Laura Stemmle, MD

My last review was 5 years ago, and now that my daughter turned 18 she won’t be able to see Dr. Laura anymore. She’s extremely sad because she loves Dr. Laura, Dr. Don and Dr. Rose. They’ve been wonderful with her all these years and we can’t imagine not being able to see them anymore…

We went to see Dr. Laura for the first time. We usually see her husband dr. Don but he was unavailable and thought we would try his wife out. Being first time parents, we has a few concerns regarding our 2 month old and Dr. Laura seemed to just want to rush us out. We didn’t feel as if she was really listening to our questions but instead just blowing them off and telling us what we wanted to hear. When it comes to your children, choosing a doctor is a tough decision. We will defiantly keep looking instead of going back to Dr. Laura. It is important to find a doctor that you are comfortable with.

My children have been patients of Alta Vista Pediatrics since birth; with twins having one primary Doctor was easiest when they were young. Dr. Donald Stemmle was our primary care for both my son and daughter until around 8. As they got older it was more comfortable for my daughter to request Dr. Laura for appointments. My daughter is now 14 and absolutely loves Dr. Laura Stemmle. Dr. Laura is such a caring and compassionate individual and handles every situation with such grace; she really has made doctor visits pleasant. Dr. Don Stemmle is still the primary for my son and has been awesome in every situation. I couldn’t ask for a better fit for my son and daughter, we are so fortunate to have them as doctors. We have seen every Doctor at this facility at least once and I think they are all fantastic as well as the great staff. It has been a bit difficult switching from Alta Vista to Palo Alto Medical, but this staff is well worth going through any changes to keep.

My daughter has been coming to Alta Vista Pediatric since birth. Dr. Laura has been her primary physician. She is awesome, taking as much time as needed to answer all my questions and has even expressed concern for me, as a parent and woman, to take care of myself, too.
We have interfaced with all the physicians there at one time or another. Dr. Don is also very good and not rushed. Dr. Rose is quiet but takes her time to explain everything. Dr. Ahmed is also good but for some reason by daughter doesn’t relate to him as well as the others.
I highly recommend this group. My daughter is now 15 and we’ve never had a problem.

I love Dr. Stemmle. I’m a very nervous first time mom and she takes plenty of time to talk with us about our little one. Her staff is fantastic as are the other drs in the practice. I’ve been able to call at anytime and get any question answered (including advice on how to get her to take a bottle.)
She is sympathetic to my lack of desire to let my baby CIO, whic is evidence of this group’s not taking a hard line, but talking to the parents. She explained an issue my daughter might have very calmly and we were able to make decisions that quickly alleviated any concern.
My favorite part is how she comes in and says «tell me everything» and she really cares! I’m so grateful to have them as my doctors.
