There are 2 things that comes to my mind when it comes to Antipasto’s: 1. Pasta, duh. 2. Pliny the Elder. Antipasto’s, a mom & pop shop that has been around for years. If you’re a pasta lover, this little family eli is a must-try. Their basil tomato cream ravioli is clutch. What makes it even better is if you’re lucky, they sometimes have Pliny the Elder on tap or bottles if they received a shipment from Russian Brewery. Notes: — Closed on Sundays & Mondays.

The family run deli is a friendly spot to grab a bite to eat. While you do not experience a family feel to many companies around the bay region, this is one that supplies you with that AND extremely great food. I normally get a sandwich here because you are able to mix and match never-ending mixes based on what your taste buds are telling you that instant.

3.5 stars. Cute and home-y deli. looks like it’s family run with a sweet grandma handling the cash register! I’ve been here a few times and there’s always a line at the hot foods section, but it moves pretty quickly. Gives newbies a chance to figure out what they want because once you reach the person who takes your order, you may feel a little rushed.(As I did. lol) There are no menus posted on the walls, only little signs/placards right where you place your order. It makes it a little hard to figure out what you want because you can’t see what they offer until you’re at the front of the line. I spend most of my time in line weaving side to side behind other customers trying to read the signs… sometimes they offer different things. You can also build your own sandwich. There’s a little blue slip of paper for you to fill out with different choices of bread, meat, cheese and condiments. So far I’ve tried. Plate of Meat Raviolis with marinara $ 8.99 –with salad $ 10.99 Plate of Meat raviolis with cream sauce $ 9.99 –with salad $ 11.99 BBQ Tri Tip Sandwich –yum! They didn’t offer this today. :(.hope it comes back soon. Meatball Sandwich $ 9.99 –yum! Comes with 4 meatballs, red sauce and cheese on a sourdough roll. Italian Sausage Sandwich $ 9.99 –comes with red sauce, peppers and onions on a sourdough roll. This place is a little out of the way for me. The raviolis are okay, they’re soft and pillowy but don’t have too much flavor. I like Bertucellis raviolis in Willow Glen a lot more. The salads are okay, nothing special. not worth the few extra bucks, imo. I’d come here once in a while if I crave a meatball sandwich or the tri tip. But since they’re not selling tri-tip.I don’t know if I’ll be back any time soon. :(

I’ve only been to a few Italian ‘markets’ in my life, but I know Italian food, and I know good, quality Italian food. This place is really good. When you come in, they have a selection of wine immediately before you. Continue walking forward and you can order from the deli, or buy individual items they’re selling, like drinks, meats, cheeses, pastas, and breads. To the right is where they sell the majority of their other entrees, like their pasta plates and meatball subs. My boyfriend and I decided to try out essentially what we ordered at the last Italian market we’d been to so we could compare them. While I didn’t like the pasta/sauce as much as I did when I went to the other place. It was still really delicious though, and based on my experience there and the quality of the food, I definitely see myself returning. My boyfriend had a slightly different experience. He thought the meatball sandwich here was leaps and bounds better than the last one he tried(and I have to agree because I tried it myself). He absolutely loved the sandwich and is still full from it as I write this review, now nearly seven hours later. The employees here are all very kind, and the older woman who was at the register was sweet. Looking forward to returning!

Antipasto’s is a great deli/restaurant I drive by every day. The food is top notch, whether it is a sandwich with a generous heap of freshly slice corned beef, lasagna dinner with a simple salad, or a full steak dinner, the food is always tasty. They say their raviolis are the best, and while they’re really good with the tomato basil cream sauce, they aren’t even he best thing in the menu. The meatballs are the star. Moist and light on the inside, crispy I the outside, and topped with delicious marinara. The meatballs are amazing, in a sandwich, on some pasta, or on their own. The owners are always friendly and even though the wait is usually long, it’s worth it. I just wish they were open later. TL/DR: delicious Italian and big sandwiches. Get the meatballs.

