This is a great fun place to go with the family on a Sunday if you don’t have plans. They have a lot of stuff varying from furniture to fruits and veggies and dried fruits-toys, boots and tools– you name it, they probably may have it! The parking is $ 10 per car so a lot of people park on the streets and walk in. Unless you know for sure you’re getting a big item and would benefit from parking closer, then go for it! Fun place with live music and food for your Sunday entertainment.

A lot of great memories growing up and coming down to the flea market on the weekend. The place is a virtual treasure trove of good deals if you know how to negotiate! It’s a nice spot to walk around and take in the sights, sounds, and smells of an open air market that not too many people get to see anymore. I do enjoy coming out for the food they have at the stands here, a real guilty pleasure, but its something that I guarantee you will enjoy!

It is a farmer’s market… I went to sell stuff there, but be warned… the other vendors can be aggressive and impolite. As soon as i arrived, I was swarmed by a group of vendors all wanting to buy my stuff for cheap. They all act friendly and then when they don’t get their price several of them act angry. One guy after bartering for 15 minutes and getting me to lower the price on a coat, brought it back after wearing it for an hour and demanded his money back. I refused and he jumped up and down, becoming violent and ripped the coat in two… really? Other than than, there are some good deals on items there. I just won’t go back to sell anything there. Renting the truck and taking all day, I broke even. Next day, i donated what I didn’t sell and saved myself the stress.

This place is fun. Lots of vendors, rides for the kids, overall fairly clean, and wonderful entertainment. Great place to come for phone cases and fishing supplies. Great deals on fresh fruits and vegetables, and most place have samples. Win win.

I love to shop here. Most of the Asian Vendors merchandise are«OVERPRICED». I went here today with my co-worker and look around I saw a dress that I reall like and it says in the tag $ 15.75 but the price was crossed out and when I ask the lady she said it’s $ 30 which is way too much for that thin dress I said I had $ 23 and she said«NO»! Overall I still like to shop here.:-)

I dont give a damn if u guys dont think this place is 5 star worthy! This place is full of great findings and deals. The produce isle is huge and well shaded so u dont get hit by the sun. They have stands that are full of hard to find spices and rare fruit here in the California northern region. You could also find this great molé in small containers thats are great all u need to do is add chicken stock. I always hit the produce section first before it gets to crowded its much easier to shop when theres less people. In that same row theres a woman selling Mexican bread she had empanada and cemas and huge conchas theres a few vendors in that row but dont get fooled this lady has the best bread theres a sign that reads«panaderia eduardos» you better be there quick before she sells out. She does run out of bread normally around 1ish. Not to far from there theres a vendor with lots of cool authentic mexican stuff such ass clothing, frames, dia de los muertos skulls, and statues also lots of hand made bracelets which are known to keep the bad vibes away, if you believe the prices are really reasonable and the vendor Alex is always willing to work out a deal. Go check him out. The time warp is also near by they have tons of oldie cds and chicano culture supporting memorabilia, shirts, aprons, movies, stickers and Lots more stuff. Go take a trip to the san jose flea market. Theres more vendors on Sunday’s but is also more expensive for parking on Sundays. Saturdays parking is 7 dollars Sundays is 10 but if u get there before 9am parking is free 99 so get there early! No pets allowed unless you have a service animal. Also bring ur own water unless u want to pay out the ying yang for H2’o. Take a trip to the flea market its really fun but oh so huge so bring ur walking shoes. I took pics of the stands i was mentioning.

What can I say? I love the PULLLGAAAAAAA. Usually here on Saturdays, when parking in $ 7, but recently came on Sunday with my sister when parking was a whopping $ 10! God damn Mr. Flea Market… I love coming here though, always something to look at and always deals to be found. I find maybe 3⁄5 of the shops I visit with are willing to negotiate prices with me if I sweet talk ‘em. Lots of cool vendors too, most everyone is very friendly and helpful when I have questions. Such a variety of stuff here too, I’ve bought toe rings, jade rings, skull rings, mood rings(i really love rings) blankets, chairs, fruit, dog supplies, cell phone accessories, etc. Basically anything your heart can dream, you can find at the flea market. They have a few inside food places as well, garlic fries and a Coors like ran me like $ 8, not bad. Last time I was here my sister and I sat and watched some kids and a random old man play skee ball together, such a nice place to spend the afternoon. I do recommend lots of sunscreen, comfy shoes, and sunglasses… San Jose can be Hell’s oven.

