I’ve been here a few times before with my younger sister, but tonight we came in a group of 8 people(5 adults and 3 kids) and it was really slow so we were seated right away. The restaurant is pretty conveniently located with plenty of parking. We ordered 4 bun bo hue, 2 rice plates and an order of egg rolls. The food didn’t take very long to come out. My younger sister asked for extra spicy chili peppers and boy were they spicy! I really enjoyed my bun bo hue even though I was dying from all that spiciness!

This place is surrounded by so many restaurants that sell the same things. I stumbled on this restaurant because it wasn’t pact. Walked in and was seated right away. Me and my friend literally sat down without a menu for 9 minutes. We aggressively asked for the menu and the waiter didn’t even ask us if we wanted water after handing us the menu. Okay, I got you! But, I understand, it was quite busy. Overall, the food was out really fast. I couldn’t even finish the food I ordered. It was too much to handle! I will be coming back whenever I’m in town.

I’m rating three things here. The spring rolls — 5. They’re not as good as my boyfriend’s mom’s. but they are fantastic and I think I’ve developed an addition to them. The sauce is phenomenal. Bun Bo Hue — 3.5. It was good, not as good as some, but definitely worth the price, and it comes out super fast. Service– 4. Now, keep in mind, this is going to be nothing like the service you’d expect at a high class restaurant, but they are nice. They don’t speak the best english, but they try to understand you, and they are fast! Something amusing to look out for is that they’re a sister-restaurant to the Phở place in the same parking lot, so they frequently bring items and completed dishes from one restaurant to another. Cute!

Good noodle soup! But horrible service. Had to talk to 3 different employees to get my order right. I ordered a smoothie and didn’t get it until I finished my food. And on top of that they use styrofoam cups so that got me pretty mad.

This place used to be a cheap and quick place to come for bun bo hue. Quality isn’t great, but it was cheap and a good quantity for the price. Now the price has increased, the quantity cut down, and the quality hasn’t improved. No reason to come here anymore.

I ordered two pork sandwiches. Not a fan. The sandwiches didn’t have enough vegetables. I’ve definitely had better. Another annoying tick, I asked if they can sell me a pc of plain baguette for my daughter since she was having tummy issues.(Note: my daughter was next to me, clinging onto my leg.) They said, «No». I told them I was willing to pay for it and they gave me a lame excuse, which I couldn’t even understand since the lady at the counter spoke very little English. For crying out loud, really??? SOOOLAME, it’s not like I wanted to buy their whole inventory of bread. Definitely not a fan of their customer service.

I love going here for some rice. The rice is not to dry or burnt. Every time I order a meal with rice I can never finish the rice. I think this place is the same owner as Beef Noodle #1 because you can even order ph here too. The workers here are friendly. The restaurant is clean.

Oh my goodness… I ordered their bun rieu when I got here… I was okay other than the fact that the pork blood was undercooked when it was served… ITGUSHEDOUTREDBLOOD… If some aren’t familiar. The pork blood aka vietnamese chocolate, needs to be a solid brown not red and gushy. In addition to this. The fresh veggies that they brought us looked like it was literally picked from the garden. There was a SNAIL on my mint and lots and lots of dirt specs all over my veggies… My aunt talked to them regarding the bowl and they just walked off. They didn’t even say anything to us. So we called one of the servers over again to let him know our situation. We asked if we could get a new plate of veggies and for the pork blood to be removed from the order. Without really listening he asked us «so you want a new bowl right?» And then left to put the order in. When they brought the replacement for our bun rieu it had pork blood in it. But this time they microwaved it! So I guess it’s fully cooked. But after seeing all that blood gush out from the previous bowl… Meh… Not eating it. In summary I will probably never return LOL. Their customer service is terrible. they didn’t really listen to any of our concerns. They didn’t even apologize for the multiple mistakes. It was a very unpleasant family outing. If anyone does plan on eating here drink lots of hot tea! It’ll help ease the stomach ache :)

I like their BBH here a lot. I prefer it over An Nam because of the sliced beef. An Nam has this weird congealed deformed meat that shrivels up and is so distracting to me. The sliced beef is perfect, and I love their broth(pipping hot, just the right amount of oily, and savory sweetness). It’s also a crazy convenient location with a gas station and Target nearby. BBH, gas, and shopping at Tarjay? Count me in!

Their Bun Bo Hue and rice plates are consistently good. I would say this is my go-to spot for good Vietnamese cuisine when I’m not willing to make the commute to Milpitas for Phở Mai. Although their spring rolls taste fine, I can tell that they’re not freshly made, because they come out within a minute or two of placing your order. Service has always been pretty friendly, especially when compared to your average Asian restaurant service.