Been here twice and both times loved the sandwiches i had. The first time I was here I order the tri tip sandwich the meat is cooked so perfect and the bread is so fresh. On my next trip here I order the meatball sandwich it was also good, it has this cheese and marinara sauce in the sandwich on fresh bread I really love the bread they use for their sandwiches. There is lots of stuff I want to try here I’m just getting started on this place, there will be many more trips here. You can buy a steak and have it cooked here don’t know what the extra cost is. I also know they have wine and beer here so I nice steak and wine dinner I see in my future. Everyone that works here are really nice and friendly and helpful seems like they have a lot of repeat customers cause I see them greeting people by name when they come in. I will be back many times.

This wins for my most bizarre dining experience of 2016. You gotta learn how this place works or it is pretty confusing. I figured it out by chatting up all the people in line around me. (side note #1 — really just TRUST your GPS directions here. The blocks are numbered funny and go up and down indiscriminately — making no sense what so ever, we pulled 3 u-turns trying to find it. This place is really a butcher shop 1st and 2nd a restaurant, know that going in. The butcher display is full of all kinds of meats, BUT only 4 of them can you have them grill for you as a meal(for $ 5 charge): New York Steak, Filet Mignon, T-Bone, Bone in Rib Eye. If you want meat from the counter as your meal. Then you go to the counter and pick it out and tell them how you want it cooked(and order your wine for the long wait in line). They will bring your meat to the cooking station. You stay in line and drink your wine — send your partner to snag a table to wait it out! Making friends in line is key, you are going to be there for a while, and the people in THIS line are pretty serious about food. I got some good tips of other places they like to go. Once you finally make it to the deli part of the counter you can order other things, like the meatball sandwich or raviolis, or salad or whatever and tell them your name to get your meat from the grill. — Side story #2 — I wish I had filmed the way they make the meatball sandwich(which I did not order — but now really, REALLY want) they guy(one of the sons) takes out one meatball at a time and smashes it with a spatula, and repeats until he has four of them all lined up, then he pops them on a roll and sauces and cheeses them. YUM! The(mom) owner is at the register and she rings you up based on what you told her you ordered(don’t forget that 2nd glass of wine you ran back and gave to your husband!). I did not know what to order to supplement my ribeye and to get the full experience of this place. There are lots of people behind the counter, there is one person obviously in charge of the mayhem(a son of the owner). I asked if I should get the meatball sub or the raviolis with the steak to split with my husband, he choose raviolis with a tomato cream sauce. I also got my man a salad and a piece of the(new offering) pistachio cheesecake(ok the cheesecake was for me!!). My only complaint would be that it was a pretty small piece of cheesecake and not super appetizing wrapped on a paper place in cellophane. I was probably in line for 25 — 30 mins all in. But let me tell you the Ribeye was PERFECTLY cooked and it had a really nice and salty rub on it. Loved it, and I make a mean ribeye on the grill myself. The raviolis were also good, but meat is the star here. DYING to go back for the meatball sub, or if I am ever in san Jose on a Thursday the prime rib special(I’m sure it makes House of Prime Rib look even lamer than they already are!) Our bill was about $ 66, so not bad. Steak, salad, raviolis, cheesecake and 2 glasses of red wine.

After trying out Italian Homemade company in SF, I was sure I would never find a pasta equivalent in San Jose. Turns out, I did! While I hold Italian Homemade in very high regard, I felt like Antipasto’s was a good alternative to Bertucelli’s in Willow Glen, especially since its way more wallet friendly and less cramped. Tips: Parking can be VERY hard during the lunch hour. You can drive onto Kirk st and find residential parking. Trust me, that walk will be a god send after filling up here –Deli items are ordered in the deli section. They do not have a menu of sandwich combinations so I highly recommend scrolling through Unilocal pics to see what others have made –Hot Items are ordered at the register on the far right corner. Hot items will be served to you. The employees are all mind readers so they know whose order is whose so you don’t have to worry about picking your food up from the counter when its ready. I am in LOVE with their creamy tomato basil sauce aka TBS as displayed in their shop. I had tortellini and TBS. The tortellini weren’t anything special but the TBS gave them life! My partner ordered a steak sandwich. He didn’t feel like it was anything special but agreed that their specialty may be in their hot foods. They also serve wine and have a LARGE drink selection. The service was definitely homey. I hate to admit it but I was too caught up on my pasta to really care about anything else. Antipasto’s will definitely be added into my dinner rotation.

