Joes hookah zone café has been in SJ for quite awhile. I’ll start off by saying, I used to frequent this place often back around 2008. At the time it was pretty decent. Currently every time I have visited this hookah bar I’ve had an unfortunately poor experience. The service is mediocre. They bring your hookah out quickly and the charcoal attendent is usually pretty good, but the attitude of one of the ladies who used to be here was horrendous. The last time I came here, I stopped by with a few friends. We were debating on which hookah we wanted and in less than 5 min. She walked up to us and yelled and told us if we didn’t buy a hookah we needed to leave. Not a good way to treat your customers. Up until this day. we visited this hookah bar 3−4x a week. I have since then taken my money elsewhere. I will not be treated like a freeloader and rushed to order by some lady with a temper tantrum. If she is so rude and impatient, then I will just not give her my business ATALL. The hookah bar is decorated odd and is not very comfortable as far as seating arrangements. The inside is super dark, you can’t even see where you are going. The worst décor/seating in any hookah bar I’ve ever been to(and I’ve been to MANY!!!) The outdoor seating is limited and kinda sucks, although more concur than inside. If you want nice comfy outdoor seating, Beaumont hookah lounge about 10 minutes away has a bad Ass set up. Awesome couches and tables and nice heaters for when its cold. The hookahs are whatever. I can definitely prep a better one at my house. Seems like they use cheap tobacco and not the high grade stuff like I’m used to. Their hoses are plastic and cheap. The bowls burn out in less than an hr. They charge too much. for what they have to offer. Sorry Hookah Zone, I’d love to say something more positive, but my past experiences here have all been negative :(
