Really good food. My favorite item is the jalapeño tamales(when there still some left). Service is good and like I said the food is too. Love their tacos!

THEBESTTACOSINSANJOSE! You didn’t read that wrong! This place is a hidden gem tucked away inside of the Fresco Supermarket near Eastridge. I always come to this place to pick up some meat to bbq with but I happened to come across the taqueria one day and order some tacos. They serve a variety of Mexican classic such as menudo, pozole, chili verde, etc! But I’m here to talk solely about those tacos. These are authentic street tacos consisting with your choice of meat(Carne Asada, Carnitas, Pollo, El Pastor, etc.) flour tortillas, onions and cilantro, THATSIT and thats how it should be. They also have assorted salsas to choose from for some extra flavor. The carne asada is my favorite. It is truly the best carne asada tacos I have ever had. The meat is super flavorful, has a bit of crunch to it and they don’t slack on how much they load on a taco. The tacos are also fairly cheap about $ 1.50 per taco which is a great price for the quality you’re getting.

I love elm’a taqueria! I think it’s a little gem that is located in fresco, that’s why it isn’t as popular as it can be. But the food is great and affordable. They have a lot of options to your usual carne fries, burritos, to puposas. Worth a check out!

Food was great. Meats had a great taste and well cooked. It did not feel like the food was old instead fresh. Fresh Fruit waters were also really tasty, not too sweet or unflavored. real mexican food, good place to stop by.

I love coming here for to fulfill my taco cravings! I work at the mall and sometimes I get so tired of food at the food court so I go across the street to come to Fresco and to go to Elma’s! Their tacos are great prices and very affordable! For 4 tacos, I spent $ 8! That’s a great price! Also, I like how they also have a variety of other dishes there which I’m still in need of trying! Plus, their staff is so friendly and welcoming! So if you’re ever on the East Side of San Jose, stop by Elma’s!

We had Elma’s cater for a pre-wedding party for my daughter in October. We are extremely happy with that choice. Throughout, they behaved with the utmost professionalism, courtesy, and helpfulness. A week before the event, one of their people called to go over the details and logistics. On the day of the event, they showed up even before the venue was open. The food was freshly made and delicious. We had an all-vegetarian menu with soft and hard tacos filled with grilled vegetables, fresh salsas of various kinds, chips, fresh guacamole, and agua fresca of 3 flavours. There were 2 people around to serve and replenish the food trays. Plus, their crew cleaned up after the event, so that we had nothing to but eat. Best of all, the price was extremely reasonable — well below a national chain that we looked at — where you had to pick the food up, set it up, and clean up yourselves. All in all a very pleasant experience with Elma’s — I would go with them in a flash for any future event, and strongly recommend them to my friends and everyone I meet. Thank you, Elma’s!!!

The best tacos I’ve ever tasted. They’re extremely authentic and cooked fresh for your order. I’ve taken a few friends to this place, and one told me that Elma’s was«life-changing.» Even better, these tacos are reasonably priced, so you will leave with both your wallet and taste buds satisfy. Elma’s truly deserves more recognition, and I hope they keep serving quality authentic Mexican food for a long time. P. S. This was a review solely based on my experience with the tacos. Elma’s menu is far-reaching, and there are many things left for me to try(posole, ceviche, micheladas, etc.). I’m sure everything else here tastes wonderful as well.

I’ve been going here pretty regularly for lunch because I work right down the street, and I’m surprised I haven’t left a review on this place any sooner! Always great service, bomb food and reallllly inexpensive too. I’ve had their carne asada fries, tacos, tortas and tostadas de ceviche. I absolutely love this place. One of my fav taquerias in SJ.

We had a huge pre-event for my wedding that was catered by Elma’s Taqueria. They did an awesome job first decorating their catering area, and 2nd for the quality of food provided. It was really, really good and the price was amazing. They really worked within our budget and also provided us with a really cool looking fruit tower that our guests loved.