My go to pasta, salad, fish, steak, cheese and wine you name it place to grab goodies! They have a cute little bench out in the front patio right before you walk in if you want to enjoy your meal outdoors! My favorite dish I always get here is their home made ravioli! Staff: I love all the staff here they’re super friendly and knowledgeable about what they offer! Deli: They have a wide range of cheese on their shelves. Lots of assortment of sandwiches for them to make. They also have beers on tap and in their freezer area where they keep all the drinks. Dinning Area: As you can order your food and grab a table in the back of the restaurant!

Pretty small, but full of family vibe & great food that I would love to eat everyday! It is very local– local– and LOCAL. Hehe I love all their Sandwiches. I only tried two kinds once my bf took me, to show around his neighborhood and once I tried their sandwiches I was stunned by their gourmet styled spread and the combination of meat and veggies they put together. Mmmm’m I heard their Pastas are good too!

I’ve been coming here for as long as I remember… which is probably just 4 years, but what a very convincing 4 years to keep coming back and checking into this family est. Parking here is tight and the stingy liquor store next door doesn’t help a bit. But when you do find yourself a spot, prepare to get stuffed. Homemade pastas, soups, grilled delicameats, you name it, they have it. This is the only place I voluntarily order the side salad: comes with bacon bits and the other two parts of the BLT and your choice of dressing. Like the pastas, also includes dinner roll and prepackaged butter to boot… but the real reason people come here is for the sandwiches, The Meatball more or less. Frankly, the Steak sandwich is my favorite here bc it’s cooked to order, but first-timers should gun for the meatball sandwich to gauge the taste of the Italian spread here. I’m not big of a beer drinker either but Pliny on tap is a must with your meal. One of the better(and rare) family-owned businesses to frequent on the East Side.

I’ve been coming to antipastos for almost three years now. It has been my go-to whenever I’m craving home made ravioli. It’s settled in a small lot, with free parking in the front. Over the few years I’ve been coming here I have noticed their popularity growing and growing, this makes finding parking a little difficult especially during peak lunch hours.(Take note that they do close early) it’s family owned and that definitely adds to the charm. I especially love when the mom is working the cashier, bless her sweet soul. She is the absolute sweetest person! What I usually order is the beef ravioli with tomato basil cream sauce. The prices increased a little since I first indulged in these addictive pillows of heaven but last I checked it was $ 9.95 for a plate and some bread with butter. Not bad! Given the great quality and perfect portions. Even the bread is great! I also like to order the steak sandwich whenever I come with the boyfriend. It’s so satisfying and everything is made fresh! If you’re in the area I suggest for you to come and try this little family owned deli out. It will not disappoint!

You must go to Antipasto’s. You will thank me, much as I thanked the owners before leaving after my first visit for such an amazing experience last month. First off, the place is huge. It’s not your average whole in the wall, get some meat sliced and enjoy your sandwich kinda spot. Sure, they can certainly do that with the vast variety of cured meats and such, and do it well. But where I found they really shine is in their seating, booze(wine and craft beers), and hot dishes. Steak grilled & seasoned to order(AND perfection), ravioli that truly were superior to La Villa(sorry guys) with this fantastic tomato basil cream sauce, and a loaded salad… I was in heaven. Venture out. Stand in the line. Enjoy.

