Had a terrible experience here. Was looking up a place on Unilocal to try out and we came across this place with high hopes. The service was terrible the order took a very long time and the food was just okay. Not to mention the order came out wrong.

Such a cute hidden gem. I found this place on Unilocal and it was the closest italian location to my new home, so I decided to give it a go and I’m so happy I did. I ordered the fettuccine with chicken parmesan, and it was delicious! I am very picky with my pasta but this one was yummy. The service is very friendly. I will be returning soon!

The restaurant had a really interesting and impressive menu given the casual atmosphere. But for such a menu, I would much prefer to sit down and be able to peruse the menu rather than feeling rushed ordering at the counter. The food was OK. My husband had the scallop dish which was served with several, large scallops and I had the short ribs. My dish was tasty but lukewarm. Our friends liked their dishes coq au vin and a turkey dish(can’t remember the name). The side of green beans were over-cooked to my liking. I was really looking forward to the bread everybody talked about but we received 4 small pieces for 4 of us, and they were all dried-out end pieces. It is a self-service restaurant but the tables are crowded and I was positioned in a place where there was not enough room to squeeze behind my chair and the seat behind me. The people who work there are very nice.

This is a great neighborhood spot for baked goods and a good meal. I came here when it first opened in 2010 and I am glad to see that it continued to thrive. My family continues to visit this shop over the last few years and it continues to provide solid food and changes its menu with daily special and seasonal fares. I also really enjoy how this restaurant pays attention to the sides. My mom raved about its beets sides several times. Last time I came here it was with family on an afternoon. I had the diver scallops served with potatoes and with a choice of sides. I picked brussel sprouts and it’s amazing how good brussels sprouts can taste when cooked properly. The divers scallops were fresh and the mashed potatoes were warm. My cousin ordered a medium burger with sweet potatoes which she generally enjoyed. I also enjoyed picking fries off her plate.(Sharing is caring! And fries always taste better shared.) We also shared calamari fritti were were nicely fried. The restaurant had one other patron when we were there. And the space was quiet, friendly, and well-maintained despite not having a large wait staff. It was a shame that they were almost sold out of baked goods when we came. The restaurant was getting ready to break and close until the new year. I would love for some pastries when I visit again.

My best friend showed me this amazing, quaint restaurant, and I will be forever thankful! The price of everything on their menu is affordable especially for their great quality of food. Food: First off, the proportions are so generous. The complementary bread basket is wonderful(love the orange curd/jam). But, my favorite items are the bistro burger and the fettuccine alfredo. The food is extremely well executed. The fries that come with the burger are(in my opinion) the best fries EVER and the garlic aioli that comes with it is TODIEFOR. I love how the pasta is unique because it’s freshly made and the garlic bread is also AMAZING. Keep it up with your dishes! Service: They always provide the best service! The workers are always gracious, helpful, and kind– nothing more to ask for. Ambiance: It’s a quiet place with nice decorations. I love how there’s games available to play with! This is a must go-to site for me every time I’m in the area. Don’t miss out!

Wow! I don’t know why it took us so long to try Bistro Tupaz out! Went tonight & everything was delicious. The bread basket was delicious for starters. Hubby had the flat iron steak & risotto & I has the beef stroganoff. Both were really good. Also, our waiter Angel was so nice & helpful. We will definitely be back!

First off, I know some people who don’t like to tip but this place does not accept tips when you use credit or debit. We were bummed we couldn’t tip them since we used card and didn’t have cash on hand. Service was excellent. They gave us recommendations and let us know in advance what they ran out of on the menu. The guy at the cash register was very sweet and the staff would come by our table to ask how the food is tasting or if we need refills. The food was very good also. Sweet potato fries with the garlic aioli was very yummy and the garlic bread was very crispy.

Good food but odd place. Half the menu seems to be specials of the day. You order at the register but the food is definitely wait service quality. The price is very reasonable for the quality, but most people probably don’t expect the food to live up to the price given the location(across from Santa Teresa High School) and the order at the register format. If you’re looking for something different, and who isn’t in Blossom Hill, give Bistro Tupaz a shot.

