I come here to grab breakfast for my coworkers. Its the only place that is open at 7am that have amazing breakfast. When i go i am usually shock at what to get my coworkers but the owner is very helpful. I always get the rice roll, green onion pie with egg, fried dumplings and you get forget their SOYMILK. These are great breakfast items to share with friends and family. Come here for great breakfast!!!

Yung Ho holds a special place in my heart, as I’ve been coming here ever since I was a little girl. With nothing but fond memories, I still believe to this day, that this is one of the best restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley serving Taiwanese breakfast. From soy milk to rice milk, egg pancakes to Chinese donuts to fan tuan, from noodle soups to rice dishes, they have something for everyone. The restaurant is always busy so either come early in the morning or later in the afternoon.

I love the spicy wonton! It is the best! Ever! However, the missing one star is for the terrible services.

I’m a huge breakfast fan and this was the first time for me to try Chinese style breakfast rally enjoyed so much! I tried the soybean milk and beef roll and also the pork and mushroom steamed bun. They were all good I think my favorite was the soybean milk if you add some sugar it tastes pretty good! One thing I didn’t like was the waitress we had she just had a stinky attitude like she didn’t want to be working. The lady at the counter looked like the manager or owner she seemed very kind!

2 stars for the cold noodles. There wasn’t enough Q! The texture and flavor was off. Otherwise the beef noodle soup was decent. 4 stars for beef noodle soup. All in all this is your typical grimey hole in the wall, minimal English type of Taiwanese restaurant. I’d have to do a through exploration for whas gooood and what’s not. Otherwise for sure expect everything to be hit or miss.

I love this place for breakfast as they opened early. Whenever I visit LA, I will visit this place. We always ordered the salty tofu bowl, soy bean bowl, assortments of «baos», noodles, porridge, etc. They come quick and you can order to go as well. Good location with parking.

Horrible service, very slow and very unprofessional. They don’t allow us to take the toast to go either, saying it’s the store policy. The most ridiculous store policy I ever heard. So overall, a very bad and disappointing experience, never coming back here again.

Reminiscent of Yong He Do Jiang in Taiwan. The prices are a bit steep when comparing it to what you pay in Taiwan, but it definitely hits a sweet note in my taste buds. My family ordered everything from salty soy milk, beef rolls, onion pancakes, you tiao, dumplings, and other Taiwanese staples. Would recommend if you need to get your Taiwanese breakfast fix.

This is our standard place to grab Asian breakfast! They offer an entire menu-full of breakfast options, along with other café food like dumplings and bao. Enormous youtiao, delicious sweet soy milk, and good pork and 1000 years egg porridge are what keep me coming! Some stuff can be a bit bland, like the scallion pancakes, but I like this place for the sheer variety of food choices, along with the standard low prices you typically get at cash-only places in SGV. The space is big enough that there’s usually seats available on weekend mornings. So if you’re craving Asian breakfast, definitely check this place out, if only to establish a baseline opinion for places in the SGV!

Breakfast. Parking: Plenty of parking spaces in the plaza. There are outside parking and also inside underground parking spots. Food: People usually come for breakfast. They serve traditional Chinese breakfast pieces. This is not a Cantonese Dim Sum place. They serve food like soy milk, buns, and pancakes. I ordered an egg pancake and one salty soy milk. They tasted authentic. The food are low in calories and high in nutrition. Service: Not too good. I got ignored easily by the waitress. Also, they ask customers for tips… Overall: Traditional place for Chinese styled breakfast. Nothing too fancy.

Not as good as Huge Tree but this place is slightly better than 4 seas. Specifically this place is more clean and their english is better. Like 4 sears and Huge Tree, you can get your soy drink, fried dough, rice burrito, and all your chinese breakfast needs. Famous for: breakfast.

Twisted cruller and Northern Salted Soy Bean Tofu Milk(additional microwave heated) are just the best! Salted eggs are average though.

I have been here a few times, but now I remember why I don’t come here too often. The service here is not good at all; they are not friendly or welcoming. I guess that is typical Asian service for you, but a greeting or a smile won’t hurt would it? I walked in here knowing I was going to get take out and pulled a menu off one of the empty tables to look at. The waitress saw me as I walked in and didn’t acknowledge me at all. So I just ignored her and went about to see what I wanted to order. A few minutes go by and still there isn’t anyone there to help me. Finally a lady walked out to the register and says«to-go?» So I answered her and proceeded to order my food; of course I knew that they didn’t speak much English here that was one reason why I was hesitant to come back here. But pointing at the menu usually gets me what I want but it only got me the basics without the extra ingredients that I could’ve added. I ordered the salty rice roll, beef sandwich, and the pork and preserved egg porridge. The salty rice roll was actually pretty good, the beef in the beef sandwich was good but the sesame bread was a bit tough, the porridge could have been better. The food was okay but I’m not sure if I want to come back here with their lack of friendliness and the communication issues. And as I was waiting for my food the waitress pulled the menu from the table I was sitting at, just to put it at another empty table; my arm was sitting on it a little(maybe she didn’t see that) but I thought it was rude of her to do that, it’s not like she needed it right away. Although this location is convenient I don’t know if I want to come back here.