As Event Planner, I am always looking for great caterers with awesome customer service. Elma’s Taqueria came through. After being stood up with another caterer. I called Elizabeth and she was very accommodating to take us earlier. The food was delicious, very nice and friendly, informative and willing to work with our budget. We were also very happy to find out they also provided linen, drapery and uplighting. Everything we were looking for. I will definitely be recommending Elma’s Taqueria to my clients. Thank you again for an awesome job!

This place seemed great. With all the reviews food was good, the asada fries were good. But my girlfriend ordered the ceviche and later on I see her puking on the bathroom. Which means food poisoning. She’s a culinary student & she says there wasn’t enough acid to cook the shrimp of the ceviche. Idk but that’s pretty disappointing since we saw good reviews on Unilocal and decided to try it now. Now I’m worried I’ll get food poisoning too! Wow I really liked this place too! Never going back.

Ordered 6 fish tacos for a friend and I. Boy were these puppies BIG! It’s amazing for the price and it’s awesome for how good it was! The menu is cheap and is very cultural. All in all I love this place and will be coming back!

This place is bombbbb!!! We were craving for Mexican food so our friend Sam told us that the taqueria in Fresco is actually really good. So we tried this place a couple of times and were shocked to find out good it is. Especially the carne asada tacos. Sorry El Paisa. Step aside. Because Emma’s definitely the best taqueria in ESSJ. We always get tacos, tamales, and we also tried a couple of their soups already. You’d think the soups would be salty like most places but it’s not. We get all those things and it only turns out to be $ 20. Comes with a bottle of Modelo too! Talk about money well spent.

Located inside the supermarket Fresco, beside Eastridge, Elma has quickly become my go-to spot for a quick Mexican food fix. I love their Spanish rice, its so fluffy. It can be a little bit salty at times, but nothing too distracting. I also love their horchatas and tacos. And also their salsa! You really can’t go wrong. The service is friendly, and prompt as well. I wish I had a food guide to help me navigate around their steam tray tables because I definitely want to try everything!

I’ve ordered food 3 times here already. Twice for lengua tacos and once for a lengua burrito. Pros:(delicious, good price, convinient) I really enjoy their food especially for quite a reasonable price. They also give me lots of meat every time! They also have happy hour. I believe it’s from 3−6pm on weekdays when you can get 4 tacos(beef, chicken) for $ 5. Whenever I go shopping at Fresco, i always get the cravings and it’s just there! Also, they do have to-go, and they also cater. They also have quite a variety of food too. =) Cons: –I once had very dry limes(out of the 3 times i’ve been there) that I couldn’t even get a drop out of those limes. –Once i asked the chef(who’s an elder man). I asked him for spicy sauce, but he didn’t understand. The girl understand English well though. [I think these cons are easily improved upon, so 5 stars!] Overall: I would definitely go here again, and I also recommend this place.

Came in for micheladas with my cousin and a friend on a Friday night. The actual taqueria is located inside of the Fresco World Supermarket and they do have outdoor seating, but it was cold so we decided to sit inside. There was nobody else there besides us three. Service was quick and friendly. We only ordered shrimp tostadas and micheladas. The micheladas were awesome! I had three and each one was delicious! They put a seasoned shrimp on the glass as a yummy garnish and season the rim of the glass with tajin. I didn’t get a chance to try the tostada, but my cousin said it was his new favorite placew to get them so I’m guessing they were pretty darn good. Who would have thought a supermarket taqueria could have some amazing drinks and food?! I’ll be back here soon I’m sure.

Honestly if I had one way to describe my experience at Elma’s, it would be like those parents in Spirited Away who turn info pigs on account of the delicious Chinese food. Except imagine that in East Side San Jose. With Mexican food. Located within Fresco Supermarket. Huge selection of Mexican dishes. Ordered #10 Steak Ranchero for about $ 12 with a large lemonade — great value. Only one table and four chairs though! The beef was cooled perfectly; the peppers were amazing and complemented the dish’s rich flavor. The tortillas were a okay and tasted fresh. The frijoles weren’t gross and the Mexican rice had the right texture — above all it tasted AMAZING. East side Mexican food has been hiding out here. Washed it down with a nice large fountain lemonade — the service was nice(pretty girl to boot ^_^) A+++
