I do not advise. Until today fix their poor-quality work.

Just completed a bathroom remodel. Mike and his subs did an excellent job with excellent recommendation on materials, good attention to detail, timely completion, and excellent response when correcting problems. I would definitely use De Anza Builders again.

We selected De Anza Builders to help us with the remodel of a ranch-style home we purchased in Sunnyvale. The work involved a complete remodel of kitchen, hall bathroom, flooring in the office and installing a 3-panel sliding door. We were very satisfied with the end results. The job ended a few weeks behind schedule, which ended up being a minor inconvenience, but what was important to us was the quality of the workmanship. We were very pleased with Mike Pennington, the owner and general contractor. He was good about explaining things to us and extremely responsive via email and text messages. We got so many texts(all appreciated, of course) giving us quick updates and asking questions that my husband signed up for a texting plan the two months of the remodel. We also liked that he stayed on top of his contractors and prodded them when needed to stay on schedule. The day we got our permit, he was raring to go with the demolition. Mike put us in touch with an architect who also ended up being great. He was a good listener and presented four kitchen options that met our requirements. Coming up with the plans and getting them approved could not have been smoother. In general, Mike was great about connecting us with the right people and telling us where we could source stuff on our own: e.g., go here for your appliances, you’ll find the best prices on faucets here( ), etc. We had a lot of interaction with Mike, as he was at the job site often. He was hands-on. Any work that did not require the expertise of his subcontractors, he was doing. He prepped stuff, he cleaned, he painted the exterior after the stucco guy finished his work, he installed our garden window, he took down the old kitchen cabinets and installed them in our garage. And he was just super helpful with any issues that came up with our house, whether it had to do with the plumbing or sprinkler system. As any homeowner who’s been through a remodel will tell you, things will go wrong or finish late. Our experience was no different. The cabinet maker ended up taking longer to deliver on the cabinets and that pushed everything else in the kitchen back(counters, plumbing, electrical). That was a bit frustrating. Looking back, though, we like the results so much that the inconvenience of not having our kitchen for those few weeks doesn’t seem like such a big deal.
