Leif Erikson Park(LE) is another one to add to the list of CSJ’s «Meh Neighborhood Parks» list. Named after the famous Viking explorer this 1.5-acre sits in the middle of a nice middle class South San José neighborhood. There’s plenty of street parking and you can also use the school next door’s lot after hours. I actually remember coming here and getting some pick-up tackle football games together with the boys back in High School. The park hasn’t changed much since, other than the addition of the Tot Lot. Here’s a breakdown of LE’s features: 1) The aforementioned Tot Lot that’s pretty decent. As Räv V mentioned(in one of his tips) there’s a nicer Playground at the school next door, but it’s only available after-hours. 2) Water Feature(that wasn’t working when I went). 3) Big grassy fields for running around on(Ahh. The good ol’ days). 4) No restrooms. 5) BBQ& Picnic Tables. As you can tell there’s nothing special but nothing innately wrong with LE, either. It’s decent enough if you live close by, but I can’t really recommend it.
