I hail from the great city of Chicago — and upon arriving to California, I thought people would be much nicer, and cheerful with all this damn sun you guys have. I needed to make a duplicate key and came here after my wonderful experience at W&K Automotive in Santa Clara. I come to the door and try to push it, but there’s a hoard of boxes inside that make it impossible to push the door open. So I’m thinking okay maybe this place is closed or condemned because no working business should look like an episode of «HOARDERS». The owner is yelling at me, and I am trying to stick my little head in a 7 inch crack between the doorway, and I’m trying to hear what the hell he’s saying. It’s raining outside and the traffic on 1st street is loud. I hear him say«pull» and it’s like magic. The door opens. keyman: lady you have to use some intelligence, this isn’t a damn game. i’m not here to play games me, astonished: you think i’m here to play games with you? it’s loud outside i can’t hear what you’re saying, maybe you should clean this place and put«PULL» on the door Keyman continues to say that even if the boxes weren’t in the way, the door wouldn’t glide over the carpet. Really old man, you’re trying to argue with a 23 year old lady? He was basically trapped behind a counter, or actually, maybe he intentionally created a fort of 7 feet high boxes to separate himself from the rest of normal society. The tension was extremely high at this point, because he was itching for a fight and I sure as hell wasn’t going to leave. He then lectures me about doors. Big mistake — as I then introduced a bigger lecture on how the majority of businesses and residential areas have doors that push open, not pull. Seriously, I didn’t come here to school this guy on blueprints, but he had the effin nerve to insult me by saying I wasn’t smart enough to open a door. So by default, does that make me dumb enough to have visited this place? I bet he’d agree. I still got my duplicate key made for $ 2, all the while telling him that I didn’t come in to be berated, and that if he’s having a shitty day, he can shit on his own time, not mine. As I’m heading for the door, I ask him if he reads the online reviews, with a smile on my face. «I know you’re going to give me a bad review, so be it» And I say, «No, I’m going to say the pricing is great, but remember to pull the door *grin*» Keyman, «You should be smarter» Me,(pushing the door open), «I am smarter than you, but dumb enough to have visited»

I happen upon this place while walking back from breakfast and i said hey what the hell lets give them a try. I opened the door and immediately the place looks like a mess. Well that’s fine since I’m not eating here but the ensuing conversation just put me off. Me: are you able to cut a key if i provide you with the blank? i have a Subaru and i have the keys i want cut for it. Him: no. transponder. Me: transponder? Him:(in a condescending voice) transponder…(he looks at me beaming with knowledge and chuckling at me) Me: uh it’s an 02 and it doesn’t have a chip in the key. Him: i rather not. I just though it was disappointing, for a guy who gives of this illusion that he is skilled at cutting key, why is he unable to cut my key?

First of he was recommended to me, it was Sunday, my key had broke off in the trunk keyhole… I needed a key, made SO I called the number on the business card. While on the phone, he was very unprofessional, yelling at someone else that was with him… who turns out to be his 13 year old son. The minute he came up to my door he started making racial slurs about the person who referred me(who I happen to live with)… Then he realized I was related to the person that he had helped before so he assumed I was the same ethnicity and started making racial comments about these ‘mexican people’ he had helped. Anyway, long story short… the price he quoted was roughly 85 dollars, and when he came back with a new key, my broken key, and a second spare(which I had not asked for) then he proceeded to charge me 251. After speaking to him about the pricing, he offered to give me a dicount and the free spare for 195… I said no… and I said for him to return my original key… And he left with the broken key plus two spares… Today I went to Ford/Kia dealer ship and paid 22 dollars for a key to be made.