This restaurant is right by my house and is my go to for good meal. Let me just hit a couple bullet points. The food is amazing everything is fresh and made to perfection. This is the type of place I would take someone to who loves good food and one so relaxing calm place. They have amazing proportions and really good deals for the amount of food they give you as well as the quality of the food that they serve. I think the chef closes the restaurant for couple days when he goes to Europe to get any recipes just for the restaurant. That’s crazy! The ambiance is really kick back and chill. The servers there are so helpful and very respectful and and surprisingly very knowledgeable about good quality food. They will not hesitate to tell you what is good. This place closes every Monday and Sunday to prepare and clean the place. Small restaurants who make good food and keep the place clean is very hard to find nowadays. I love coming here for special events and specially my birthday’s. Even my friends have brought their friends and significant others to this restaurant.

Had this place bookmarked and finally made it. We had the steak and risotto, and rockfish and mash potatoes. Both were tasty and we happened to eat on free wine Tuesdays. Our server was great and paired the wines with our meals for us because we are wine novices. They also had complimentary foccacio bread and teas for us. The service was fabulous, ambiance was that of a european café and the food was delicious. We could not have asked for more on a Tuesday night dinner. We are definitely eating here again.

Really have to thank my Unilocal Elite cousins for introducing me to their neighborhood gem! We ordered French onion soup($ 5), calamari fritti($ 7), medium burger with sweet potato fries($ 7.5) and, off the specials board, diver scallops served on whipped potatoes with choice of side($ 22 — we went with brussel sprouts). The technique and ingredients shine here. The calamari is fried perfectly, so that it’s light and not greasy. The brioche bun and quality of the hand-formed patty were excellent, and I haven’t had better sweet potato fries anywhere. Scallops(extremely difficult to execute well) nicely seared, tender and not rubbery. Service is gracious and warm. Wish every neighborhood, especially mine, could have such an excellent and affordable restaurant so that everyone could eat this well all the time.

Awesome place. A mix of everything. Went grocery shopping to the store nearby and ended up at Tupaz because I saw the ad of ‘arros negre’(Catalan black rice with calamari ink) and I thought it might be a Catalan restaurant. They are not, but the Filipino owner is in love with Mediterranean cuisine and tries to get a little bit of every corner. Nice touch of providing a very delicious cappuccino for just checking in with Unilocal. Both my boyfriend and I did and we got our deliciousness caffeine dose combined with a coffee pastry. I liked the place, very versatile, you can go and play chess, table games, sit at the patio and enjoy the smell of rosemary or be behind the arches in a somewhat separated area. Very good customer service. Will come back for that black rice!

I came here with a friend for a quick and light lunch, but we ended up eating a day’s worth of calories at a very long lunch. SOGOOD. At first I drove right past it because it’s in the middle of this plaza. But there’s plenty of parking on a Saturday, so no worries there. If you check in on Unilocal, you get a free cappuccino or latte! I think that along with the free tea and free bread basket would have been enough for a mid-afternoon chat with a friend. We ordered the Afternoon Tea set. It’s a three-tier tower of sweets. Definitely way too much for two people(not that I’m complaining at all). The cookies were soft, the cakes were moist, and the other pastries were just fantastic. They pair perfectly with coffee or tea. If you’re craving something savory like we were, I recommend the Goulash. We ordered that with a side of Vegetables a la Grecque. It’s also a big enough portion for two people to share. I’ve never had Goulash before, so I can’t compare it to anything, but I thought it satisfied our cravings perfectly. Service was amazing as well. They were very attentive, even though we chose to sit at a table way in the back. They constantly came to check on us, refill our hot water for tea, etc. Total bill was roughly $ 30, and we had so many leftovers to take home. Definitely worth the drive down to San Jose, definitely worth spending an entire afternoon eating and talking. If you’re into playing games, they have a bunch of those for you to check out. I can see myself coming here again for sure!