The Berryessa Flea… What is there that you can’t say about it(YOUCANFINDANYTHING). I have made allot of wonderful family memories there. Walking up and down the isles of the swap meet looking at all the NON-regulars seeing what they brought to sell. Then you have your regular sellers that have the same stuff every weekend, but wouldn’t be the same without them. My daughters asking for bubble guns or any doll/toy they see, and along with all the rides, games, and treats to buy they love it. I always enjoy $ 4 pancakes to go with a beer from the beer cart cursing around. My father in law goes for the food & live music. My wife always makes sure to stop by the mexican candy and the fresh fruit stands. But ALWAYS good times while being with the family!!! If anything better than just sitting at home on a weekend. Make sure that you come before 9am free parking!!!

My dad and I arrived at the flea market at 7:30am on Saturday with free parking(after 9am you would have to pay $ 7) and free entry. Upon the entrance we discovered several vendors already prepared to start selling — clothes, fruits, accessories, electronics. etc. It was our first experience browsing through garage vendors, which were all interesting, but my dad was unable to find his tools, so we probably spent only one hour at this flea market and left to check out the West Wind Capitol. If I’m ever in the area I will definitely come back to this flea market and browse around with no rush.

Parking was free since we got there before 9 am which was a plus. This flea market is huge and has some good stuff but it does get pretty repetitive after a while.

I can spend the whole day here! Love that they have beer, music, food and even a photobooth! Even when I don’t have much money to spend, being a Mexican American, this place really helps me feel at home and crave to take a visit to Mexico ASAP. So much cultural richness here. I love the Peruvian vendor where I buy all my jewelry.

Wow this place has changed since they opened. I remember when parking was a dirt road. What really sucks is the $ 10 car entrance fee. The rest is ok. Once Bart opens I bet they will charge an admission fee. Pleanty of stuff to see from new to used. Clothing, shoes, toys tools, food. Nice place to walk around, even if you don’t buy anything. Some people park out side the are and walk in, saves $ 10. I also noticed that all the food vendors are Asian. Hugh? No latinos?

FOOD: I’m a fan of the flea market due to the nostalgic feelings as a kid coming here. They have food options such as churros, ribs, menudo, corn dogs, nachos, burritos, French fries, chili, ice cream, nuts, fruit, veggies, basically a farmers market. BEER: Beer is sold on carts like ice cream cart looking carts haha. Sign says they check Id if you look under 35 years old. They put the beer in clear plastic cups that say The Flea on it with the mascot. Bud Light and Modelo beer available. WHAT: They sell all kinds of knick knacks and everyday essential items from children’s toys, hair accessories, hair extensions, makeup although I’ve read these are cheap knock offs filled with chemicals and lead, shoes, socks, clothes, bicycles that might’ve been stolen but who am I to say?, hats, phone cases, leaf blowers, tools, kitchen wear, jewelry, blankets I’ll have to come back for especially the soft old school kind they had for $ 12, jumper cables, fake eyelashes, and even furniture! We ended up getting sunglasses 2 for $ 10. I feel like I’m constantly buying new sunglasses due to losing them or sitting on them or what not so good to go here for cheap ones. Jeans galore and young people clothes. If I ever need jeans I should come here but kind of hard since you can’t try the stuff on. I’ll have to come here for winter boots if I need new ones. They seem to have quite a selection. GRASS: wow they have nicely landscaped grass by the eating areas. Very green and evenly cut. MUSIC: either you hear music from booths selling cd’s or go to the food area and there’s a live mariachi band that has been playing there for over 20 years! So cool! I love how live music is still available. DOGS: Sign says no dogs but I saw at least three little dogs walking around and I’m very sure they weren’t service dogs. Doesn’t bother me but makes me think it’s ok if I bring my dog. Wonder if anyone there would say anything about it and make me leave.

I give my first time at the San Jose Flea Market 5 stars just because I had fun with my boyfriend. He picked me up from San Mateo and told me we would only be hanging out in a mall in San Jose, when he intently but secretly headed south in order to pop my flea market cherry. Yay! I give the food stand a 1 star. I was starving when we got here. We paid 3 dollars for parking(we were here on a Friday). I thought flea market meant cheap. Nope. The price of food here is comparable to the prices in the movie theaters. Also a «medium» soda is 3.50 plus tax. We paid about 15 dollars in total to share one drink, a side of fries, and some pretty disgusting nachos. Overpriced. Never eating here again. My buying experience? 4 stars. Boyfriend was really happy he got 2 hats for a total of 5 dollars. He also got a cool charger that lights up for 5 bucks, I was really jealous actually. For me, I got a skirt and a pair of shorts for a total of 18 dollars. As a shopper who only picks her clothing from the sale rack at the mall, this was pretty expensive. However, I really liked what I bought so it was fine. It’s not like we are at the flea market every day. Also, I got amazingly comfy and cute sandals for 15 bucks. Considering my degree of adoration for the design, 15 bucks was cheap. The downside: Chinese vendors. $ 7.00 bucks for parking is pretty steep so i always try to make the most of my visits here… spending hours and hours just walking down each and every aisle. Bargains are at each and every corner but that concept seems to have gotten lost with the concession stands. Its flat out robbery for what they charge for the greasy, fattening food… and yet i can’t seem to say no. French fries, corn dogs, and churros are a must have and its been a long long tradition since i was a little kid. The food is always piping hot, salty, and oily– yet its just so satisfying. LMAO! Since there was no turning back, we also decided to try out the phiLLy cheese steak sandwich and the beef soft taco. Philly cheese steak was bland and the bun was super oily and soggy– pass! Beef soft taco didn’t have the best meat quality but it definitely does the job if you’re craving. Next time, i will have to make room for the mexican corn(elote). There are a vast number of vendors selling clothes, toys, shoes, groceries, house hold supplies, furniture, and even a barber or two. You can’t beat the sales and it is definitely okay to do some haggling here. SCORE! My mom taught me well– i’m all about that life. All in all, this is a great place to come and kill time or shop for necessities. Grab an overpriced beer and soak in the sun! Kids and adults all go gaga for the soft serve and live music available on the weekends.

