Woah? Why the bad rap? It’s not the best-looking part in the San Jose community, and one could argue it’s a little bit rundown — but I really like Columbus Park. Here’s a more than positive review for Columbus Park. Stuff I like to do here: [1] Watch planes land at San Jose airport. [2] Read books(my local Recyle bookstore is nearby!) [3] Go for a run. [4] Check out neighboring Guadalupe RIver Trail or the Rose Garden. [5] Check out a baseball game or walk your dog. Plenty of street parking. It’s just really cool to see the aviation. A– Deserves better than your two stars.

A nice little park, if you like spending your time just underneath an airport runway. Word loud does not even begin to capture the concept of having an airplane just above your head. On the other hand, there is a pretty decent rose garden and the Guadeloupe trail nearby, which makes the trip worth it. Sort of…

Well it seems that Chucky has brought in the local storm troopers and rousted all the LOE’s back to the edges of civilization. I reckon they’ve moved further down the street to the edges of The Mighty Guadalupe, since the dry season is coming up. Did any of this solve the growing LOE problem in SJ? No, but it sure made the park a little easier on the eyes. Don’t get me wrong, this park is still a complete dump, but at least I don’t worry about getting assaulted every time I need to swing by and use the head.
