Filet minon was cooked and seasoned perfectly, coupled with guacamole and asparagus and a baked potato and you’ve got a winning combination to say the least. Homemade tortillas are also 10⁄10. Cash only!

Well when the food came it looked so good I dug right in and forgot to take pictures… Oh my bad! We started out with the Aquachile, shrimp that are made ceviche style in a green sauce of tomatillos, cilantro and chile with red onions, cucumbers and tomatoes. Very flavorful and fresh dish but I felt the shrimp were not quite done they lacked firmness. Next the Rojas con Crema– This dish comes in under comfort food sautéed green poblano peppers and corn in a warm white creamy cream you can eat it on its own or in a tortilla. Main course another comfort food for a cool evening Pozole a pork soup with hominy and all the garnishes … radishes, onion, cabbage, oregano, red chile pepper flakes and lemon. The soup was hearty and flavorful with just the right hint of chile to take the chill away. Finally s side Elotes– Roasted Corn sweet and toasted to perfection with a smear of butter a sweet ending to a satisfying meal. Definitely will be added to list of places to go back to.

Service was great! Ribeye was a bit over-charred for my taste, but from the looks of pictures from other people, I think the grill may have been too hot. The asparagus was perfect, nice smokey flavor. The baked potato was pretty big too, garnished with cheese and sour cream. Best parts of the meal was the freshly made tortillas and the bean soup!

Highly recommend this place! Came here for the first time with my husband and loved it! I ordered the salmon sonorense which comes in a green sauce with onions, mushrooms and rice– it has a delicious taste and the portions are just right. To drink I ordered water with lemon(thinking it was going to be the regular tap water you get everywhere else) and to my surprise it was filtered and at no charge. As a courtesy they brought us a bean soup and instead of the the traditional chips and salsa we got three toasted tortillas with two different types of salsa. I’m definitely coming back. Loved their service and their prices.

I loved the food! Very good taste. What really made them stand out is that they use filtered water. Not many restaurants pay attention to detail. Also we were given a complimentary bean soup that was delicious. Im coming back in 2 weeks!

Stopped in, and left real fast. Service was good, but the food they brought us to sample just wasn’t great. We went somewhere else for our mexican food fix this day.

This is my third time coming here and the food is delicious it has the authentic flavor. The steak is the best with the champiñones and baked potatoe. But the Salmon is hella good. Oh and their piñachelada it’s also good. The salmon reminds me of the time I was in Acapulco And the steaks of Henry’s high life. If you are looking for a good pariyada this is the place. I recommend it to everyone. Service was great. Miguel is really friendly.

If you live in East San Jose you know there is no lack of Mexican restaurants. It can be difficult to know who to give your money to. We were very happy to discover Sonorense. The food is very good. Flavorful and well thought out. The servers were friendly and attentive. We would definitely go there again. Cash only though.

The agua frescas were delicious and the carne asada was great too. Could not hold a conversation with my family at the table because the speakers were too loud. I appreciate a live serenade but not if it’s overbearing. Overpriced tacos and especially the guacamole. Very nice waitress but didn’t visit our table as often as she should have and did not ask if we would like drink refills. Tortillas took wayyy too long to arrive. My mother had to get up and go ask them herself if they were ready. Would not come back here. Doesn’t remind me of mi tierra de sonora much. Ps does not accept card. Only cash. But conveniently for the restaurant there’s an atm machine inside the place.
