The«mas puto» saga continues… After a very long session at the gym, I was rendered damn near immobile due to my own negligence and irresponsibility. For the past 10 months, I have taken a cocktail of workout supplements; and the massive gains have led me to improperly cycle on and off – in the correct manner suggested by my nutritionist. This causes me to overexert my bodily capabilities and this day was no different. Physical enhancement is quite the addiction. In fact, the other night I had a dream that I was a more chiseled version of Achilles, from the major ancient Greek epic poems the«Iliad» and the«Odyssey.» For those of you unfamiliar with the workings of Homer, Wolfgang Peterson butchered the«Iliad» by directing the relatively recent blockbuster movie, «Troy.» What a sham. Anyway, back to my dream. The setting was on the island of Ogygia. I had just gotten done making sweet love to Calypso, daughter of the Titan, Atlas. Probably wasn’t a smart idea — later on in my dream, one of my soldiers informed me that Atlas could carry the world on his shoulders. That’s a strong dude. Well, after Calypso left to fetch me some fresh fruit from the market, my cell phone went off; it was Poseidon, he wanted to warn me about some cumulus clouds that were building up in my area and that a massive funnel cloud would eventually turn into a devastating tornado. I was like, «Good looking out, P.» *fist bump* Then I awoke. Alright, sorry. I kinda went off on a tangent there, but when it comes to Ancient Mythology, obviously, I’m a big nerd. So, to finish my story — after leaving the gym, I was beat up, tired, cranky, and had an intense sweet tooth. Well, let me be a little more forthwright — there was some major MANstration going on. So I biked it across town to La Petite Bakery. I entered dressed rather masculinely: cut off shirt w/slit halfway down my body, Adidas basketball shorts, ankle socks tucked into shoes displaying my cankle-less ankles, and a pair of the most comfortable New Balance shoes. Skin glistening and ipod rockin’ out to the Nas beat, «It ain’t hard to tell», I take stock of my options behind the translucent pastry display; then, with my muscles bulging and veins protruding, I look at the sweet woman behind the counter and in my deepest James Earl Jones voice say, «May I please have two chocolate eclairs, please.» *cringe* The eclairs were pretty damn good, and satisfied my sweet tooth. Now, only if I could re-visit that dream. Calypso was an extraordinary and unique, goddess. I kinda miss her.

What a strange place.. .. it is as if a foreign women with only one skill(making mouth watering pastries) decided to try to open a business. The only good thing about this place is the delicious, amazing, incredible, very fresh sweets. Everything else is bizzaro! There is a big sign in the front that says FREECOFFEEWITHPASTRYPURCHASE.…So I was heading to Starbucks next door when I saw this. I changed my mind and decided to give Le Petite Bakery a try. I order a pastry and indicate that I want coffee(free please.) She hands me the pastry and then attempts to ring me up. She clearly could not work her own register, 10 minutes later she has taken my money and I still have no coffee. She is about to move on to the next customer when I remind her that I still need caffeine. She turns to the coffee machine to find, she forgot to turn it on this morning!!! ah, I wanted to shoot someone. Instead, I found a corner to sit in and eat my pastry. This helped with my low blood sugar and my very bad mood. The Bear Claw was out of this world! It had that really good crystal sugar on top! yum. I also watched the poor next customer go through a very similar situation as me, but worse. Not only would the register not work, but they argued about the price for 5 minutes. I have to say that the customer was clearly right and the owner is just simply not a business person. The last bizzaro thing I have to mention about this place is that off to the side they seem to have some sort of Mediterranean food in a case for sale. Strange to mix with coffee and pastries? Probably won’t go back since Starbucks is right next door and I need coffee daily.

The pla ce has changed. They have a new manager. I loved it. They are great. It has been seven months that they have opened… they know what to do now. Very very fresh… i will go back.

I stopped in on my birthday back in June. Like so many other reviewers, I was disappointed by the fact that none of the food have price labels. I had the banana crème puff and the pastry was stale and chewy. I didn’t feel like the food was worth the high price. And they advertise free coffee with each purchase, but apparently this doesn’t apply if you are getting your pastry to go. The store itself has a cute atmosphere though. But I’ll get my yummies elsewhere.