This rating is for their banh mi only. My husband ordered a banh mi cha ba chi as we wanted a small snack to munch on our way to the city. The sandwich is pathetic! 2 slice of cha for the entire sandwich and the ba chi was wet and way too red. It made the inside of my sandwich soggy and drippy with every bite I took. What a stingy and shady sandwich! Not worth the $ 3.50. Huong Lan sandwich has more meat in their sandwich for a lower price. Even to say Phat Tri is not the bestest but for $ 4.50 you can definitely fill 2 ppl with just one sandwich. Never again!(Pls see my 2 pics)

Variety of rice and bun plates. I ordered one of the bun plates with grilled chicken instead of pork, 2 eggrolls, and skewered shrimp. Portions are LARGE. This could have easily fed two people or one with leftovers the next day. Total came out to $ 9.50 which is really good for the amount of food that came with it. They also offer different bahn mi items. Very affordable IMO. Unless you wanna drive all the way down to Tully Rd. but if you’re in the area, I would get it from here.

I only come here for the banh mi trung(egg sandwich). Cheap, delicious, and always satisfying… with sriracha! Because everything tastes better with it. =) Tried the Mi Quang and it was ok. Although I might add, they aren’t cheap with the meat for all you meatlovers.

This place was our on the fly spot to eat. This is the first time we actually sat over here at this location instead of Beef Noodle. We sometimes eat at Beef Noodle and we would order something from here and they would have to bring it over. This time we ate here but my bf still got Phở and we had to wait for them to bring it over and we thought his soup would be cold but no it wasn’t. They actually brought his broth inside a thermos so when they served him his food, it was like they brought it out from the kitchen. The place was pretty empty, well we did come 15 minutes before closing and they were nice about it.

I’ve been coming here a lot as of lately. I need my bun bo hue fix and this place is conveniently located for me because it’s on my way home. i’ve gotten my mom fixated on the bun bo hue too. As of now, my mouth is watering just thinking about it and i just had dinner a few hours ago. The soup is really good and they give you a great portion for the price of $ 8. Its perfection when you put a spoonful of their chili in the soup. Mouth watering delicious! They also have really good Vietnamese sandwiches. I’ve also tried their bun rieu and thats good too. The rice plates are okay but not the best. Obviously, their name says it all. Get the Bun Bo Hue.

This used to be my favorite spot for bun bo hue a few years back… so much so I came at least once a week and usually by myself. I preferred this place over Bun Bo Hue An Nam because it tasted homemade and was consistent. There was even a time period that I would frequent this restaurant with my bestie and my friends knew that this was my favorite restaurant because of that. It’s gone downhill in my opinion. Since this is dually owned with Beef Noodle #1, the bbh here is not the same anymore. It seems like phở broth being fixed up in an attempt to be like bbh… typically doing not so well. I felt bad once when a friend really wanted bbh and I had recommended this place… almost embarrassing! I mean this is like my most favorite food. Their saving grace now I guess would be the rice plates. They’re pretty good… but I miss the old bbh they used to serve. I guess it’s just new cooks and everything. That sucks for me.

I’ve been here a couple times with the family but went back here yesterday when my friend and I discovered that Phở Y #1 was closed. I appreciate that this place has Phở, Sandwiches and Rice Plates all together at a great quality. They also have an assortment of drinks as well. Service is friendly, which is always appreciated :). Our host was really good about getting our food there on time. He was a bit hesitant on splitting the check though, so I guess think about that before you order. I love the quality of their Phở here. I usually order the #3 and the meat I get is always tender and doesn’t have a lot of the connective tissue which I’m not all that into. If you aren’t a big fat or tendon person, the #3 is a good choice. The price is OK for a Phở place, I have seen places that are cheaper, but this place is clean and if you order a large it’s huge. When I’m here with the family we usually grab a sandwich to go for later. Overall, one of the better places in San Jose to have some Phở, which is saying a lot!

Best Vietnamese Coffee I have had period. most places it is either too sweet or they overkill the espresso. here it was a smooth but still had the caffeine kick which lasted waayyyyyy longer than a shot of Five Hour Energy. SUPERCHEAPEATS. I split a #47(egg roll, pork, shrimp and noodles) with a friend and it was enough for both of us. The shrimp perfectly carmelized and the pork was gooooooooood. 2 vietnamese coffees and 1 noodle dish. under fifteen bucks. LOVEIT. Next time I am trying their sammiches… for 2.75 yes please!

I came here for Betty N.‘s UYE yesterday. I thought the size of the place was perfect for the event because there were plenty of tables and chairs. We took up like half of the restaurant. I ordered #27 which was steam rice, bbq pork, and julienne pork for $ 5.75($ 6.28 with tax). I didn’t pay attention as to how long until my food came out but it wasn’t too long. In my opinion, the portion I got was worth the money I paid. I asked Peter L. what the proper way of eating a dish like the one I ordered. He told me to mix the fish sauce with the rice and julienne pork. I pretty much winged it/copied him(he ordered the same thing) from there and mixed everything. It was pretty good to me but I can’t compare it really since I don’t eat it often enough to know. I also took pictures of Vicky T.‘s(or was it Julie K.‘s) and Bobby L’s food but I don’t know what number they ordered. Anyways, the other things on the menu sound good and inexpensive. I’ll have to try other things like their sandwiches or other rice plates later.
