Follow up is less than appreciated. When we changed to cooler weather the heater wouldn’t turn off unless we forced it to start the A/​C. The thermostat was finally replaced after emails and several calls to office and cell. The replacement thermostat and, «I find it hard to believe that you would get two defective thermostats». I replaced it myself from Home Depot for $ 100. Works fine.

At first the owner comes across as professional but that quickly turns. Does not want to admit if he has made a mistake. Heard both good and bad reviews from this company and I would rather choose someone else, who is willing to put in good quality work. Would not recommend.

I had trouble with the A/​C unit in my chiropractic office, of course during a really hot spell (amazing how that happens!). I called a friend who is a property manager and he recommended Fernando. I called Fernando at approx. 4pm on a Monday and he was here Tuesday morning for the repair.
There was absolutely NO up-​sell. He could have told me any number of expensive items needed to be repaired/​replaced. Instead it was one part of the circuit board. The repair was made and we have been cool ever since.

I highly recommend this family owned business! Prior to a complete backyard remodel they relocated our AC unit. Helping us to find a quiet, efficient unit that met the city’s sound requirements. The same unit was «unavailable» to the 2 other companies that bid the work. Once the relocation began it became clear that they were having to do unexpected work to complete the job as defined in the bid. when i inquired about the extra work and cost, Fernando politely told me that no additional fees would be added to the bid. They were on schedule, efficient, honest!

Azores Heating and Air Conditioning Company isn’t the one to pick if you expect good, professional grade service with competent staff doing the work.
What a waste of money using them. Hope this review helps others stay away.
Fernando (owner) comes across knowledgeable during initial meeting but it goes downhill fast. Company worked on our 2 story home in San Jose CA (Almaden) to correct upstairs cooling problem. I had a strange feeling when he didn’t want to sign a contract for work — Shame on me for not running then! During the job he admitted his company had no experience working on high vaulted 2 story ceiling homes like ours.
Rather than making repairs in accordance with standard industry practices they went the cheap route modifying our existing equipment with custom solutions that don’t work and were categorized by other professionals as «Mickey Mouse» fix. Example: modifying the filter return box (where air goes in) by creating a small custom made filter that can’t be bought anywhere installed behind the large filter by grill, instead of changing the return lines so one filter could be used.
We will be looking into Small Claims Court against Azores Heating and Air Conditioning to recover some of the money lost by this contractor!
Don’t make our mistake!

We had ac/​heater put in in the 2006 timeframe, having checked out alot of bids. He was the best bid and did great work. Great guy, fair prices-​does NOT up-​sell. Even told us our electrical was fine for the add of a/​c when other contractors had told us we needed a whole new panel. Highly recommend.