I’d like to go with 2.5 stars because it just wasn’t quite«A-OK.» I’ll try to be fair here and just state the facts. And in response to the previus«KT C.» reviewer, I have spoken directly to the manager. We stopped by Le Petite Bakery for the first time today on a whim. Unlike a previous reviewer I was immediately struck by their variety. Perhaps they have more now or it’s just their display? I could tell shortly after that the name of the Bakery was a little off the mark. This bakery is owned by and specializes in Persian goodies. I hope that wasn’t insulting to anyone… Here’s the rundown: Mini Fruit Tart(4⁄5) — Actually has chocolate coating the bottom(b/n the custard & crust)… This is the way I’m used to them! The fruit was a great assortment(1 blueberry /3 kiwi slices /1 peach! slice /4 small red grapes /1 strawberry wedge). The crust was a little soft, but not gummy. The glaze on top was NOT gelled & chewy, which is good. The custard was perfect consistency and the overall flavor was excellent. It could have used a bit more chocolate(may have kept the crust from getting too soft) but it was hard to stop eating the whole thing! Mini Éclair(2⁄5) — These are usually my favorite treat but these tasted pretty much like the kind you can buy frozen in bulk at Costco or Safeway. I was very disappointed by the chewy dough and the greasy filling. The chocolate on top was essentially flavorless. For $ 1.30 each(these things are the same size as those frozen ones too — tiny!) they weren’t worth it. Sesame and«Shell» Cookie(3⁄5) — I didn’t eat these cookies, but I am told they were average. As others have mentioned, there are few items with labels — none with prices, or I wouldn’t have gotten 3 mini-eclairs! They have ice cream too, which adds nice variety. Their cakes look very fancy, but I personally don’t like the taste of colored marzipan or fondant. I don’t think I’d actually want a piece. They also have little single-serving *pieces* of cakes… They have stiff plastic protecting their exposed sides, but I was disappointed they didn’t just have mini cakes. Part of the reason my review is a bit low is this: I had to drive back to the store after arriving home to discover the employee who served us had jammed the arm of the box lid into my fruit tart and ruined it. One of the eclairs had landed upside down at the bottom and the two cookies were soggy from the tart leaking. It was a disaster. I called the bakery and was handed over to the manager who offered to replace the entire order. This was great, except I had to drive all the way back there(took 40 minutes round trip)… When I got there, I received an apology but no offer to entice me to ever come back. That may be expecting a lot, but what has happened to customer service around here? Is it a cultural thing? I dunno. I wish I could rate this place higher but the«Meh, I’ve experienced better.» description just fits. I may try it again sometime, but I doubt it. I may as well just get those frozen eclairs from the grocery store and save money. For a real treat, I recommend that bakery by The Elephant Bar restaurant… La Patisserie on Stevens Creek… I’ve been there several times, and their crème puff(w/chocolate ganache) is twice the size of the mini eclairs here for the same price(and better!)

Haven’t been to the store itself, but last night at a social someone brought a chocolate-raspberry cake from La Petite. In addition to being downright gorgeous(green patterned marzipan-type frosting with real daisies on top), it was delicious too. The perfect amount of sweet — not too much, not too little. I really liked it and would definitely purchase it for myself in the future.

I was highly anticipating the opening of this bakery. The selection is meh. I like my bakeries teeming with pastries and baked goods(unless of course they’ve sold out). There was a little area for coffee and an ice cream display. wtf?! I got the strawberry tiramisu which was $ 4.95. The prices are similar to Cocola at Santana Row or Maison de Patisserie in VF mall. It tastes pretty good! I might go back to try something else but it seems like I’ll get bored easily. Upgrade…

THISBAKERYISCLOSEDDUETONON-SUPPORTOFTHELOCALS… Wow — tough crowd with the reviews so far! My husband and I go there every Saturday for fresh croissant and brioche donut. We are completely happy with the quality of the pastries and sweets. We haven’t tried the cookies yet, but am looking forward to them. Give them a break, people, they’re just starting out and need our support. I am grateful that they use organic and healthy ingredients in their recipes and that’s a very good starting point. Perhaps you can voice your concerns to the new business instead of hiding behind a computer bashing them.

This place sells stale(or previously frozen and defrosted?!) Satura cream puffs for some reason… Yuck, it tasted so stale I couldn’t finish it(gave the rest to my dog). I’m a Satura cream puff fan so when I saw it here, I thought«how lucky, I don’t have to drive all the way to Palo Alto to buy these anymore!!!» WRONG!!! I saw other Satura items but I’m glad I didn’t buy them. What kind of a bakery sells other bakery’s baked goods stale?! Weird!

Okay, so I was excited about getting a new bakery in my neighborhood… but as it turns out… no need to get excited. Yes, the little signs and packaging and some of the cakes make the place look like Satura(wouldn’t that be nice?). But it’s not. I got a brioche for my sons and a croissant. The brioche, though nice and soft on the inside and supposedly made from soy milk, was greasy greasy greasy on the outside. The croissant wasn’t great either. It was crunchy on the outside, but I think they should be crisp and light. It was a major disappointment. Oh, and I got a coffee… the lady said it was«dark», but if you ask me, way watered down. Horrible. I won’t be going back. I’d rather take myself to the real Satura. As we sat eating our pastries, I watched gobs of people go in and out of the Starbucks across the way… guess I should have known better.

3 ½ stars. I was so excited to see that a new bakery was opening in my area. When I drove by today, I saw that it had opened! Yay for bakeries :) The bakery is fairly small when you go inside, and there are just a few tables to sit down and enjoy your dessert. They have a variety of cakes, as well as some pastries, cookies, drinks, and even homemade marshmallows. If you have ever been to Satura Cakes(in Los Altos or Palo Alto), you will notice that Le Petite is strikingly similar. When I asked the employee if this is the same company as Satura Cakes, she responded by saying, «yeah, I think so.» Customer service needs to improve, especially during their grand opening days. Nice and clean inside since it’s a new building. but the interior isn’t as appealing as the Satura Cakes that I visited in Los Altos. That bakery definitely reminds me of being in Japan! As for the cakes, the chocolate raspberry cake was delicious and very moist. It wasn’t overly sweet either. The strawberry shortcake was also good – the white cake part is very light(similar to Japanese-style cakes). The mango coconut mousse cake was too sweet for me, so I wouldn’t recommend it. Also, the strawberry tiramisu isn’t very exciting – it was mainly a layer of cream and then a thin layer of cake with tiny bits of strawberries.