For pretty much 90% of my time here, I had a hard time justifying the $ 7 parking fee. I honestly felt like I paid $ 7 to use the bathroom. There are an abundance of shops here, but a serious lack of variety. It’s easy to get lost here because there are probably only 5 types of shops here: 1. Traditional Mexican knick-knacks and clothing 2. Off-brand sports or misbranded city gear — misspellings and all 3. Knock-off sunglasses, cell phone cases, and electronics 4. Plush blankets galore — sports, florals, and tigers only 5. «Cali”-printed everything urban wear — tacky I’m not expecting high quality for dirt cheap prices, but it just wasn’t worth dropping any kind of money here. Absolutely nothing piqued my interest here. I guess if you are willing to dig, you might be able to find some steals, but this is probably one of the worst flea markets/swap meets I’ve been to. But just before leaving, we decided to walk down the farmer’s market avenue. Definitely a redeeming factor. Most vendors are willing to haggle a bit and you can get some great steals closer to closing time. We picked up an abundance of fruits… and they definitely need a good washing, but the prices were unbelievably good! Steal of the day was definitely the blood oranges — 10POUNDS for $ 4!

As someone who considers the bargain hunt to be a primary motivator for her existence, the world famous San Jose Flea Market seemed like a promising adventure. In some ways it is: one battles through a jungle of embossed leather belts, California cropped t-shirts, car stereos, and Mexican crockery within 10 yards of the main entrance. There is a large farmer’s market down the main aisle, with vendors offering up delicious, bite sized samples of fruit. There are also merchants selling tacos and large plastic urns filled with agua frescas. I bought a large bunch of delicious bananas and some cilantro for $ 4 here. I also ate a lot of pineapple slices. The rest of the flea was somewhat disappointing. It was large, yes, but most of the vendors were selling newer, commercial items. I tend to prefer flea markets where people stake out their spots on tarps in camping chairs at 7 am; here, most of the vendors had booths filled with ready made products. I missed seeing war memorabilia, cigar boxes, bad sword replicas, and second hand clothing. I hardly saw any vintage jewelry, let alone vintage clothing. There was very little by way of used furniture; most of it was tacky and somewhat new, like the kind of thing you find in the clearance section of a Big Lots because of its extreme flammability. Same for the underwear. Goods worth going for: cheap makeup. I did see a lot of LA Colors, Jordana, Maybelline, NYX, and two booths selling«Urban Decay»(I would question its authenticity) and mineral makeup. Behold: bargains for your face. Other things: tools. Like weed whackers, hacksaws, toolboxes, etc. Spotted some old, industrial toolboxes that would go for $ 50 on Etsy. Lastly: vintage toys. Like kitschy plastic luchadores, and dinosaur figurines. Let the battle begin.

I’m going to start by saying that I haven’t quite given this place a fair shot only having been frequenting here a few times. The first was a hot summer day and frankly upon arriving to the market wanted to walk right back to my air conditioned car. I only walked down the produce/farmers market isle since it was shaded. The next couple of visits yielded better results. I found really great deals perusing the isles and one of my greatest buys was done here– an authentic, brand spanking new Le Creuset Dutch oven in a discontinued color. I could not pass it up. Anyone who knows this brand wouldn’t pass it up for the price that I got it for. With that said anyone who visits the flea has to prepare themselves with the possibility of leaving empty handed and to arrive without expectation unless of course you come for the specific task of getting exactly what you know will be offered(ie clothing, piñatas, produce). It’s those unexpected great surprises that make for a great visit. Note: Don’t be a dummy like me and come during the weekend night flea market hours that are offered during the summer months. Beat the heat!
