I meant to post my original review to their other location. I haven’t been to this specific store so I can’t comment on their service. I don’t think I can delete this review so I’m just updating it here. I’m giving it 3 stars since I don’t think it’s fair to keep it at 1 star when I haven’t even went there before.

Drinks are good. Food is bad. I work in the Knight Ridder building, so this place is very convenient for me to get coffee and snacks. I’ve tried the red velvet latte, mocha latte, and the lychee ice tea. The red velvet is my favorite. Very rich and nutty. I did not like the Mocha latte at all. I’ve read a lot of good reviews on it and thought I would give it a try. Before taking a sip, there was a weird aroma. I took a sip, and it was even stronger plus it was extremely sweet. Not sure if mine was made poorly, but I couldn’t finish more than 4 sips and ended throwing it away. Finally, the lychee ice tea. I thought it was very watered down and would much rather have it at a boba place. Now, the food. The menu for the food was overpriced. Starting a $ 5ish for a breakfast sandwich. Maybe it wasn’t that expensive, but I’ve seen cheaper places that taste way better. Anyway, I ordered a breakfast burrito for about $ 6. I received it in a small square Styrofoam to-go box. «How can a burrito fit into such a small box» I thought to myself. Of course, I opened the box to find a sad tiny burrito. They burrito wasn’t even filled and there was so much tortilla left over that they had to fold in the extra flour tortilla. Please refer to my picture to see what I am talking about. This place would be better if it just sold drinks. I’ll continue coming here for my morning pick-ups, but I will stay away from the food there.

*Warning: I may be a little biased due to the fact that I work in this building. As a self proclaimed coffee connoisseur, this place’s coffee isn’t PERFECT, but is heck of a lot better than other major coffee chains. +1 for using coffee ice cubes in their iced coffee(or other drinks if requested!) I visit this café at least once a day. In fact, I have made it a goal to try everything they offer at least once. I must commend their mocha though! At first, I was hesitant to order it since I didn’t want to deal with the overly sweet mocha flavor(such as at Starbucks) but was pleasantly surprised when it was a stronger coffee flavor, as opposed to a chocolate flavor. A+ for mochas! [I write this review as I sip on my soy caramel macchiatto with coffee ice cubes]

The best thing about this place is the appearance. Its good at making you feel at home, very comfortable. I’ve come here to read before and its relatively distraction free. The drawbacks are the price and the wifi. All you will get out of it will be enough to open email without pictures. Forget watching videos or work that requires fast network speeds. I suppose it’s better than nothing. $ 4.75 for a medium drink is kinda pricey so this isn’t a weekly place for me. They make awesome drinks though. Haven’t tried the food yet, but a lot of the pastries looked tasty.

Paid $ 4.75 for a med. blended mocha. The drink was incredibly sweet but still delicious. I like the brightly colored walls and modern design. Disliked the horrible WiFi

I visited Crema Coffee Roasting Co. very briefly as I was dropping my girlfriend off. Located right by the San Jose Museum of Art, it has a really nice modern ambiance to it. After ordering a caramel mocha mixed ice drink and a dipped coconut macaroon from a very friendly barista, I had a seat at one of the tables to talk. The cookie was given to me immediately after I ordered it and the coffee came relatively quickly afterwards(although I attribute this to the fact that it wasn’t incredibly busy when I went). Now I like to think I know what I’m talking about when it comes to macaroons and I have to say this one was good, but thats just about it — It wasn’t the best I’ve had and it’s very far from the worst. However, the coffee I ordered was what I actually came to Crema for and I have to say I was not disappointed. The caramel mocha(akin to a caramel mocha frappaccino from Starbucks) was pretty much on par with what I was expecting. So all in all the service was great and I left satisfied with what I ordered. If you’re in the area, I would reccomend you give it a shot.

Was looking forward to a great cuppa joe but unfortunately this was a miss. Ordered a cappuccino and it was bitter, light on steamed milk and not super hot, so it quickly turned lukewarm during the 5 minute walk back to my hotel. Disappointed, I ended up getting a large drop coffee at the starbucks at my hotel and adding the cappuccino to it with more cream to make it drinkable. The café itself is not really cozy, but probably good for a quick meeting over coffee.

Great little coffee and sandwich place. I had the jitters from their iced coffee for days. I loved their tuna melt as well.

Very friendly team of coffee brew masters that will make each cup of coffee with love and one cup at a time. You can’t say you’re a coffee lover until you’ve been here.