Finally came here to give a try since the photos posted on Unilocal look really yummy. I tried the sesame soy milk and it wasn’t sweet at all and barely could taste the sesame. Even though it has a lot of sesame inside but I don’t feel the taste. I also tried the salty soy milk, it was so so to me. The egg ham cake is pretty good. Overall the food was okay but the customer service was soso.

This place used to be so good for a Taiwanese breakfast and comfort food. However this last trip will probably be the last one for a while. We ordered three items, including the chinese donut and congi. The taiwanese donut was stale and mushy and cold, clearly old and not fresh. However, it’s the next experience thats appalling. They forgot our congi so after a long while of waiting and finishing the other dishes we ordered, and more waiting, i asked to cancel the order of congi. The waitress scrambles to the kitchen to cancel it and we hear the entire convo w the cook. The cook asked why the ticket wasn’t placed in the line. The waitress lets the cook know she put the ticket in the line. After some bickering where the entire restaurant can hear, The cook shouted in chinese: just bring it out anyway, I don’t want to cancel it. I’ll make it now. Bring the order out to them! The waitress follows the instructions and brings the congi out after we requested to cancel it. Normally we would have taken it possibly, but the obvious and flagrant effort to get us to pay for the extremely late order, shouting back and forth, it made me unwilling to take the congi they forgot to make. When she brought the congi out i told her that I asked to cancel it. She said it’s here, take it ! I refused. She brought it back to the kitchen and the cook came out to look at us to see who refused the congi as we asked for the check. How crazy is that?

Don’t expect any good service from this place! When me and my family walked in, there was no line and available seats but we ended up seating ourselves because no one acknowledged us. I guess you seat yourself? When we ordered our food we asked them for waters and the lady practically gave us eye rolls like we were an inconvenience to her. After waiting for awhile for water, we asked again and the original lady we ordered from yelled«yea its coming». After finishing our meal, we settled our bill. After receiving our change, they shorted us $ 10 and yet again gave us attitude. After the horrible service, why 2 stars? The food itself was OK. Don’t expect much from this place. These owners/waitress people seem to hate their job and working in general!

Yung Ho makes the best lo bo si bing. Hands down!!! I have tried lo bo si bing at a few other Taiwanese breakfast joints, but Yung Ho is my favorite! I also LOVE their sweet soy milk and salty soy milk. The Chow Nian Gao is aiitezzz… it’s not the typical brown kind but the white kind. A little different from the typical Shanghai Chow Nian Gao but still good nonetheless. Soft and chewy with some shiitake mushrooms. All in all, I wake up craving their lo bo si bing! Must get!

So this is authentic Taiwanese breakfast? Maybe the frou frou variety is better. In response to the increasingly popular Taiwanese cuisine, and unavailability of seats at Pine and Crane, decided to do a greasy-spoon real Taiwanese breakfast. To a newbie, actually pretty satisfying, but not life-altering. Soymilk/tofu soup with Taiwanese«donut» evoked a pulverized version of a BCD-type tofu soup. Soup was savory and satisfying; just wished that the donut were a bit lighter, and a bit less stale(showed up at 11:30am). Spicy beef noodle soup was par; probably better at DTF, which isn’t really known for its beef noodle soup. Sesame beef roll/sandwich was just okay; ended up soaking it in the beef noodle soup to add some flavor.

The wife and I decided to come here for the second time due to the first time«awesome» impression 6 days ago. Today the food came out slow especially as simple as a sauted Chinese cabbage came in as our last plate before a bowl of noodle, meatball dumpling(ba-wan), unsweetened soy bean milk, chilled tofu, and sweet rice roll(fan-tuan). We also ordered food to go for our parents. The wife went up to the counter to order since I can’t speak a word of Mandarin. Behind the cash register is the boss lady who told my wife to pay up after my wife had paid already. Shocked, the wife barked back that she paid. As we were watching the waitress clean our table, the only time she cared to remove our plates, she told us not to forget to leave a tip. Wow! One less dollar for you, waitress! The food is good. That’s why we came again. The service is terrible in which I told the wife I won’t come back unless they fix their attitude.

We came here for brunch… you tiao is a bit too oily but taste ok, dan bing is tasteless but I supposed it is a healthy food, the mince pork noodle is great although in my opinion they put too less meat… I would rate 3.5 star if I can but than the first disappointment coming when xiao long bao served… it was all torn apart so no juicy broth… we did not eat this menu and complain for replacement and got this answer: «this is taiwanese style of xiao long bao not shanghainesse»… I have been to taiwan and this is surely not the standard… second disappointment came when pan fried dumpling served, it was not tasty at all and was served without preserving the juicy broth at all… Those 2 menus were dragging down the star rating into 2 star… if you come here, simply order their nppdle and you tiao or soy bean…
