Store is very nice. The seafood and meats are fresh and a great selection. The sushi is made everyday and very reasonably price compared to whole foods. My only complaint is that I ALWAYS seem to get overcharged for something every shopping trip! The last time it happened I decided to actually get in line to let them know! The lady was less than nice about it and that really upset me(therefore deducting a star)! I feel like they are taking advantage of customers. CHECK your receipts!!!

Newest Safeway in the area. It’s open 24 hours and has a gas station which is very affordable but lines are Insanely long. It does the job but I don’t feel like it’s as well stocked as other locations.

This Safeway location is one of the nicer/newer ones I know! It opened just last year at Village Oaks Plaza and it’s pretty big! Best thing is that they’re organized and they have a self-check out station! Makes everything a bit faster than waiting in long lines for the cashier. I also get asked often by baggers if I need help with taking my groceries to the car which is very nice of them! This location also has a gas station which I’ve never seen any other Safeway’s around the area have. Prices are also pretty decent compared to brand named gas stations. My family and I also get sushi from here whenever we have a random craving but not up to go/wait at a restaurant. Yup, that’s right; sushi! You wouldn’t think the sushi would be that great coming from a non-Japanese restaurant but it’s actually not that bad at all! They have a great selection for decent prices from $ 7.99+. The fish tastes fresh and the sushi chef is always friendly every time I come here. I always ask for a extra spicy mayo and they are more than happy to give it to me for free! Also, they have a Starbucks and a olive bar with great looking selections. I’m not really into olives but they actually looked good! This location also opens 24⁄7! The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the parking lot. I feel like they could have paved it better because it just feels cramped up for such a big area. But other than that. Yay Safeway!

Loved the store great location for an area that doesn’t offer too much until recently. Parking is a hassle though.

This Safeway is pretty brand new. It’s right next to the new housing development off Cottle rd. I love this location because it’s one of the bigger Safeways with a gas station. Because it’s new it can get pretty busy but management always has enough cashiers. Their sushi station is pretty good as well.

As I am checking out and am am bagging a few of my items, the bagging person insists that she’ll do it for me. Great. After paying, I walk away and noticed on my receipt that I was overcharged for the Applejacks($ 4.99) when it is advertised for $ 3.49. I go to the customer service and wait behind a gentleman returning 6 bottles of wine and getting back $ 143.65. The time is approx. 6:53. «YV» sees me and says«I’ll be right with you» as she walks over to the register on the far right to grab«Jay» to come assist the man. «YV» then walks in the back room, grabs her Coca-Cola and promptly leaves the store. WTH? What happened to the«I’ll be right with you»? As I wait for Jay to finish counting the money to refund the man, over 15 minutes has elapsed. Shenae notices me waiting excessively long and pulls me over to the personal checkout, quickly analyzes my receipt, refunds me the $ 1.50 difference, and gives me a $ 5 gift card – and all it took was about 1 minute… And she was very polite about it too. Thank you Shenae! I leave the store at around 7:15pm. (This review has nothing to do with Shenae’s friendly demeanor). I go home and realized that the bagging person who insisted bagging my groceries in my reusable bag had placed the Horizon Milk laying on its side, crushing and flattening my once fluffy Safeway Signature Wheat Bread… Definitely not my night. I love Safeway, but I sure hope this experience does not repeat itself…

Okay, I am impressed! I have to admit I am never one to really do the surveys on the receipts from businesses but I decided after my last visit I would, plus who knows I could win some money right?! Haha! Well I didn’t win money but I got a sense of importance and experience of amazing customer service. Jendy(Sorry if I spelled your name wrong) the assistant manager just called me to follow up on some comments I had left on the survey. It was in regards to more vegan and gluten free options, healthier snacks for kids, etc. She assured me she would be reaching out to some vendors and getting more options in the store. I am blown away, I never thought I would get a phone call! She was so sincere and genuine with my concerns. A+ right there! 5 stars for your assistant manager! She deserves a raise!

As far as cleanliness, selection, and options available here, this location gets 5 stars from me. At times, the deli can be a bit slow but usually they’re quick to service so I won’t dock them as I know we all have bad days. What else I love about this store: — Craft beer aficionados! They have a decent selection here, which is awesome to see more mainstream grocery stores like Safeway upping the ante and supplying them, although it sucks for the mom and pop liquor stores. — Bulk bins for grains, beans, etc, and loose leaf teas, that sell by the pound. — Fresh olive bar — Sushi counter with delicious looking selection — Self Check Out lines!!!(I can’t emphasize how much I love these). — Starbucks in-house, with friendly service(thus far) — They are open 24⁄7 =D They also have a little sports team clothing section with the local teams: GSW, Giants, and A’s. Keep it up, Safeway Cottle!!!

I just love love LOVE this new location. It’s a bit further away from me as i actually live closer to the Luckys on Bernal Road, but I’ve always been a Safeway fan. They have a great selection of meats and veggies, it’s a really big store, it includes a Starbucks and also has tons of parking. I really like the gas station… Makes for happy discounted gas purchases lol.