What a find! Super cute Euro-style café/bistro, with a HUGE menu. Right when you walk in, there are dozens of pastries on display in a glass case. ALL delicious looking and extremely tempting. You can look at their paper menu or their wall menu, where there are many specials posted. It took us a while to decide, and they were so gracious and patient with us. I finally decided on the Chicken Parmesan Burger that came with some really scrumptious fries. The burger itself was actual REAL chicken breast that was lightly sprinkled with breadcrumbs and pan fried(?) with some parmesan. Tasty and must I say, JUICY! Nomz. It takes skill to cook chicken perfectly like that, I should know. ;) Hubby had a burger with double meat(two huge patties) and fried onion strings. They asked how he wanted his meat cooked(medium rare) which they delivered on point. He enjoyed his meal as well. I must also mention that you get a complimentary bread basket with jam, which I think must change with the seasons, since I didn’t get what some other Unilocalers got. We got blood orange curd, which was yummy. Also, if you check in, you get a free latte! =)

My wife and I had wanted to visit Bistro Tupaz for a few years, and finally had an opportunity to do so yesterday evening. The complementary bread was excellent, as was the service. For those who have not yet visited this restaurant, the ordering style is not with waiters at your table, and instead you place your order at the register, and everything is brought to the table as it becomes ready. This works for us. I ordered the riblets, which I enjoyed, but plan to try their burger next time. Two of our kids ordered the steak, which they also enjoyed. For those who prefer to bring their own wine, the corkage fee is only $ 10.

WOW! Delicious food from the bread basket while you wait for your meal to a free glass of white or red wine Tuesdays, what a pleasant surprise! My first time here and ordered the Moussaka Special with a side of polenta. The flavors were spot on with the salt and seasoning. Moussaka was more of an individual tiered layer of eggplant rather than a slice from a casserole, meat ragu, fontina cheese and bechemel. Very tasty take on traditional Mousaka. Greek side salad had a delicious buttery briney melt– in –your– mouth feta and the right amount of vinegrette. A nice accompanyment to the heavier but flavorful side of polenta. Also the blood orange curd with the various selection of mini breads(especially the squares of banana bread) were to die for! A casual place for a phenomenol meal and great service, you won’t want to miss it! I definitely will be back! Yummmmmm Note: if paying with credit cards, they only accept cash tips

This is a solid place. I’ve been here countless times with my coworkers and each time we’ve gone, I’ve loved this place even more. My go-to dish is the Chicken Formaggio Burger. The burger has a Parmesan encrusted chicken breast with arugula, aioli, and prosciutto all on a potato bun. This also comes with side of regular fries, ketchup, and aioli for dipping sauces. They always give their house bread with some type of jam/preserve. All of their food has been exceptional tasting and it’s no surprise their customer service follows suit. The only time I remember being disappointed was when they swapped their potato bun with their house bread on the burger which made it too heavy and unbearable to eat. Since that short period of time, my beloved potato bun has returned on my all-time favorite Chicken Formaggio Burger. They have a great deal that makes eating here even sweeter.

Haven’t been here for awhile but my most recent visit left me wondering why I waited so long! Had the squid ink paella — AMAZING. My husband kept trying to switch entrees with me and I had to keep fending him off with my fork! Their bread and curds/jams continue to be amazing. I’ve tried the macarons again and this time was much better than the last time I had them. They don’t crumble anymore and not overly sweet. Pretty flavorful. Will be coming back! Hopefully the paella is still there~!

I have been coming here, literally, for years and am baffled as to why I haven’t written a review for this place! First off, the service is impeccable here. We’ve always been greeted warmly, received our food promptly, and left happy! Richie(Ricardo) is very knowledgeable and attentive. Every time we come here and see him, it feels like home. My favorite dish is the chicken formaggio. Since I’m not a big fan of Alfredo sauce, they’re very good at accommodating and switch it to marinara. The chicken is always moist… yummy! One time, my boyfriend and I happened to sit at a table diagonally across from the owner’s parents. We didn’t realize who they were, until my social butterfly boyfriend struck up a random conversation! They were lovely people, and asked for honest, genuine feedback about the restaurant. They emphasized that their son, Deo, is constantly making changes to enhance the quality of the food being served. Before we left, they surprised us with an order of tiramisu, on the house! It was the 1st time we had tried it. It was nothing short of amazing :) More things I love about this place: + infused water: self serve, cold, refreshing + a rewards program — money spent = points! They have you sign up with an email + they have a seasonal menu & daily specials + delicious desserts made daily + spreads, among many other things, are made in-house + on the left side of the restaurant, they have games you can borrow to play at your table(dominoes, chess, etc.) The only thing I would suggest: — bring back the bread basket that had a wider assortment of breads! The selection was to die for! :( We try to come here at least once a month, minimum. I’ve recommended this place to a lot of family & friends. As other Unilocalers have mentioned, it is truly a hidden gem!
