T! The super tacos are pretty filling and come with avocado and cheese and are delish. I prefer the carne Asada(steak) taco or burrito. The place is pretty big but can get packed. It’s fairly clean most of the time but when it’s packed it can get a little dirty. That goes without saying.

All I can say is YUMMY! My friend introduced me to Super Taqueria and I’ve been hooked ever since. The food is simply delicious and the prices are reasonable. Just make sure to bring cash since its cash only!

Ok, so I normally judge a taqueria by their tortas. I ordered a carne asada torta and was a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, for $ 3.49 I can’t expect awesome when everyone else charges about $ 6 but come on now, really… Really… where’s the beef? There’s a wafer thin steak that probably took 20 seconds to cook in it. I’ll be adding a pic of my sandwich, all bread no meat. This place is definitely a taco establishment, all my friends tacos I’m told were awesome. I was left still hungry. Next time, strictly tacos.

CARNEASADABURITTO! Bomb. My fiancé and I have been on the hunt for a carne asada burrito as good as La Taqueria in the mission in SF and have searched with no luck UNTIL we came here. I am so glad my co-worker, who was born and raised in San Jose, directed me to Super Taqueria when I told her about my dilemma. We didn’t waste any time after hearing her recommendation! We came here last night and it got pretty crowded during dinner time full of families, all Hispanic so you know it’s gotta be authentic. There was a guy in the wheelchair selling bootleg DVDs in front but still felt pretty safe and parking wasn’t an issue for us. We walked up to the counter and ordered the Super Giant Burrito, which is the same size as their Super Burrito. The difference is it comes with rice. We had our choice of refried or whole beans. We also added sour cream which makes the burrito more moist and juicy. Upon my first bite, I felt like I heard the angels sing and the gates of heaven opened up. Hallelujah! The burrito was almost as comparable to La Taqueria and we don’t have to drive an hour to the city when we crave a carne asada burrito! The meat was cooked perfectly, well seasoned and tender. They put in whole chunks of avocado right into it, the right ratio of beans to rice and meat. The tortilla was fresh and soft. I would squeeze some lemon juice and drizzle the salsa verde all over my burrito with some of pico de gallo from their salsa bar. The combo of all that gave it a perfect flavor, this will now be our go to joint for burritos! THUMBSUP!
