Just a very bad experience overall!
Came for fungus issues. The doctor proposed me a $ 1000 laser treatment not covered by my insurance. I politely declined.
He then basically did not respond to my questions, did not follow up with my insurance (had to pay full price for my medications even if they were supposed to be covered), they did not even return my pharmacist’s calls about the insurance inquiries as he was shocked that nothing was done for me to get the coverage I should!
Not to mention an impolite staff.
They could not care less.

Dr. Mednick is a very competent doctor,
I trusted him implicitly to have my hammer toes operated on, and then he fit me for orthodic inserts. I am an avid tennis player, and my feet need support so that I can withstand 3 hours of twisting and running after that stupid ball !!
I can do this now like never before !!

From the front office staff in San Jose to the orthotics to being «stood up» by the doctor, the entire experience was disappointing, irritating, and costly.
The initial appointment was fine. My daughter was being seen for ankle pain. She has very flat feet, she pronates, and she’d been rolling an ankle on a regular basis. Dr. Mednick recommended orthotics.
Made the second appointment. The office canceled it. I was informed that the doctor had to pick someone up at the airport. Are you kidding me? The doctor cancels to pick someone up? If that’s actually the case — don’t let your patient know!
Second (rescheduled) appointment, we arrived and were greeted by no one. The receptionist was texting. She did not look up for several minutes. This is unconscionable. Incredibly unprofessional. She finally looked up — but only long enough to tell us that someone (else, apparently) would be with us. Then she went back to texting. Once she stopped texting, she got on the phone and spoke in a very loud voice. Patients do not need to hear her conversation — whether it was personal or business related. She was actually violating the patient’s privacy by screeching what the patient’s situation and care were.
We were escorted into the exam room to wait for the doctor. *He never showed up.* The assistant gave some excuse — but honestly, I don’t care what the excuse was. It wasn’t as if he was delayed because he was delivering a baby.
After 20 minutes of waiting, the assistant (who, as far as I can tell, is the only competent and reliable person in this office) did my daughter’s foot scan herself. I questioned then, and continue to, how a scan can be done, then a mold made, with no pronation measurements, no placement of the foot in the correct position — and then to add insult to injury — it was done by someone who isn’t the doctor. Even if the doctor has the utmost of confidence in the machine and its product, I DON’T and there was no one there to convince me otherwise. I walked out assuming that the orthotics would not fit my daughter well.
Third appointment. The orthotics can not be worn. They are too narrow, too deep, and don’t position her ankle accurately. We left after Dr. Mednick ground them down, polished them up, and instructed my daughter to get used to them gradually. Not so much. I’ve seen another podiatrist and two physical therapists. All agreed. The orthotics went in the trash.
Physical therapy was never recommended — I insisted on it. He wrote a prescription on a pad that dictated where the appointment was to be made. NO. I will choose my child’s physical therapist. She’s certainly not going to go with a recommendation from a completely incompetent office.
Physical therapy is the only thing that has given my daughter any relief. And Dr. Mednick gets NONE of the credit. We won’t be back.

I’ve had foot problems for a while and I finally made an appointment to get it checked out. I’ve called a few specialist in the area but they didn’t have appointments until a month or two out. I called Dr. Mednick and was surprised I got in so quickly. I was thrilled that I got an appointment right away. I came in 20 minutes early to my appointment just in case I needed to fill out paperwork. As I was completing the paperwork, an old lady came in who had an appointment right after me and she was seen before me. I was seen 15 minutes after my appointment which made me mad. I came in early for nothing. When I was finally seen, the doctor was cold and not personable.

I had a bad experience with the office. I was scheduled for surgery and came in the day before for pre-​op only to find that Heather never scheduled with the surgery center. That would have been fine but they then tried not to tell me and get it schedule — the doctor was surprised to see me and kept referring to bunions (not my problem) and the surgery center called to tell me they needed 1k upfront which no one had told me and that they still were having trouble with finding the antesiologist because no one scheduled it — the experience was so disorganized I passed and went home.

I went to Dr. Mednick’s office last year because of plantar fasciitis. I told him that I was laid off since 2009 and was looking for a job, but I was stressed because of the foot pain. I wanted to be able to work and my feet ached so much that I feared I wouldn’t be able to work.
The doctor did an examination and took x-​rays. He said I would benefit from shock wave therapy and I said okay. Well, the treatments went on for weeks and while they helped some, my feet still didn’t get completely better. He also did ultrasound which showed the fascia muscle was swollen in both feet. Each week he did the shock wave and wrapped my feet. There were two visits where he rushed through the taping of my feet and the bandaged came off as I walked to the car.
Since the doctor had mentioned orthotics several times, I finally decided to get them. There was no mention of cost and I should have asked but I thought it would be only be around $ 200 to $ 250. Being laid off, money was a big concern. I had COBRA coverage and I tried to make sure I had enough in my HSA to cover for Rx and other doctor visits.
I finally got the orthotics and went to try on shoes with them but they cause me so much pain that I couldn’t use them. I called the office to return the orthotics, but got no reply. When I called a couple of months later, Rachael, the office manager, told me she’d talk to the doctor and get back to me about returning the orthotics and also getting my money back. I waited and waited — 4 months total before calling them again in March of 2011. I was again promised they would either fix the orthotics or I’d get my money refunded. But no one called me and it seems like they just want me to go away. I am not working yet and the feet still have problems and I am stressed.
I have been more than patient with this office but they just won’t help to get this resolved. Today I went to their web site and emailed them after the promised phone call never came. Heather from the office said she’d call me right after she talked to the doctor and I waited all day to hear from her. This is very distressing. I wish I had never gone to this podiatrist. The insurance company went ahead and paid them and they can’t help me. They suggested I deal directly with the doctor’s office.
I will come back and change the rating from on star if they will refund me the $ 50 in credit on their books and also refund the orthotics money. But I don’t have much hope of it happening.

Dr. Mednick’s treatment for Plantar Fasciitis is awesome! No surgery so no down-​time, nor mind-​numbing meds.
The treatment takes about 20 minutes. A hammer-​like tool sends a shock wave treatment to the heel. In addition to the office treatment, there are at-​home therapies that include exercises and a night brace. Tape wrapped around the foot seems to help as well.
After four treatments, my rather painful heel is feeling better. I recommend Dr. Mednick and his kind staff.
