This little hole in the wall is great. It use to be a Wienerschnitzel. They have a drive through, they don’t have an inside eating area but they do have an outside eating area. So if it is a nice day we just sit outside. There isn’t much parking but the food is so good it’s worth going. They have great Carne Asada(grilled beef), Carnitas(pork) and Lengua(beef tongue) tacos. Their tacos are great, it comes with onion and cilantro and lemon on the side. Their green sauce is good. They offer so much more. I also enjoy the Horchata. The staff is very friendly. I do like their sign that says Be Nice or Go Home. My son works late so he appreciates the fact that they are open late.

I don’t get anything else here but the Veggie burrito and it’s always killer For $ 5.98 it’s a good deal and fills you up Bad thing is if you come around lunch their made kinda fast and if it’s not wrapped right the bottom blows out If that happens just cup your foil under it and your good to go, grab a spoon in case it just disintegrates Check it out

Looks like it use to be a winershnizle. Drive past it at least 1000 times so one day i decided to try It out. The dude at the window shorted me on my change back but I always notice. I thought it was overpriced and wasn’t notbing special. Many other places I’ve tried are cheaper and better.

I love this place! When I crave fish tacos this is the place I go to. The produce is fresh and the food is excellent! Open late, which is also great. The people working here are super friendly.

Cool little drive through. I liked the sign on the window thay said«be nice or go home» The folks working there were super friendly too. The combo of these things prompted me to buy a burrito for a homeless dude standing out in the rain. Anywho…I always try the Carne Asada Burrito Supreme at a new taqueria, its kinda like a baseline for the place. I wasnt disappointed. Fresh is the best way to describe it. Dont normally enjoy lettuce in a burrito bt they made it work. The asada was bomb, some good pico in there. I’ll be back

I just love this place. I eat here like twice a week. It is convenient and they have a drive thru which was really handy when I was recovering from pneumonia. The food is fresh and delicious. I especially like their tostadas they that is a good lite lunch. The only item I did not care for was the«sopes». The burritos are good too.

Just checking out the spots nearby and they got a drive-thru so it seemed pretty convenient. I was pretty disappointed though, I ordered their no. 6 which is a torta and you get to choose your choice of meat. First of all, I don’t know why they even have this as a meal since it does not come with chips/fries and a soda, which most meals at most places do! The number 6 is just the torta… go figure… anyhow, I had the carne asada torta with a side of fries and that came to about $ 10 give or take. The torta was super soggy in this super thin break which made it hard to eat without falling apart. The meat was sauteed and bland, not grilled as the«asada» term suggests. There was no salt on the fries and no salt packets provided. You get two small cups of salsa, a green one and a red one, but to me they both have the same nasty oregano taste. They do have breakfast burritos and that would be a good reason to stop by in the mornings, but they don’t open until 9 so there goes that idea…

Literally stumbled to this place after a night of shenanigans at my new spot in the neighborhood. On the weekends, I appreciate how they stay open until 1:30 am, which is perfect drunchie time. The homies and I were excited to venture to this walk-up/drive thru taqueria. I went for their Sonoran Dog, which is basically a bacon wrapped hot dog topped with peppers and onions. I also ordered the boyfriend a regular carne asada burrito. To my surprise, everything was under 10 bucks! The younger cashier was super friendly and efficient to get our large party their order ready immediately. The food itself was really tasty and not overwhelmingly greasy or salty, which is always a plus in my book. I definitely need to come back here to try this spot sober, so I can truly experience their grub. Overall, if you’re in the area and craving some late night Mexican cuisine, then definitely check out El Jalapeño Rojo.

This place is my Saturday night — late night go to. The chili verde is the best in town… Everything is fresh and made right there… plus they have a drive-thru!

A drive thru. Place to eat outside. Friendly staff. Quick service… all good things for me. The price is reasonable. I am hooked on the xhimichanga. Yummy. Easy to get in and out and entry of parking. I have eaten here about a dozen times and very consistent.

My burrito«Go to place»! This is one of the best taquerias in San Jose. The burritos are big, fresh, and tasty. The tortilla isn’t wet or soggy and holds up well. I’ve also ordered the garlic shrimp and it is awesome! They serve you a lot of shrimp for the price and it’s very tasty. It is located on a small lot so there isn’t a lot of room to park. I recommend the drive thru. They’re quick and friendly.

So good! I wish the salsa was a little spicier but the meat was good and everything was really fresh! I love the drive thru and the cashier was an absolute doll.

This place is a joke. Some young ass kid working there (who claims he is the manager) decided to give me major attitude as I was ordering my food. This is the worst customer service I have ever had. As I was ordering this«boy» kept stating to me «are you done yet!?» «I got it» in the most shittyist attitude ever. Not to mention the guy who was taking my order slammed the drive thru Window on me as I was talking. This place is horrible and I can assure that this family owned business has lost revenue from my family and i and who knows who else. It’s a shame and embarrassing to have this type of person representing a business.

Ever wondered what it feels like to have sloppy seconds? Order a burrito from El Jalapeño Rojo with no rice, no beans and you’ll know: . On the bright side, at least you won’t get knocked up or get STDs. You’re welcome! OTHERNOTES: *Drive-thru taqueria that’s open till 1:30 am on the weekends. —Soooooo slow. Ten minute wait with one car ahead. –Outdoor seating only. *Menu: tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, sopas(they have menudo on the weekends), chimichanga, bacon hot dogs, enchiladas, burgers, etc.($ 6.50-$ 8.50). –Carne choices: Al pastor, Carne asada, Chili verde, Pollo, Carnitas, Chorizo, Lengua –No free chips & salsa(+$ 2.75). –«Super» = cheese only?!? –CC’s accepted. *Execution: wet and sloppy. They didn’t drain the braising liquid and didn’t wrap our burrito tightly. Had we unwrapped half the foil, the burrito would have drooped like a whiskey d*ck. Ordered«super» and there was no sour cream or guacamole. And, they put lettuce in their burritos. Yuck. –I would not come here sober which should give you an indication of how the food is. *2 stars for the food and 1 star for convenience for lazy phucks like myself.

Carnitas burrito was not good — tasted like lard. Quesadilla was fine(hard to mess that up) and chicken salad was large and fresh.

A little no frills Mexican restaurant. Drive through or order at the counter and sit at their outside seating assuming its nice out. It was quick, cheap, and large quantities of food. However, I got the carnitas burrito and it was just so-so. Not the best but better than La Victoria down the road. I would return out of convenience but not go out of my way.

Is it bad to eat the same thing three times a week, because since we’ve found this place that’s how it’s been. No joke. It’s kind of ridiculous, gf gets nachos every time but not me. I branch out and get the torta, enchilada, floutas, quesadillas, and today I am ordering the garlic shrimp. For some odd reason they have a hamburger on the menu, but who would order a hamburger when they have such great Mexican food. I would give this place 6 stars if I could.

This is literally next door to my office so we eat takeout from here quite a lot. The Mexican food is entirely competent, freshly prepared and very reasonably priced. I can’t decide or they can’t decide whether it’s El Grullense or El Jalapeño Rojo… same place though. There basically is only takeout although they have some patio furniture you can sit at. They also have a drive-through so it’s sort of like a taco truck you travel to instead of the other way around.

The El Grullense here has been re branded. Still one of the weirder spaces where the drive thru goes into the middle of the building. Tacos are almost $ 2/per but theyre stuffed. Pastor, lengua and cabeza are solid. Workers are friendly and joked around with us as we picked up our food. Only an outside seating area or youre driving through to take home
