The San Geronimo Golf Course was the perfect setting for our daughter’s wedding ceremony and reception. The setting in the green valley surrounded by mountains and trees was lovely. The menu pleased the guests. Jennifer, the wedding coordinator, is a pro. Thanks for the memorable event!

Not only a challenging golf course but an excellent place to eat. I think the french fries are the best in Marin County and the Korean Tacos are outstanding. Burgers are great. Cobb salad is killer and anything you order is going to be good. Not too many restos can boast that. Plus they serve an all you can eat buffet on friday evenings for $ 12 that is not only a really good deal but the food is always good and it is a different ethnic theme every time, and features live music. Kitchen closes at 3pm except for the friday buffet.

Not the course, the club house. It was written up in the Marin IJ as a great, outdoor barbeque place. Got there, got drinks(excellent, lots of alcohol) in plastic cups and told we had to go to the barbeque outside to order. Went out and met the chef, who had a pile of cooked dogs on his ‘que, one hamburger starting. «You can sit at the table up there,» he said, «If you want to wait, but you’ll have to order inside!» Inside we went, to the uncleared off or wiped table we had just left. My friend, who had taken me there for my birthday, approached the bar. «You can’t order the specials here,» said the bartender, obviously put out,” You have to order the specials outside.” She explained our dilemma. being an attorney, she used a great deal of tact. Half an hour and several(excel lent, plastic glass) drinks later, our food was served. At least some of it. Just in time for the local tourney golfers to come in and express their, um, distress that their favourite table was taken. Had they only asked, they could have had the fucking thing. But no, so we sat in isolated splendor, watching football, and eating some truely superb cajun shrimp, salad and the special, hamburgers, each cooked to order perfectly, sauted onions and mushrooms and blue cheese, with fires to die for, all served, albeit slowly, by a charming waitress whose husband brought in her even more charming baby. A little disconcerted that he took it into the kitchen, for any number of reasons… Another two and half hour lunch. But t least before that we had test ridden a new triumph America, so the day trip wasn’t wasted. But the ambience? Hire a real bartender who has been kept informed that there was just pleasant article on his bar in the local paper so he should expect some new faces… and to at least pretend he was happy to see them.