We’ve been coming here from time to time– yes it is further away from home but is convenient as Target, Marshalls, and Panda Express are all nearby. This is a brand new location– the store is beautiful, clean, nice atmosphere and the customer base seems pleasant enough. Unfortunately, I purchased several food items on sale today that were expired– my fault partially I should’ve checked. But expired in June and still on display at the front(by the entrance)? That is alarming in my opinion for a grocery store. Not the best experience in my opinion today, but they do have a better variety selection of cheeses and dips. I will be going back to the Los Gatos location from now on :)

New to the area-first time and last time in this Safeway-Please tell me, what happened to the pleasant Safeway employees– a simple good afternoon, good morning– I greeted this donkey of a cashier three different ways-all I received back was a do you have a Safeway card-on the way out I did tell her to have a pleasant afternoon and I hoped she got rid of her shitty attitude-by the way the Virgen on your forearm Andrea, is a bit trailer… I’m hoping this is not the new standard for Safeway — I have been in hospitality management for approx. 30 years & never have I allowed any visible tattoos religious or not Sam Hernandez

I love the Safeway in this part of San Jose! Then again, I just love Safeway in general. It’s new, it’s clean, spacious, and organized. It has a Starbucks, so that’s a plus – it closes usual time though, but the rest of the store itself is open 24 hours. This Safeway also has its own gas station – I wish we had that all Safeways… especially at the one closest to where I live. Is it just me, or is Safeway movin’ on up with their food lol… they’re selling brown rice sushi now?!? heyyy… hahaha…their hot foods aren’t all that bad… some a little on the salty end, but I avoid it as much as possible anyway…

I was waiting for this location to open for so long and am happy now that it’s here! But let me get something off my mind first, I HATE the parking lot! It’s just crowded and busy. And I don’t like the design. Last night I unloaded my groceries and there was a place for carts on the next row over. But I couldn’t get to it because they have ditch-like areas where you can’t even walk on. So you even have to walk in the middle of the cars, there is no walkway. Once you unload your groceries, you will most likely have to take your cart back to the entrance of the store or if you’re lucky, you will find a parking space on the isle of the cart area. What I do like is the fresh cut produce. I love the pineapple, watermelon, and cantaloupe bowls that are 3 for 10 dollars. It saves me cutting time, mess, and using bowls. The produce is nicely displayed too. Still getting used to the layout of the store in comparison with the Branham store. But I do enjoy shopping there and am really happy that they sell gas! Love using my gas rewards!!!

The new Safeway just opened and it’s a great looking store. There is a lot of selection for fresh food and it is nice and organized. I stopped in to pickup some turkey breasts on sale. Everything was clearly marked and I used the self checkout. The parking lot was a little crazy so be careful when you back out.

What I like about the Safeway is that it is spacious, well laid out with a great variety of items and a staff that clearly is motivated to make this store a great experience for the customers. What I don’t like, it’s their fault. It’s the parking. Most of the spots near the store are reserved for clean air fuel and compact cars. This caused such a problem at the Target in this area, they eventually repainted the spots. If you park on the other side of the lot, you may not be able to take your cart to your car, because the carts have electronic locks. Doh!

This Safeway is now open! I love shopping at Safeway for their fresh product. Everything seems to be decently priced, too. This Safeway location also has a gas station. I wish their parking lot is bigger. It was tough finding a parking spot during the grand opening.

Fresh produce, clean area and the setting in the store is BEAUTIFUL. They have a Starbucks, Pharmacy, Deli, Bakery, Self Check out Machines, and Safeway Gas Station! Safeway Gas: Super cheap and affordable. Use your card and you get 10c back(How awesome is that?! Most of the time we get CHARGED for using our card when we swipe!) Just like Costco, use your Safeway card/number and you get a certain percentage(I forgot how much. I shall update when I find out) back to spend! :) Everything about this Safeway is amazing, to their design and the look of the building. For some apparent reason when I am walking through the parking lot I feel like I am in another world lol.(Tell me why I feel that way I am not sure) Need I say not only do they sell food and produce. they sell SANJOSESHARKS, WARRIORS, 49ERS, ANDSFGIANTSGEAR here too!!! AyYYYyy lol those are my teams right there! They have their own section for fans(like me) and their apparel! *fan girling!!!* –1 Star for the parking space/lots. they could design/add more lots. It’s a bit tight and could be challenging to find parking so be AWARE! I’m so glad this Safeway is much closer on this side to SJ for the South. there’s not much grocery stores around there anyways besides Rite Aid down the street but still doesn’t do justice lol. How awesome is it that it’s part of the Village Oak’s Plaza too. Great addition to the plaza. can’t wait for all the other stores/restaurants to open. ;)

The produce was so fresh and they had a wonderful selection. The staff’s attitude was comparable to Disney lol. Everyone was smiling, offered to helped, asked if I wanted to sample things and even stopped me on the way out to ask if my son wanted a balloon. A grocery store was much needed in this part of South Sj and I couldn’t be happier. Five stars.

Great new store with lots of varieties of products. Besides their gorgeously organized produce, here are a few things this Safeway has: — a huge selection and of cheese — olive bar — Starbucks — deli — eating area — lots of prepared salads and cut fruit — decent bakery — a floral department — dry cleaning services — A GASSTATION!!! Cons: — Parking sucks! It’s so crowded. There’s too many stores here and not enough parking. — it’s so crowded in there and not too much room to maneuver. — I had to wait in line for a good 15minutes even though there was only 3 people in front of me. But ok, I’ll let that slide this time cause they just opened.
