Being first time buyers in our late 20’s, we were very nervous about locking in nearly all of our life savings in an asset that we weren’t even sure was going to appreciate given the recent housing market. That nervousness translated into four aborted and restarted home searches over the period of two years before we finally bought our house.
Through the entire time, Shefali helped answer any questions and even take us on property tours despite it being evident that we were not really ready to commit to buying yet. She’d drive an hour each way in evening traffic from San Jose to Union City to spend 20 minutes walking us through a home — now that’s commitment!
When we finally zoned in on a condo that met all our requirements, Shefali’s experience in dealing with banks on foreclosed properties was evident. She knew how the system worked, and was eventually able to get us the place for nearly $ 8K lower than the asking price in a market where people were bidding significantly above asking prices.
Overall, the combination of her commitment, experience and patience worked well for us and we’d work with her again in a heartbeat.