Pretty good for my first time at this Crema(there’s one on the Alameda), I had their scrambled eggs with sausage platter. The food was filling for $ 4. I like the feel here BUT1 star taken off b/c they do not have a bathroom and their WiFi wasn’t working for me.

Wednesday morning rush is a solemn affair. The 2 gals behind the counter keep their backs to you until they catch up on their orders. Avoiding all eye contact or conversation. Customers stand like the Caffeine starved Zombies we are. Quiets as a church. After several minutes I left in search of less corporate and livelier haunts.

Good coffee rude service. Can’t have it all I guess. but I’m glad it was the coffee that was exceedingly satisfying. I got a searing hot white mocha and I must agree with all the reviews that it was right on point, Not too sweet(just like the baristas haha)

Crema near the Fairmont is in a great part of downtown. It is quite picturesque :) Crema has plenty to seating indoor and outdoor. You can also hang out at the park across the street! I love the simple interior and it is very clean. The staff are always friendly and I giggle inside every time they smile at me. I’m been here more times than I can count and love it more everytime. They have a great breakfast and lunch menu to choose from as well as coffees, teas, juices, and smoothies. My favorite thing to order is the almond crossaint(lightly sweetened) and the mother earth from the lunch menu.

Great place for a quick lunch break. Outdoor seating is nice on a warm day. As for the coffee, I’m not super impressed(I am a major coffee addict) and I prefer the iced coffee over the hot which won’t fare well in the fall/winter. Sandwiches are DELICIOUS and warm, can’t wait to try one of the salads next time. Our office is around the corner so we’ll be back regularly!

I would much rather go to a somewhat local coffee shop any day over Starbucks. I popped in after lunch today to feed my coffee addiction and ordered a regular iced coffee. For $ 2.75 I got a large iced coffee and I really like the fact the ice cubes are made of coffee so it doesn’t get watered down. I’m a bit snobby when it comes to coffee and typically make my own iced home brew at home(don’t judge). The iced coffee was a bit bitter to me but leaps and bounds better than Starbucks, but not as good as b2, Roy’s, or my own :) For sure worth going to when you need a pick me up and the location is quick, not busy, and close to work.

Came by for a mocha the other day and it was pretty tasty. Surprisingly, this is a chain with the second location on the Alameda. The coffee shop was tucked away behind the old skating rink which made it slightly challenging to locate. The coffee was decent and the staff was friendly. This location seems to be better than the one on the Alameda. Coffee: 3.5 stars Service: 4 stars Mocha was ~$ 3.4

So… I was strolling the park while on break at work when a familiar sign caught my eye. What’s this? Could it be? My beloved neighborhood café has set up shop just a hop, skip, and a go across the plaza?! It’s true. Now I can score a Moroccan mint iced tea, or my usual double shot of espresso to enjoy while I’m soaking up the Vitamin D around the plaza. Breakfast and lunch offerings are ample, but I would really love some Ciao Bella gelato at this location. A girl can dream, can’t she? Winning.

Whew! I thought the first Crema on The Alameda closed their doors. This is actually their number 2 location! Woohooo! This is definitely a classier location. Sandwiched between the SJ Museum of Arts and the Fairmont Hotel. Parking can test your patience a bit. But there are metered parkings at one hour maximum in front of the hotel. Or pay premium and park in the hotel garage. Your choice:). I noticed that all their breakfast offerings are at $ 4 each. I was skeptical but gave it a try. I ordered the Scrambled Egg Plate. Switched it up a bit and asked my egg over medium instead with sourdough toast and bacon. Simple enough. It came out pretty good actually. As requested! I’m impressed! The bacon was not oily and was very crunchy but in tiny pieces. I’m not used to the size but believe me it’s all there! We also had the Vegetable Omelette with extra meat, bacon and a sourdough toast. Lol! I know right? Ruined a veggie meal. What can I do? Meat rules our brain and stomach almost always :). For this meal because of the extras it’s an additional whopping $ 1! That takes this meal to $ 5. This meal was very good! Get this one Unilocalers! White chocolate mocha with their thick whipped cream: $ 3.55. Fast service. Awesome staff. Great location. Super affordable breakfast prices! Total for two: $ 12.55! Note: if you are looking for a gut busting gigantic portion like you can get you know where– this is not for you! This was perfect after a gut busting toilet breaker Unilocal Event last night! Strong wifi!
