We hired Kika to create the flower arrangements for our wedding last May and she did a tremendous job. She was definitely one of our best vendors. I met with Kika after an unsuccessful meeting with our venue’s preferred florist. I worried that as an ikebana professional, her prices would be too steep for us. But she quoted us at a price $ 100 lower than the other florist’s estimate and after glancing for a few seconds at a photograph of the type of flower arrangements we had in mind, she instantly knew how it was put together and came up with numerous ways to add her own personal flair to it at no extra charge. Earlier this year, we had a little issue with our reception venue who wanted to charge us extra money because they wanted us to rent a room for her to work in for 1 hour to set up the arrangements. When I spoke to her, she insisted that she didn’t need the extra room if it would save us money. So she made her magic and when we got to the reception site, our arrangements were 10x better than our photograph. She and her assistants had added extra leaves and decorative touches to make them look more organic. She even added additional flowers to the arrangement on our bride and groom table and decorated our cake toppers! We could not have asked for better service. We were very impressed with her warmth, enthusiasm, and willingness to work within the limitations of our venue. We highly recommend her to any and everyone.

I ordered a floral arrangement delivered to my colleague at work, who received all the attention at her office with everyone wanting to know the name of the florist. Pricing is more than reasonable for the end product received. I would recommend this to anyone who needs floral service.

*********** I like Kika Shibata’s customer service************** Dropped by today after saying I will for what seemed like an eternity :) ! Ha! Glad I did. First encounter was with an equally friendly and warm person. She answered my questions very well and was very patient. When the question went to the $$ portion she went in and out came Kika! Kika was an absolute darling. I did not feel any pressure from her to join the Flower arrangement class. She explained how she teaches and when and how much and she made it simple and very interesting actually. No hard selling at all. She even showed us the two textbooks that her students would be using. Learning how to arrange flowers from Kika I predict would be great. She said that each class is $ 17/visit. You bring your own vase and she provides the flowers. What’s cool is you take home the arrangement that you practiced with at the end of the day. If your purpose is to learn and eventually teach as well she also will issue an International Certificate in the end. Pretty cool. When you walk in expect to see silk arrangements only and no fresh flowers. Why? Why bother? There would be fresh ones when a class is on. So go to the J-Town store Tuesday/Wednesdays when a class is in session. Bonus: She said that I could drop in and observe an active class. Get the feel if learning flower arrangement the Ikebana way is for me. This biz sits next to Blockbuster.