Authentic. That is the perfect word to describe this place. From the food to the service you can’t really beat it. Antipastos has a variety of things to try but I recommend these: 1. Ravioli. Filled with meat or filled with cheese. Smothered with tomato cream sauce. They look like little pillows I want to rest my head upon. I am starting to cry just writing this. That damn good son! 2. Meatball sandwich. The damn best. Fuck your Subway/Togos/Quiznos(who goes to Quiznos anymore really???) meatball sandwich. 3. Pliny the Elder beer in cute little mason jars. I’m squealing thinking about it. Love the staff here! They are nice and provide great service from helping you order to serving you food. It was approximately ~55 dollars for: a box of ravioli, one meatball sandwich, one steak sandwich, and two glasses of Pliny. I ain’t anti– Antipastos that’s for damn sure.

I have to give 5 stars here, not because it’s the best restaurant in the world, but because among other restaurants of this type: Independent ethnic deli /market /sandwich place, it is exceptional. As soon as you walk in, your nose tells you the place is legit. They have the authentic cheeses and meats and canned foods that together combine to say«Welcome home for some good food.» The meatball sandwich is perfect. On another trip, I tasted their ravioli, covered in their pink sauce. Ravioli doesn’t get fresher, puffier, or more delicious. The atmosphere is more«market» than«restaurant.» You can tell the people you’re sitting with love the place and have been going there for years. Antipasto’s is one of those rare businesses that is a landmark and that gives meaning to a neighborhood. So…go.

My family has been coming here for years(we live right down the street) and if there’s any restaurant on Unilocal that deserves 5-stars Antipasto’s is it! It is a charming delicatessen(stepping inside feels a bit like stepping back in time); you can purchase groceries to make at home or pick up a hot meal to eat on the spot(but good luck finding a table on a very busy night). My favorites are the sandwiches(duh) or a pasta plate with meat sauce. The meat sauce is great! If you go here try the meat sauce! Did I mention they make amazing meat sauce!!! I would drink it like a milk shake(if that was socially acceptable); instead I buy it by the pint and store it in my freezer… Because there is no greater tragedy in life than running out of Antipasto’s meat sauce. I think I’ve made my point :)

I’ve only gotten food to-go from here, and I haven’t been disappointed yet. Well, except when I first looked at the ravioli. LOL. It doesn’t look appetizing, but oh man, after your first bite, you won’t be able to stop! It’s one of those«taste better than it looks» situations. I’m obsessed over them! The ravioli is homemade and they just melt in your mouth! We’ve gotten it in two types of sauces, the meat and the tomato basil. It’s hard to say which one I like more. They also have a lot of tasty sides like tortellini, potato salad, mushrooms, pasta salad(I believe we got two types!). Out of the sides, I really liked the pasta salad, the tortellini was pretty good as well! TL;DR: Every time I crave ravioli, I’ll be wanting more from here!

Came by for a quick dinner the other night and it was an okay experience. Parking is challenging in the tiny parking lot and street parking may be available. Meatball sandwich was mediocre. The meatballs seemed like a hamburger patty. …the bread was okay. Ribeye from the dinner special was excellent. Perfectly marbled and perfectly cooked to medium rare! A/C was available inside but our table was right next to the window with the sun at full blast…

We’re lucky to have this place on the East Side. When some friends told us that you can eat there and they’ll even cook your steak we had to go check it out. So now we’ve been here for dinner several times and it’s time to share. The steak is about the best I’ve ever had, they cook it to perfection right in front of you. We both had a small filet and OMG it was so incredibly flavorful. The first time we went we went kind of nuts. We both had a steak, pasta, chowder and a salad. Needless to say we needed a doggie bag, but it sure made for a great lunch the next day. The pastas are cooked just right and the sauces are really good, not too sweet. They also have a variety of soda, juice, some good beers and wines. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a top notch Italian deli. As a regular delicatessen it has all the meats, cheeses and other goodies you’d expect. Their meats and cheeses are incredible. They also serve hot meals that you can eat there or take home. Great pastas, lasagna, ravioli and a whole lot more.
